Nope! Dont think so.
Got my iud inserted after my 2nd period post delivery... The flow was crazy...

Ad par waking 2 feed.
Lemme give my own experience.

Since ma baby started sucking well, she never wakes to feed.
When she is very full, sh3 doesnt suvk but when hungry she does instead of crying..
So i wake at intervals and look at her or when she is turning.. i wake... once her fingers are in her mouth, i bring her to my bed n bossom feed her. She wont even blink till she is full n pushes d boobies out her mouth.. i burp n return.

So i think babies who suck dont disturb or wake to feed.
But if u can... offer her boobies or warm milk.
When sh3 starts eating full dinner. U can stop or only give water.

My 2cents.

Hello Mama, how's everyone doing?

Biko na english language confusion carry me come here.... My ppl say who ask question no de miss road grin

Please o, what's the difference between Mashed food and Pureed food

cc helovesme

@ how do you make your tombrown for your LO to drink?? mix with water and daz'all?

Zaynie had explained.

Mashed food is usually done using a fork or masher (stainless still or plastic). Mashed food is usually lumpy and best for babies from 8-9months.

Puréed food is done using a blender. It is smooth with absolutely no lumps and it's best for babies who are new to solids/have been weaned off exclusive milk and are transitioning to solids (from 6 months).

Pls don't read and pass!

Just this morning my DD refused to suckle, I had to express to give her with bottle she didn't gree and went on to use cup and spoon and she managed to finish it and since today she can't latch on...She is hungry, she grabs the breast and bottle but can't suck it. She is healthy, no symptoms whatever.I spoke with a paed and she asked me to watch closely for symptoms.

How old is your baby?

Please do not do phone consultation. Take her to the doctor for physical examination and ask them to check for/rule out tonsillitis. If it's indeed tonsillitis, mild antibiotics prescribed by a doctor and used over 3-7 days should stop it.

If her tonsils are inflamed, she will find swallowing very painful and she will refuse to feed.

As a mum, it's hard to tell it her tonsils are swollen/inflamed as doctors have a way of checking the glands by the neck using their hands and they know what sore tonsils look like.

for the tombrown preparation
mix like say 2 table spoon of Tom Brown powder with small quantity of water in a small container or cup

put small quantity of water in ur small pot and allow to boil.

lower the fire so that it will be low heat this will prevent from rising unnecessarily which can make it to have lumps if care is not taken

add that already mixed Tom Brown to d water on fire and stir
allow to cook for like 3 to 5 min

note: u can't store it inside flask like the normal pap

I add formula to mine before giving lo...[/quote

Do i dry the Guinea corn and millet in the sun before frying and how long do i fry it

For mama asking for tom brown preparation again, please see below:
Tom brown is a perfect food to wean your baby with, tom brown is nutritious and filling. A lot of Mamalettes often ask questions about where they can buy Tom Brown mix in Nigeria. But rather than buy Tom brown, why not make it yourself at home? Below is a step by step guide on how to make your own Tom Brown mix from scratch.

What makes up Tom brown mix is a mixture of cereals (yellow corn, guinea corn and millet) and legumes (soybeans and groundnuts). The cereals and legumes add a variety of nutrients beneficial to baby's good health to the meal.

What you need:

Millet
Guinea corn
Yellow corn
Soybeans
Groundnut
How to prepare:

1. Buy dried corn from the market, then roast it on fire until its turn brown and just before it starts popping like popcorn, remove it, leave to cool ( You can fry the two different types of corn together).
2. Fry your groundnut (1 Derica is okay depending on how much cereals you're using)
3. Fry the millet and the soya bean. You have to fry everything separately
4. After frying the soya beans, grind softly with mortal and pestle to remove the shaft, blow the shaft away with your mouth
5. Leave everything to cool
6. Combine all the ingredients together, if you have a high powered blender you can blend the mixture with your blender but if not, take it to the local mill to blend. The mixture should be blended dry (o not add water!)
7. Your Tom Brown mixture is ready! Pour it inside a dry container and prepare it

Method of preparing Tom Brown porridge

It's one thing to make the powder, it's another to know how to prepare it so it doesn't turn out lumpy, the key to achieving a silky smooth porridge is to stir it constantly especially at the beginning of the cooking just like semo).
Place a small pot on fire, pour small water into it, then make a thick mix of tom brown and pour it into the pot
Using a turning stick, turn till there's no lump in the mixture
Continue turning it until it becomes thick like a custard and looks cooked
The fire should be on a medium heat, cook for about 7 minutes until it becomes firm, cooked and smooth.
You can serve with baby milk or breast milk.

your baby is already 'fussy'.

the word 'fussy' is used to describe a baby that's otherwise healthy but is restless, not keen on food, crying and just generally cranky.

anyway, its your choice on whether or not to have her seen physically by a doctor or not.

do bear in mind that babies lose weight quickly. you will be surprised what weight she can lose in 3-5 days of reduced appetite.

I don't know what age your baby is. If she is less than 6 months old and a "paediatrician" suggests a "wait and see approach" for a baby that's not feeding normally, I would personally question such person's professional competence.

Please and please, take your lo to see a paed! My daughter was admitted for 2 days last month because she wasn't sucking and dull (no high temperature). It was discovered she had throat infection and malaria (after test)

She was admitted because there was no way she would have swallowed her drug if we were allowed to go home)

Hi @hunniesuzzie, Zaynie, any mama that knows

My baby would turn six weeks by Thursday Next week and the PHC said they do immunization on Tuesdays. Should I take the baby for her 6 weeks immunization on Tuesday even tho she'd be 2 days shy ( would that matter) or do I have to wait for the upper Tuesday when she'd be almost 7 weeks.

It doesn't really matter.
But I would wait till she was 6weeks on dot. For me o, not for any special reason.

Yes u can throw away.... I always felt guilty too whenever I had to throw away cos my baby doesn't suck much at once. She prefers to eat little at intervals than a full meal at once.

For me, I think I will wait for the baby to be seven(7) weeks. It doesn't matter since it didn't fall on the said date. So seven weeks won't be bad after all for the immunization

Good day Mama's! Happy Children's day to our babies.
It's been a while, I peep but not able to post and nobody asked of me.
Giddyperson, at the health center where my princess received all her immunization, the Nurses there said it must be on that day or after. NEVER Before the date. It can be 2wks later but not a day earlier. HTH

Hello Mamas, I need some help, does anyone know where I can buy an adaptor for a tommee tippee electric breast pump? New or second hand doesn't matter.

Another issue I have is that the feeding bottles are turning pink, has anyone experienced this?
