NIPOST Stealing Our Goods .. Please Help!! by vintino(m): 1:38pm On May 24, 2017
I am into mini importation and all I do is import based on what clients want, and I do ship through Nipost , now I recently ordered for two goods from AliExpress, a Zuk Z2 and Xiaomi redmi note 4X with accessories all valued around $400+ ..
Now I was called yesterday from post office mararaba , Nasarawa state that my goods is at the post office only to get there and open the package and all that's inside is an empty phone case and a eyebrows pencil..
I rush down to office that we will sort it out today, and the redmi note 4x came in yesterday, but on getting to the post office today we opened the package too and samething happened ... EMPTY PHONE BOX..
Now most people have been complaining of these kind of theft by Nipost official, guys don't want to go into crime just to survive but the way things are going they are driving us to that point...

I am asking all willing nairalanders and Nigerians to come to our aid, I am willing to sue them if the need be,
Although they are arguing between themselves but you know Nigerians it might all end there..

Please I will appreciateall help I can get ....
And please help me put this to front page.

Where are we heading in this country?

Vintino, don't take it lightly with them. They must produce your items. Even when they collect money before delivering our items (between #200-#2000). Some of them even claim their bosses are aware.

Now, they're no more satisfied with that, na to dey thief items remain. Noobody's leagoo m8pro was routed to Jigawa last week, even when the address on the parcel read Lagos. They delivered a client's leagoo m8 pro to Zaria same last week, even when the address read Abeokuta. A call to the number on nipost.gov.ng was received coldy. Come see how the post master accused Noobody of theft. He said the item was brought into the country with fraud even when there were purchase documents. I was later perturbed to see the same item delivered and duly signed for. Indeed the fraudster signed for its delivery.

And when we start praising them, that they are the only government agency we can trust, they strike.. Too bad it gotten to this. There had been several cases in the past 1 month, it has to stop now and everything it takes will be employed.

Just as if this wasn't enough.
Theloveth paid about $35 for dhl shipping for two phones in a bid to prevent nipost ish. It took the item 4 days to reach Lagos from Hong Kong. DHL held the item hostage with the claim that NDLEA seized it. They later said it was customs. They said he would pay 19k+ for customs clearance to a dhl bank account. On asking y dhl bank account, they said they operate a joint account with customs. They later said customs have office in their own office. They said NDLEA would later check after sorting customs. At the long run, the money was paid, "NDLEA" check was waived and the phones spent more than two weeks with "DHL Customs" with d accompanying accessories damaged.

Is this not a good service for $35?

I was to send an item through EMS some weeks ago, having been in cognizance of how it works. I packed the item well but I was told at the EMS desk that they'll have to repack before they can accept it (just as if it wasn't packed from China). I wasn't bothered but they were to use one flask carton to pack it at an additional N500. Extortion without packaging. undecided As if the carton was better than the airbag used. I left in annoyance. Dialed the number on their leaflet (from a previous postage) but the the woman who picked it said they no longer use the number that I should call one number she dictated to me. Lo and behold, subsequent calls to their numerous numbers were unavailable.

As a form of advice for newbies, potential and seasoned buyers I will implore us to start doing our unboxing video right there in the Post Office. If possible go with another person to help you do the video recording also include a voice over stating what condition the products were received and quoting some important information received earlier from seller.

The government is just using antibiotic for malaria when it comes to improving our international image.

What do we expect these foreign sellers to say when normal boxes become empty on being sent to Nigeria? No wonder, some stores don't ship to Nigeria.

Why can't SERVICOM be introduced to Nipost.
Telcos will cheat us, dhl will extort us and our own nipost will also add salt to the wound.

This isn't fair and must stop!

Re: NIPOST Stealing Our Goods .. Please Help!! by dukeo(m): 2:46pm On May 24, 2017
This is fraudulent. This is something the government must look into! After trusting these people with the goods hard earned money bought!

This is going to be a bad name for Nipost and Nigeria as a whole if this thing isn't tackle before it gets worse.

If this continues, people will loose interest in dealing with Nipost and when that happens they'll be no need for them anymore.

Whoever is reading this thread and is concerned shouldn't keep quiet let voices be heard in this country!

It actually exists. Issues of theft rarely occur in the big post offices because of the repurcussions if the officer is caught.

This is what Vintino should do. Go to the state head office and ask to see the area post master. They are quite attentive and will take up the issue for you.

I'm just stunned, so we have decided not to grow up in this country. This is very unfair. What is then the motivation to hustle legally? When we are still being hassled. OP please don't let this matter go unattended to. Involve every law enforcement agencies, from EFCC(tweet them to give you their office address close to your hood, relate the issue to them sef), the police, DSS and the likes. It might seem like a small issue but imagine if this is done to so many people at once. Na from clap dance take de start. Good luck!
