What base cream do you apply before wearing him the diaper? I prefer Vaseline blue seal to Shea butter or coconut oil! Reason being that Vaseline is thicker and keeps the wetness away from the bum unlike oils that gets easily absorbed.

Try apply the base cream away from the elastic part of the diaper to avoid making it loose.

Additionally palm kernel oil heals diaper rash fast! So if your lo have it try using PK oil and air the bum more. My babies go diaper free for bedtime as they don't poo at night(dunno why o) I only use an underlay to absorb the urine and we've rarely had bum rash issues.

I use the green Huggies by the way and it's excellent.

Why do you want to clean it These babies have self cleansing mouths. Don't stress the baby for now. it's not necessary.

If you must clean it, soak her washcloth in warm water and use it.

It is soft enough but I don't feel it's that necessary to clean a babys mouth till its "cleaned"
My take is your lo is still on breast milk and formula? The white stuff you see in your baby's mouth is not plaque and doesn't cause mouth odour to warrant a thorough clean.

If you feel the need to clean her mouth it's best to do every now and then till she gets her first tooth.

Long post alert!!

I think I need to share this to help alot of mama
This week have been a very trying week with my baby in and out of the hospital.so my once active baby started feeling weak and having high temperature and dizzy always gasping for air (I actually thought it was cattarh), he would make a step or two and fall which was on unlike him. I rushed him to the hospital and doctor said I should do some test.
We found out that his blood level was seriously low (6) while normal should be (11 or 12) that means he is anemic.they gave me the normal antibiotics and paracetamol (I would definitely go back there to blast that yeye doctor at first rivers)
I came home and started research and I found out about iron deficiency anemia, you see right from birth my baby has always been a picky eater, he was on breast milk for one year because he out rightly refused all food but started taking pap after his birthday I would give pap and breast milk only in the morning, afternoon and night but I made the mistake of switching to cow milk instead of baby formula.
My mistake are: as a picky eater I shouldn't have switched over to cow milk because cow milk don't have the essential iron in it and I was busy giving him a lot of cow milk instead of baby formula that would have giving him all he wants.

So pleas if you have a picky eater like my d's
1 don't be in a haste to switch to cow milk.

2 introduce iron supplements I after their six months mark to help in blood production.

3 keep trying out new food.i gave up on my baby and was just comfortable with giving him only pap.

Note this is a personal experience and my baby is fine now and supplements. Thanks!!

This iron supplements, is it in form of a medication? Can I start giving my baby at 2months even as he is on ebf?

I use Shea butter mixed with olive oil as the base cream.
I don't know where to get original pk oil but I'll get the Vaseline today. Dh won't even let me put ds to sleep without diaper at night

let me share my experience and what I did. We were using prince and princess diaper with no issues. Needed a bigger size and didn't get prince and princess so we opted for Molfix. We dealt with diaper rash consistently meanwhile I bought 4 giga packs. We were gifted the yellow huggies which we used with no problem too. So I bought the yellow huggies again and was alternating with the Molfix, using Molfix more. And we've been rash free for a veeerrrrrryyyy long time.

Please Dustin powder is harsh on babies skin(not to be used by children under 3years), and let her paed see her since you said she was bitten by an insect.

Also fumigate or fleet your house to avoid such.
