Yes very true my brother. The person I live with presently was abandoned by those she was living with, and I came in at that moment and now she ensures I eat first even before she herself have her own meal.

To be merciful means to be compassionate– feeling or showing concern for someone who is sick, hurt, poor, abandoned etc. (Romans 9:15).

Mercy is one of the main character of God; as only Him can stay with us patiently in the times of troubles even when others gives up on us and go their own separate ways (Hebrews 13:5). God gives this His own character as a gift to all who are willing to accept (Romans 12:6-9).

The selfish ways of man is I, me and myself alone, but the ways of God is, put Me first, others second, and you yourself last! (Isaiah 55:9; Proverbs 16:25).

Very true brother. When the Lord has spoken His word through the Word, the word of man only become significant only if his intention is to give a better interpretation of the Word (Acts 5:29).

I tell you the truth, If you can go into the Job’s eye covenant of Job 31:1, you will overpower and overcome any immoral sexual urge and lust (Matthew 5:28; Proverbs 6:25).

David once made the “luku luku” mistake (2 Samuel 11:2), even I once made the same mistake and most of us are making similar mistake.

For the Lord gave us the eyes to see everything, but doesn’t expect us to look everything (Matthew 5:28).

A Possible Question on the Day of Judgement

If the winds without ears could hear and obey the Word of the Lord, then why should man with two functioning ears not do the same?

(Mark 4:39, 41; Mark 9:7; John 14:15, 21; John 15:10; Hebrews 9:27; Romans 1:20).

That was brilliant, and a figurative interpretation to the literal meaning. All who love God by believing in Him are without limitations and so, all things work together for their good as long as they continue to walk as they are called (Ephesians 4:1; Matthew 22:14).

Romans 8:28 KJV
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

(Mark 4:39, 41; Mark 9:7; John 14:15, 21; John 15:10; Hebrews 9:27; Romans 1:20).
A Possible Answer

Well, since no one tried, let me try.

From my observation, I can see two possible answers from the question and from two different points of view, the literal and the figurative points of view.

In the literal sense, man disobey God for several reasons and mostly deliberate for some selfish personal gain, or choosing to obey their fellow man above God either to win favour or to gain favour, but as it is written, we ought to obey God rather than men (Acts 5:29).

On the other hand, and from the figurative point of view, man have the free will to either obey or disobey God (Acts 15:7), while the winds and everything else in the universe do and act as the Lord demands with no option to disobey (Mark 4:41).

The world was created by the Lord with no option for it to disobey when the He said with a loud voice, “Let there be light!” and the light obeyed and came into existence (Genesis 1:3), but He choose not to command man into existence but He bent down instead and formed man with His bare hands (Genesis 2:7), giving man the free will to either obey or disobey Him in the garden of Eden (Genesis 2:16,17) and this indicates that man is very special from every other creation of God (Romans 5:8 ).

But whether we choose to obey God or not, in the end of our lives, and in front of the judgement seat of God (Hebrews 9:27), we will all give account for all our obedience and disobedience and then we will remember the Holy Spirit faithfulness promoting us through our conscience to make amends while we still could (Revelation 20:12).

(Daniel10:13)
That verse you posted was from a vision Daniel had. I haven’t read up to the book of Daniel yet, and a critical vision of that kind, needs thorough research to get full understanding of the true meaning behind the vision.

But from the limit of my little understanding as I read along the chapter, and as related to your quote you posted, Daniel in verse 12 of the chapter, was commended for his understanding heart and self discipline, chastening and afflicting himself through fasting in a sorrowful state before God (Daniel 10:2-3).

To “chasten” as used in the verse –KJV, and in the literal sense means to deprive the desires of the flesh, maybe through fasting, sex deprivation in married couple (1 Corinthians 7:5), or other means, in order to meet up with the desires of God (Numbers 29:7; Psalm 35:13).

Figuratively, it means to deprive oneself his personal comfort for righteous desires and will to please God by doing what is right in His sight and for the benefit of others around us (1 Corinthians 9:27; John 6:63).

Jesus promised that all show the little will and hunger, will be helped and filled entirely in the end (Matthew 5:6).

It all points to discipline and self will. Doing your best and leaving God to handle the rest.

Daniel did his best, but couldn’t all on his own and was helped by God through someone – Michael to finish his task (Daniel 10:13).

Whatever God has called us to do, we should respond and take no thought of how we will do it, because a will and zeal as you rightly said will pave a way, for Jesus is the way and will show us the way and ways to go always (John 14:6; John 16:13).

Jesus Christ is not only the way, but is also the only source of light that can show us the way to God (John 14:6; 1 Timothy 2:5; John 9:5).
