Thanks for the response, don't know the specific seal but can get the info tomorrow. The location of the seal is on the right side by the shaft.

Hello Car Doctor,

I drive a 2010 Toyota Camry and it's transmission is not selecting properly; it enters gear 1 but not 2 and 3.... even when it enters gear 2 it quickly disengage and the engine rolls.

A gear mechanic that checked said the gear pump is rusty and he changed it. Still the same problem. In fact I noticed that it was after he changed the gear pump that it refuse to enter reverse gear.

Pls, how can I solve this problem. Do you think changing the gear entirely is the best option? Or it can still be repaired? Changing the gear at this time is very difficult because the mechanic said it cost up to 500k.

Thanks

The gear expert that told you your transmission pump was rusty is a moronic thief! angry angry angry sad angry. That is not possible! He did not change anything!! Why are some people wicked?? No wonder nobody has any confidence in the industry.

Check and confirm other ranges you dont have. Your transmission has a long failsafe strategy, which disables some ranges, depending on the failure detected. Reverse is however not affected. You need to scan for codes, but i am sure ratio codes will be there. In the absense a scanner, disconnect the battery momentarily and reconnect. Use the manual shift to see what you have before it goes to failesafe again.

That transmission is difficult to diagnose in that car, because the clutch pressure ports are too close to the subframe! Not fun!

Try the above and get back.

I am not able to figure out how a shaft change would cause delayed engagement. The major problem is I cant ID your transmission.

Yes you can call.

Hi Mavrodians, serious pairing going on. Almost every one is being matched to PH or GH, No more small talk, its action time.
For the many people calling me every minute of every day asking if mmm is truly back or not and wondering whats going on, now is the time to show that YOU and I are d MMM, whatever we do from now determines if mmm will be sustained or not.
go PH and GH, then PH again. Mavrodi no go dash u his own money to sustain d community. If u are to PH, do it fast today, dont wait till monday. If u are d GH, after ghing, then PH again!!!. Todays list is too long, i cant write it down, na screenshot i go do. Check to see if u or ur downlines has been matched.

THE KEY IS THIS

DON'T talk bad about mmm in the public because your Gh is someone else's PH .if you talk bad about mmm in the public you wouldn't know if the person that will pay your Gh is there and by talking bad of mmm you have destroyed that other person's good mind in mmm and at last nobody will pay your Gh.so Keep speaking good about mmm in the public and soon you can Gh and be paid. i see mmm nigeria entering into 10million active & serious participants this year 2017

Look for the fluid to use. It should be written on the dip stick.

Hi

I have a golf 3 of 1997 model, 2.0L injector with auto transmission. I have had it for abt 3 years now

My mech has changed the transmission oil and steering fluid as well and reading theses threads has me worried. The kick down isn't working already

Which of the fluids available should I use as;
1 - transmission fluid
2 - steering fluid

Is there something I can do to revice the car?

Thanks

Hello Car Dr. & car Gurus in the house. I own a Nissan Altima 2003 S model. Whenever i change gear from P to R or to D or from D to R, the car jerks. Changing from N to D is worst! The jerking is more pronounced when I've driven the car for about 45mins to 1 hr. I'm not short of oil and the engine seats aren't bad.

Please how do i fix this problem?

My mechanic recently suggested that i get the gear serviced by just draining the oil, cleaning all dirts and putting fresh oil. But I'm afraid this could do more harm than good.

Please advise.

You are likely having high internal pressure. Your mechanic can turn the pressure solenoid counter clockwise 90 to 180 degrees, to see if it helps.
