Never say never. Even the children of Israel was finally separated from the Egyptians, so go back and tell your masters that they have failed.
And take note, I am not Igbo ,so don't think that it is only igbos that want out of this union

Friend, i am not igbo but a yoruba man from ilesha. You guys have to understand that not everybody that support nigeria disintegration is igbo. I asked you a simple question but like a typical african man, you will always ignore. I will ask you again.

How do you see nigeria in twenty years time?
Dont mind the guy, I doubt if he is urhobo. Many northerners have been paid now to impersonate various tribes here to cause division among southerners. I am urhobo /isoko, and everyone of us is tired of this Union with the north. North should go it's own way while the south should go it's own way.
It is even annoying that the dullard called Buhari congratulated turkey for successful referendum but refuse to allow one here in Nigeria

One thing you fail to realize is that it is not only the igbos that are calling for the division of this entity called Nigeria, yorubas have aired their voices even the nigerdeltans too. I am from delta state and honestly it is better the Southern Nigeria secede from the north let everyone go their way. We can't continue to be ruled with this poverty mentality while the world is moving forward with the speed of light.
Let Nigeria divide.

Which one is Fulani Christian? Better wake up to reality. Every region wants to go their way and leave you and your Fulani herdsmen brothers together in the north. I am not Igbo so don't think that it is only the igbos that want out. We are tired of this Union called Nigeria

Ok in a simple language, we Indigenous Northern Christian said NO, what God has join together let no put asunder.

While we accepted Biafra, Oduduwa as a People of like minded, we reject any form of secession.

God bless the OP and the other contributors who contributed meaningfully. As for the issue of disintegration there are many grey areas some people aren't aware of.

If you are truely a christian you will know that the division is inevitable just the same way the children of Israel seceded from the Egypt, south Nigeria will secede from the north. Also take note that God didn't join us together, the British did.

Marriage is not by force, as a matter of fact, I will be glad if you guys secede. If you want to leave a dissatisfied marriage as a wife, you have 2 options. Is either you file for divorce through court and follow the court proceedings for the separation, or you physically fight your way out of the marriage. Since secession plan is not in Nigerian constitution, the first option will be to review the constitution, vote on a referendum to include secession plan and you guys dialogue with Nigeria on how to secede. The 2nd option will be to declare your independent state under Nigeria which is a treason and engage in a war.
Ojukwu opted for the 2nd option, got beat by the husband, and forced to remain in the marriage. If you guys are conscious of history, what happened during the civil war should make you realize that physical fight is not the way to go about it. Now, the wife is taunting the husband, calling him different names and daring him to fight. And if in you guys myopic mind believe that the 2nd option of going to war is the option, can you for God sake provide a credible candidate to lead the movement and not some nonentity like Nnamdi Kanu. If Ojukwu, a well trained soldier could lead you guys to a total beatdown, what will be your fate if Nnamdi Kanu with no single military training lead you to war. Nobody wants another massacre which is the reason why many people are shouting you guys are not going about it in the wrong way. And we don't want to hear the usual cock and bull story of how Nigeria starved millions to death because I haven't seen any war where a warring party blamed the other party they are fighting war with for not feeding them except during Biafra war.

Crying louder and more bitter than the bereaved is never a befitting approach to your monologue.

How to go about it is in every lips. Both the high and the downtrodden.

1. Restructuring of the country or

2. Referendum for the people to decide their own fate.

We can't, and in all fairness, nobody can live in the past.

So spare your needless advise for now and watch as nature takes its course. You can defy this advise only if you have the power to stop the Rising of the Sun tomorrow morning!

Goodnight.

killing and chasing a group of people from your land is not d same thing as invading a group of peoples land and killing them in their own land. d legitimacy that gowon needed to invade and kill in our land was if ojukwu should stupidly break d law by seceeding (which is an act of war). hassan katsina actually dared him to seceed at aburi and he foolishly obliged because he is a warmonger

Chukwuemeka Ojukwu had always being full of himself since he was young. Born into wealth, he was a bold, courageous and outspoken boy, however, he was proud and believed to be better than others. He showed this attribute of pride almost throughout his lifetime. These attributes of boldness and pride made him slapped a white teacher that humiliated a black woman at the age of 12. The same pride made him believe he was not only better than the other 3 military governors but also better than Yakubu Gowon. You could see in the Aburi accord video that he was more eloquent and believed to be more intelligent than the other 4. As a matter of fact, the biafra war was Ojukwu ego war against Yakubu that he believed wasn't supposed to be the head of state

