For those who wrote strategic financial management, how was it generally in terms of difficulty level? Someone said it wasnt tough but the marking scheme may be made rigid

Other sections of the question were still fair enough and could make up for the short fall in section A. My opinion though

Ok. Within 14 to 21 days, our result should be released. To keep the thread moving, which subject where you really disappointed in when you saw the questions, mine for sure is advanced tax, they were all theory like question and i kind of dont like theory though i enjoyed advanced audit and assurance. So over to you

As for me, Advanced Taxation was very okay. Infact I was expecting more complex questions. Some of the questions have been tested previously. ATAX was a shocker to a lot of students as most of us will be expecting more of computational questions. But it was more of theory. Even the SECTION A of the paper were all theoretical. The question on Capital Gains Tax as it relates to Hire Purchase transaction was taken from the study pack only the figures were changed.

Also in Case Study, the Porters' Value Chain model has been tested before in Nov 2015 diet. So I am very much familiar with it.

The only course that almost threw me off balance was SFM. But I was later able to compose myself.

May God bless our efforts. That is the most important

Thank you sir for that wonderful one. I too saw that standard deviatiom clause and was stock with it. Hope in a couple of weeks, fates will be revealed.

standard deviation clause is useful nt 'noise' as believed by many.it implies dat quantity prodused/sold culd nt b used directly bt multiply it by either 1.3 or 0.7.it is either increse or decrese by 30% and also to form part of assumption

Funny how I had more issue with Section C in SFM, than even the Section A question. If you are very familiar with ACCA questions on investment appraisal and business valuation, you should not have much issue with that question.

Standard deviation should just be ignored. It's a measure of risk, not probability. To take effect of such risk, a risk adjusted cost of capital should be determined. However, the question already gave the suitable cost of capital for appraisal so we just assumed that's the risk adjusted cost of capital.

AAA wasn't so great for me either as I wasn't familiar with ISA 700 (Revised). I only knew the one in the study text which is now outdated.

I believe God's favour is ours, and we shall all have cause to jubilate when results are released.

Same here. The compulsory question was my cheapest. I had serious problem with section B. AAA was my cheapest, that was the paper I just didn't want to fail. Generally, all the papers were OK with the exception of Case Study. I just don't know what to expect..

AAA would have been cool if not for Q1. Just don't know why the Institute refused to update the study text. Most people I know answered Q1 based on the content of the study text.

God's favour all the way though.

I also answered based on the content of the study pack. I just have the belief that we would all be successful, so don't worry and leave all to God...

I think CR was pretty much the bonus paper. Q1 was straight forward, and I sort of had a feeling the examiner would test IFRS 15. The questions, I believe, were quite okay.

To succeed in ICAN exams, one must strike a balance between computational aspects and theoretical aspects of the syllabus. That is the truth.

This is more true for ACCA exams, I think. You just cannot escape quality theoretical questions with them.

I didn't know anything theoretical in PM, but got lucky with the questions.
