Have you come across the BEST HEALTH SITE in Nigeria? https://naturesgist.com/ . They are certainly the best to me. I came across it via Google and I got the information I needed. I used that opportunity to go through some of their articles, and I saw that they are all unique, comprehensive and amazing. These are kinds of sites I love. If the owners are reading this now, Please I will say GOOD STUFF!!!!! You guys make us proud...

To add to this, the school fees varies depending on the school...... in my school (UNILAG), it's about 60k for freshers and N22000 for tuition...... there are other expenses though, like indexing fee( which is usually paid in 200l)
How can I join this group?

1% of 500ml= 5ml of acid solution. subtracting 5ml from 500ml we'll be left with 495ml of alcohol( which is the vol. required to prepare 500ml 1% acid alcohol) .

or
For the preparation of 1% acid alcohol, the dilution ratio is 1:99( acid: alcohol (. Therefore the volume of alcohol required will be 99/100 X 500= 495ml

Re: Medical Laboratory Scientists Forum by Lordmykel(m): 1:09pm On Jun 05, 2017
you will not believe I have read every comment on this post... I feel so happy to be here and knowing very well that I have no reason to regret studying medical Laboratory Science..
-
I am a 100L Unical MLS student.. if I knew a course like MLS existed I would have been in my level 300 now.. but I give God the glory for everything..
-
well, my school admitted 199 when only 90 will be indexed in our Level 200... the struggle is real....
-
By God's grace I'll be back when I get that index.
-
keep on the good work. I love the way you all contribute to giving answers to questions here.

Good evening noble colleagues. Please I want to know if there is any foreign graduate in the forum that is currently seeking registration with the Nigeria medical laboratory science council. I am one of them. I just want to ask some questions for clarity on some new laws for foreign graduates.

.. Please send me your email address. .Would like to make an enquiry from you...urgent. Thank you.

Before taking the Ascp(international) exam for Internationally trained Medical Laboratory Scientists, you'll need to evaluate your credential through World education service and then send a copy to Ascp in the United States. As long as you are well grounded in all the sub-fields like Haematology,Cyto/Histopath, Med.Micro, Clinical Chem, BGS, you are good to go. A colleague has started the procedure already and is taking mock tests on their website.

There is an acute shortage over there and average pay of BioMedical Scientists/MLS in states like California is about $80,000(about 13.5 million naira)/yr. Do the maths.

I was reading through the Nigeria Institute of Science Laboratory Technlogy website and I noticed that graduates of Science Laboratory Technology are allowed to set up private laboratories in which they are licensed to carry out Biology, Microbiology, Serology, Hematology, Histology, Biochemistry, etc tests. They are given their own licenses by the NISLT. My question is are there going to be consequences from AMLS for setting up such a laboratory accredited by NISLT?
Yes o. SLT graduates with NISLT License can open any of the specialty Laboratory mentioned above. It will interest you to know that an SLT graduate is running this Laboratory coveniently in Port Harcourt.

don't mislead people if you are ignorant, no SLT is allowed to run a MEDICAL laboratory for diagnostic purpose. those licensed for NISLT are for research and scientific test not for patients that require investigation and then treatment. that is why NISLT is under ministry of science and technology and not ministry of HEALTH like MLSCN