All well said. One of my Bros use to say that every Body is important but nobody is important. The fact and trueth is that it is iN human nature to integrate and to disintegrate at some point, for this simple reason, the creator of the universe according to the bible said"and for this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joind with his wife and the two shall become one flesh" All examples has been given and demonstrated why Nigeria must divorce and I think this era offers the best opportunity. now the oil is no longer a big deal, a BAG of foreign Rice is more Costly than a Barrel of crude oil "Barrel of brent crude= $50. BAG of Thailand Rice = 28 thousand naira" very less Talk of caw and big goats. So please my dear gud brodas Abeg make una go enjoy una vast agriculture and leave us make we fin our way. I remember say that oyibo teacher say make me and u hol hand but the time Don pass na and em Don commut. Abeg leave me make we no fight.

This is the same thing I have been trying to say.

Ojukwu waking up one morning to declare independence was treason, and that act was a declaration of war.
Dragged my people for 30 months in a war that obviously they were not prepared for, and oblivious of the dire consequences of yhat foolish act.

And instead of the coward to surrender months before to end the suffering of the people, he let that thing drag on, now see the mess.
@ugosample,kindly desist from typing things you know nothing about,
Do some research, how long was it from the failed Nzeogwu coup was it to the declaration of Biafra, how many months in between and what events transpired??,
Were there plans for resolutions and what came of it??,before you come online to talk of waking up one morning to declare independence. If you are indeed Igbo, then may the souls of all my relatives who lost their lives in Zaria in 1966 be with you.
There are fundamental issues to be sorted out in this Country before it can really be a Nation, instead of addressing these issues, some of you come online thinking to score to cheap popularity points start typing warrants trash,
Did you know that Ojukwu himself warned the biafrans against the war,the decision to declare independence was made at the main auditorium UNN by an assembly of representatives of the people,,trade unions and students organization, when he told them it will be difficult, he was shouted down, ask anyone who was present to educate you.

That said, the sad reality of this topic is that Nigeria cannot split, as there is no provision for that in the constitution, the only way to split is war, and that is not an option because of Syria tragedy.

And as long as Britain lives, they will never assent to a U.N. backed referendum, because they will rather work with the certain, or status quo, than try out an experiment into uncertainty.

So the reality is that this country will remain the same.
We just have to work out how we can live together

if ojukwu had played by d rules just like nnamdi kanu is doing now, we wouldve had biafra by now. if he never escaped, he would neva have been killed (another leader like nnamdi kanu would have risen if he were killed) but he will be imprisoned (just like awolowo and adaka boro) and if he neva gave up biafra, he will eventually be granted his wish just like nelson mandela was granted his wish. the problem with ojukwu was that he was never willing to personally sacrifice his liberty for the igbos which later made him to eat his vomit. he was also neither a principled man nor a man of his words. infact, he is more of a fraudster and a 419er than a leader which is d reason why nnamdi kanu was not initially trusted by d igbos when he started his quest for biafra. so far nnamdi kanu has not surrendered so hopefully, things will work out well when released
Kindly talk of things you know not hearsay, Ojukwu would have been killed had he surrendered.I was born just five years after the war ended to parents who both fought and contributed to the War efforts, No Igbo man who lived thru the war would ever blame Ojukwu for his decisions, why??.the declaration for independence was made at the Main auditorium UNN,by a council of the representatives of the people, Ojukwu himself warned them that it would be difficult, but was shouted down by the people,my father was present ,the meeting was captured on videotape, in case you want to check.
My father fought the war in the R&P arm of the army, stationed in Uli (Awo-idemili sector),he was present on the night ,ojukwu and his family flew out of Uli airport, that why I often laugh when idiots say he crossed the border dressed as a woman, nothing could be further from the Truth.
Did you ever hear of the muritala treatment to the asaba youths he called for a meeting??,
Stop being naive,he would have gotten no quarters from the Nigerian army

You may choose to see pride, others might see courage and confidence,
BTW,the Aburi videos actually prove that they were not intellectual equals not by a long shot,
Also, if he was ''proud'' as you say,he would not have joined the army as an ordinary recruit after having obtained his Masters from Oxford.that is not the attitude of pride but of selfless service.I dare you to try it and have secondary school dropouts telling you to frog jump and sit on your head,I doubt with your humility, you would last one week, yet he pulled thru to become the first indigenous Quartermaster general of the Nigerian Army.that takes character and discipline
