Yes Hinata has improved a lot over the series but Sakura is still ahead of her in experience.

Sakura's main fighting jutsu might be her punch. But I bet she only needs to land 1 solid hit.

Last I checked, Hinata still hasn't mastered Kaiten which is her only hope of blocking Sakura's punches. If she tries to block a direct hit, her name will be sorry

Actually, no. Hinata has been learning to fight even before their set entered the academy. Their family is the royal Hyuga clan and she's been taking lessons long before Sakura even learned how to hold a kunai. She was more more useful in the missions she went on in the pre-shippuden era (see the bikochu episode) while Sakura always had to be protected by Naruto and Sasuke. I admit that Sakura learned a lot from Tsunade by Shippuden but Hinata wasn't sleeping either. Remember when they had to seal the Sanbi (three tails)? She was able to adapt easily and control chakra just as good as Sakura and Ino. Hinata has as much experience if not more than Sakura.

The byakugan wiki says

I hope you can see how powerful the Byakugan is. You seem to be underestimating it. With the byakugan she just needs to use jyuken techniques to numb Sakura's hands.

And Sakura sadly will not land that punch. The byakugan is way more powerful than you're making it out to be. In addition to your point about Sakura being able to restore her chakra, Hinata can do that equally well. Have you seen 'the last'? She effortlessly restored Naruto's depleted chakra. At most Sakura will punch the ground to try to unsettle Hinata but Hinata's stamina is far more than Sakura's (without help from Katsuya) and she can run around all day

The hyuga clan are powerful and master in chakra flow,control and manipulation.
if we are comparing sakura vs any cold hyuga like neji, we won't be having this conversation but sakura vs hinata,who is probably the laziest and weakest hyuga.
Sakura will brutalized her to pulp.
