back home back home back home where I blong, it won't b long, fit up fit up let's go, mama can't u c,wat d army has done to me but it won't be long, fit up fit up let's go.
I used to drive my limousine, now am hunching everywhere but it won't b long, fit up fit up let's go.

we sang with high morale as d days turned to weeks and to months, we av survived so far, some with broken body parts and some with scars dat I'll remain forever.
Morale!! hail Morale!! hail
December where u dey o,December where u dey o December, I want to c my mama December,where u dey o December.

we were in a happy mood as December was fast approaching but still seemed like forever.
camp initial on our mind, as we braced up hoping to win it for our battalion and it was going to b our first tym away from d academy and our snrs.
camp initial not easy, first night we had to navigation through a forest in kawra village and pick up marks at various points where we would b counted and our riffles accounted for. new terrain and all we had was our personal weapons, compass and maps for navigation. d exercise lasted from 1200hrs to academy, we were back at base,we arrived third, mehn d beating we received from our officers ba,if for bta say na boko haram catch us. lol.
we eat breakfast by 0600 hrs, boiled egg, bread and tea,one good tin bout academy is good training condition as in welfare, our food is always rich and satisfying b it in d bush or in academy. I forgot to mention dat Mogadishu is food (can we) battalion,na us eat pass and train pass.
we were done eating and waiting for our next briefing, grid points were given to us to plot our bearing on d map. 28km was d total distance to b covered,we parked water and our junk foods so as to renew strength. 6km into d journey we began to to dispose our food as to become lighter but den we became hungry, thirsty, and tired finally we reached a gutter oboy we drink d water like dat o, re we not africans, e no fit kill us na, well were second to return to camp.
days passed and various activities completed, it was den d last day which was a 34km race to b completed in 3hrs, dat is d first battalion to av 80 cadets back within d tym wins.
to b continued.

mun dawo, mun dawo lafiya, RSM na mu, mun dawo lafiya, we sang with high morale as we drove back to d academy kalakuta as we call it.
we submitted our riffles at d armoury nd headed to d cadets mess for lunch. our prep wingers were so proud of us dat we did not double back to our lines instead we walked and blasted morale, happy moment for Mogadishu battalion, we were promised heaven and earth for finally winning a competition for d battalion in years.
Christmas was fast approaching, our morales were high but den one more obstacle wic was d drill test, failure to pass in either of d three attempts would not b allowed to go on break. we really practiced hard for it, sometimes drenched under d cold night marching left right, left right, our foots became woods nd our joints replaced with spring, we could not feel a thing anymore.
d day of d test came, our boots shinning asper mirrors nd our uniforms ironed razor sharp, we marched on parade with our plum well sewed to berets full of pride.

during d drill square test we all match as per batallions Be assessed generally by our adjutant Nd academy RSM (regimental seargent major).
thorough inspection or our dressing was made an marks awarded accordingly. Den came d individual drill where we were required to match forward, halt, salute twice ND turn about, sound easy abi buh not wen ur village Oracle is marking tym bhind you. on a serious note twas not easy o oboy see slipping, plums falling and funny matching some of us couldn't help but laugh.
pheew finally over i awaited my results with high expectation dat I had matched well.
u all been wondering d importance of d drill square test well d pride of a soldier is in his drill,it shows his level of discipline, commitment, coordination, neatness and teamwork.
passing d drill square test also gives u d right to salute an officer,it also gives you d privilege of dressing up in military uniform a step up from d white nd blue.
D results had come Nd pased in d ARO (ACADEMY ROUTINE ORDERS) I was shocked dat my name wasn't in it meaning I had failed, also meant I would not b allowed to go on holiday, men morale was low o buh life continues.
Preparing for commandant's dinner we shined abi shoned our boots starch ND ironed our uniforms ( number 5), it was going to b our first tym visiting d cadets mess in d permanent site, lol. we were tensed up Sha bcoz we were gonna meet our snrs and most especially 2nd termers our enemies.

two things went through my mind dat nyt, the pending confidence job and d restriction I was bout to serve, didn't even here d long sermon by Major general Mi Idris (rtd). the confidence job is like a ritual which must b carried out on clowns (1 bar) every year a day b4 December holiday, from what I av heard,it's a very brutal exercise ********* in which *********************** and *********************** are done to d cadets, mehn morale was low o.
the shout of canwe ( food) brought me back to reality, hmmm yummy food, fried rice, jellof rice, salad and chicken served with chilled ice cream and cold drinks, no minding my snrs present and forgetting bout my troubles I was so into d meal until I raised my head and looked towards d far right and saw what looked like an Egyptian pyramid on someone's plate which made me wonder how he was going to finish it, den again I looked up to see red bars on his shoulder and then I smiled looked around to see dat other mogese also had their plates full, Mogadishu batallion living up to there nickname MOCANWE,lol. d eating passed and subsequently d dinner came to an end.
