Hi Gurus in the house, pls how can one notarize his documents.? Applying via paper route. Again I saw in CIC website that one needs to submit originals of documents and one photocopy ...pls i need clarification on the submission of original documents. Thanks

At CVAC (VFS) where you'd be submitting your application, they will not accept or receive original documents from you except the document in question is addressed to Canadian Embassy e.g Letter of Introduction from place of work, letter of sponsorship and any other documents addressed to the consulate.

Your admission letter should be in the original form. Your bank statements should be in the original form.

If you desire to notarise your documents, you should approach a Notary public to do that for you. They probably will charge you to do that.

some people are of objection that people should continue answering same reoccurring questions, Whoever chooses and has ample time can and should continue but the truth is that we don't even see those categories here to assist too, even when they come online, their priority is to get concerned personal information and leave, if they finally get their visa/even get refused and also try getting the necessary information for safe landing. It is bye bye to the thread.

yeye dey smell..

Good evening house,
I have been a silent reader on this thread for a while now.
I really like every member’s effort to help others and share ideas to make sure everyone come out successfully.
I applied to three universities for Fall Semester 2017: St. Thomas University, University of New Brunswick and University of Prince Edward Island.
I’ve submitted all required documents and hoping to get a feedback from them soon.

Thank you so much Osemigho.

I am expected to resume by September 2017. Does the online application not take shorter time to process than the paper route?

Route doesn't determine duration, verification of your documents does.
September is about 4-5 months from now. The red time start from 3.5-3 months.

Except in rare cases, those exams aren't needed. In fact, I advise you don't write it, except your program needs it.

Scholarship/funding is available if you going for thesis-based program in a good to average school. Shalom!

thanks

If you submit at vac, they collect only copy of documents not addressed to Canada commission or admission letter. But the copy will be rejected if not clear enough. Bearing in mind that a copy of a page is #40 at Lagos VAC.

Good luck bro/sis. I see you went for the easier route. Hope you can afford their fees cos, except UNBC, those schools aren't likely to give funding. Hope your new program is related and higher than previous program.

Ogas wey dey house, I hail!

Abeg I'd like to know if it's okay to accept admission to two schools.

For example, if I applied to two schools and I get admission to one of them, but my dream school is yet to decide.

If I use my current school to apply for study permit, and during the period I get accepted by my dream school, can I still accept and attend that one?

What would be involved? Is it a complicated process?

Please assist with the process of requesting for the GCMS file.
My brother who is presently in Candace wants to help me make a request.
What do I need to give him and how can we go about it. Thanks

This link should be of help to you. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp

You are to download the consent form from d site, fill it and send it to him. He will then apply on ur behalf. and he will be needed to pay $5 CAD.

You can and will follow the procedure of changing programs or institution.

Nevertheless, you should wait and get admitted to a program that will give you a better chance of obtaining a study permit be it your "dream school" or any other one as it is one thing to get admission and another to get a study permit.

If your "dream" school offer will give you a higher chance, you should wait for it and apply for a study permit with that.

Thanks for the response. I dont think either of the schools I present a better chance at trv. My motivations for my dream school are mostly sentimental.

I just want to know the possibilities. You're given a deadline to accept an offer, so I don't want to pass this one by and then get rejected.

If trv is granted, is the process of switching schools cumbersome?

At what instance have you made this judgement?@bold

Better chance here should mean level of study, in-line with previous study or current activity (work, research) and not necessarily something else. Any offer with a DLI code on it is very well approved and qualified to seek a study permit be it top ranked or least ranked school.

You can accept your offer and still get admitted to as many schools that you have applied to if there is still time for you. Main thing is that, you at the end select the offer that best represent and align your progressive interest, future achievements and goals to a visa officer while also showing consistency in either work or study. This is the outgoing basis your decision and choice should be made on when choosing which to apply for a study permit with.

All the same, In changing schools, you must meet the conditions of being enrolled and actively pursing your study at a DLI and must also notify CIC of such change. It's pretty much straight forward. You only need to follow the guidelines.

What sort of arrangement is this?
You want to keep your Bsc and MSc to apply for a Diploma.... even a course in total disparity with your ND??...(statistics and social work)?? Am lost!!
What are you trying to achieve? You have never thought that the embassies attaching specific guidelines to visa applications are aware of mischievous attempts to overrun the system!

That is why you will be required to explain gaps in study/employment!
I advise you to do the right thing!!

There is no need to lie man . if you want to give it a try its all about your believe but it is almost impossible to please the V.O according to post here. But with God all things are possible if you believe. If you have genuine reasons for going for the diploma course state it and go fast and pray. I applied for diploma course after bsc and am believing God for a miracle. But if I had known this forum I would go for a PGD instead.

@bold, I'm referring to UAlberta and UWaterloo. In my field they're both ranked 4 and 3 respectively, so I doubt in that sense any one would provide significant edge over the other for trv approval. Moreover I applied for same course at both schools.

Thanks for your advice though.

With regards to switching after trv approval, must I be in Canada before I can officially changed programs?

@bold I believe the receipt you say in question is the receipt that emanated from the bank of origin that processed the transaction which is known as Telexcopy of Receipt. In addition I expected your experience. Can't you wait for your school in Canada to mail your soft copy of fee payment when the payment reflects on their system which will now be formal and in English language and avoid this issue of writing letter and explaining this and that to the Vo.To that effect, you can substantially claim to the VO that your original sponsor made this financial commitment

MichV you so on point, I have a serious issue i need you to counsel me pls can i contact you or pm me

individual circumstances can determine a program which could be perceived to be assessed as genuine entrance. like I have said before on this forum, a female friend of mine I assisted in preparing her application for a DIPLOMA PROGRAM IN PRACTICAL NURSING,got her TRV last year and left on January this year for Canada. she declared her B.Sc. but the truth is that she has only one year experience in that field hence we explained to the VO the need for a diploma program since her undergraduate study was in Accountancy.

you may keep your hope alive but not a guarantee..
