One excellent method I use is gather 5 sources with contrasting beliefs. E.g Fox news,Al Jazeera, CNN, Altenet and Reuters. I then compare and analyze their reports, if it matches up I form my stance, if not I categorize the news as bias and wait till there are either more damning evidence or the story is refuted. This is just one of the methods I use, everyone is different but what separates a realist from others is the ability to decipher facts from noise

I'm sorry a realist shouldn't think like that, you should always compare and contrast. Ask yourself,can a scientist be bias? Is it possible that climate change consequences have been exaggerated just a tad bit? Everybody knows it's good to protect the environment but in a country with 20 Trillion dollars worth of debt and so many job killing regulations, the EPA is one of the agencies that have lost its ways. Challenging every right from property right to State's rights. If Trump is ever to deliver on his promises,the economy must be unleashed, I'm sorry he's going to have to piss off a lot of environmentalist, human rights advocates and so on, no more apologists like Obama, it's time for real and effective policies bringing America back to the days when ordinary citizens can afford to work 2 to 3 jobs and amassing wealth!

It's funny how topics like this make the front page, but the news that has been everywhere for weeks, like how Putin had planned to blackmail Trump with videos of him sleeping with prostitutes and corporate bribery in order to influence his decisions don't. Things like Trump is the only US president to win an election but lose the popular vote so badly. Things like 73% of Americans actually think Trump will fail as a president. Things like Trump is trying to make Americans pay for his stupid wall.

Nigeria is the only country in the world with people who applaud Trump. The rest of the world is horrified and astonished by him. Mexico's president actually insulted him on twitter. Draining the swamp, that's proven to be ironic, since he appears to still be using its residents. And I loved the fact that he basically opened his own yash about it during his victory tour. Saying how he thought the phrase was hookey (sp?) and cheesy, but kept using it when he noticed the audience liked it. His audience kept smiling and clapping, while I kept laughing. Lolol.... its more to it than just "you hire and you fire"... this isn't the apprentice (which the "boss" who we think "hires and fires" will quickly learn soon enough)... far different from a boss or board of directors at some firm single-handedly making decisions... just because he's president doesn't mean he is above what we call checks and balances... its funny because this very statement depicts I believe the very mentality Trump walks around with...
