my apologies. Make me a bride is a story by someone else, forgotten the moniker

when Bode got back from work that night his wife confronted him.
" Honey mi, you allowed that girl grow wings over the weekend. She had the guts to look me in the eye" she complained.

"Sweetheart please just leave her be okay. We will manage her so she does not go out of hands, trust me will you? you know i don't take rubbish. Now come gimme some sugar, i have missed you" He drew her into his arms and kissed her, with the hope that she would stop talking. She pushed him on the bed, and laid on top of him. Bode almost pushed her aside in disgust. He did not want to taint the feel of Diana on his skin so soon, but he had to give in or else his wife might grow suspicious. He closed his eyes and imagined it was Diana ontop of him instead.

Throughout the week, Bode and Diana barely spoke to each other. She kept to herself as much as possible, to avoid getting in aunty Jumoke's way, who mercifully left her alone after her husband told her to. She wanted Bode to touch her again, but she could not risk it, not with her aunt in the house. She prayed for the day her aunt would travel again with the kids so she could enjoy the bliss once more.

One evening, tired of watching television, she decided to take a stroll in the compound. Aliyu sighted her and called out to her quietly, looking furtively at the house as he did.

"Aunty Dina, abeg come quick" He beckoned her

"Aliyu wetin happen?" she asked as she moved closer

"That ya friend wey come that day say make i give you this paper. She come day before yesterday but i no fit enter house make madam no see me" he handed her Toke's letter.

"Thank you Aliyu" She moved away from the gate to a secluded area, and there she read Toke's letter. "Dbaby, i am so glad i saw you again. I had mad fun with you then, will your aunt be travelling this weekend so i can come see you? Do leave a note. Toks". Diana smiled to herself "Mad fun with me abi with Bode? She wants to come and lash again, she won't change". She rushed into her room and got a piece of paper and quickly scribbled a note for Toke. She dashed to the gate and instructed Aliyu to give Toke the next time she comes around.

Later on in the evening, while she assisted her aunt in the kitchen, Bode strolled in.

"Hey hun" he kissed his wife, ignoring Diana. I have booked your flight to Calabar for friday. you and the kids can get ready for your trip.

"Hooray" she laughed happily, hugging her husband. "My dear, you really want to spoil us silly. At this rate the kids will want to travel every weekend. Dont start what you cannot finish oo" She teased.

"Come on dear, if they want to travel every weekend it is fine by me. you know i can afford it. All you need do is tell me upfront where you want to go and it is done". He said as he left the kitchen

"Oshe, oshe oko mi. (Thank you my husband) Look at me, travelling everywhere i want, i will be the envy of all soon" Jumoke continued her cooking, dreaming of the places she would visit. Diana smiled to herself "This woman is really stupid"
