Canadian educational institutions do not accept Third Class undergraduates, directly into their Master’s program. So, you will have to consider first going for a post-graduate diploma (PGD) or post-degree certificate/diploma or an advanced certificate in Canada. Then, if you have good grades in the post-degree diploma/certificate program (usually a minimum of B average), you should be able to secure an admission into a masters program afterwards.
Another alternative will be for you to use your Third Class degree to pursue an undergraduate degree in Canada, whereby some courses will be waived for you, so you only get to spend 2-3 years to obtain an undergraduate degree in Canada

Either through paper or online route once u submit u can't add anything unless requested by the VO.

Gurus in the house, I need your help and will like to be added to the TRV hopefuls. I was admitted to Humber College for Addictions and Mental Health for Fall 2017( Post-graduate Certificate). I have a background in Medicine/Surgery. I submitted my documents on 2nd May 2017 and have tried severally to link my application online without success. It is always showing "no application ". 1. I have first degree in Medicine and a 'Master in Social Work.
2. I am sponsoring myself and have a letter of release with pay from my place of work for the duration of the program.
3. I have a brother-in-law in Canada who is a citizen.
4. I have travelled to visit him three times- 2006,2014 and 2016.
5. I presently have a valid visa to Canada and USA till 2019
6. In my application I stated that I will be responsible for my tuition fees but that I will stay in his house and he gave a letter to the effect. He also gave his investment certificates.
7. My tuition fees is about 16,000 and my SOA is 6.5M.
8. I did upfront medical and submitted police report.
9. I didn't submit tuition receipt as I paid after I submitted application.
10. I didn't write an SOP.
11. I submitted house documents, car documents and all other investment certificates.
12. I have been full of prayers since I discovered from this thread that I needed to have added the SOP and tuition fees receipt to the list of documents submitted.
13. The PG certificate program is to enhance my knowledge as well as for upgrading in my career.

What are my chances?

I was waiting for the seniors in the house to answer this question. Based on the answers given, I can say my bit. From my point of view, she can either do the Early childhood education (ECE) 2 years diploma or if she is insistent on Montessori, apply to the Montessori training schools in Canada. The diploma is an undegraduate diploma and fortunately, anyone can do it despite any prior degree as long s you can demonstrate that you have a passion for teaching. From what I have been told and research, North Americaa is always on the look out for teachers, so teachers will always be in demand.

There are mainly two bodies that do montessori in Canada. If I remember correctly, AMI - Association of Montessori International ( training locations -Toronto and Vancouver) and MACTE. see links below.

http://www.montessorisocietycanada.org/teacher_training.html
http://www.macte.org/accredited-programs/canada/

Now I would give a word of caution here. If her main aim of going to canada is for schooling only, then she can do the montessori training program as well in UK for a year and come back or even in surulere, Lagos with their partners training school here. However, if the final aim is relocation as well, then she should go for the ECE.

Now why I say this is because I am not sure the Montessori schools are amongst the private schools which can give post study work visa. Also Montessori is a subset of the ECE program, so it will be still be taught there and finally, checking the average salary wages of Montessori teacher versus ECE teachers, ECEs earn higher pay. Most of the states have ECE centers and not Montessori. So let her do her research, Google is her friend.

Hope this helps.

Bros, you are a solid candidate for EE and your credentials are solid for good job prospects in Canada. Why the student route? Please also think about this option.

On your application, from what I have learnt here, most VOs will like to see progression on study permits. As you already have a Masters, its either you do a masters in another field related to your first degree or work experience or go for a PHD. What is your CGPA? Some people have been able to justify their doing a PGC based on low CGPA in the past but recently, the VOs are becoming more stringent in their decision making. other have advocated that a strong SOP can help in this regard, although this has also been a basis of dispute recently (read the last 70-100 pages of part 12). I would advise massive prayer sessions oh especially as you did not submit that vital information on tuition payment.

Coming to your POF-proof of funds, I think you are covered especially as you have paid the school fees alreay and you have accommodation covered as well. my concern here is that with the family tie, the VO might see you as an intending migrant and this could be a grounds for denial as it has in the past. These are some of the feedbacks our gurus here have emphasised over and over again. But I will let them come to answer you where I may have missed out.

@austinpee4, @mazuide,@osemigho,@dere1 please come help. Thanks!

Finally I get to understand how Naira land works.

Good morning everyone.
I'm Victor and I'm new. Please I want to apply to Okanagan College for Occupational therapist assistant and physiotherapy assistant for Fall 2018, the application opens November 1. Having gone through all the previous parts of the thread, I feel tensed as I feel this Study permit of a thing might be difficult but I trust God. I just need an explanation on everything I would do from the point of getting letter of acceptance from my school to the point of getting a study permit. I lost my dad so my mum would be my sponsor, she doesn't have an international passport but I do. I am completely alien to the whole process and I need the experiences of all of you.. I forgot to add that I finished Sec school in 2012, I've been studying a medical course in lautech but the strike is frustrating. Please help a brother out. I don't want to (and won't) be rejected the study permit, it's my first.
God bless all of you.

Boss, if u ask me, while the online route has its challenges, it is still a very convenient way of applying.
My advice would be put together a very easy to understand and decipher app. I think the reason for some folks having too long a processing time is probably cos the VOs couldn't swiftly understand the app and documents submitted.
Some folks here have suggested even using hyperlinks to make the work of the VO easier while navigating through ur application. Make sure your documents are complete as you can't add any after submission. As regards your police clearance from the US, u can always submit if requested for by CIC. Ultimately man, shoot ur shot asap, time waits for nobody.
jnyuwa02:

Proof of funds export document is a basic requirement, why did you not include it and had to wait for them to request it from you? Wonderful, thanks for that email. Is that the email too for regularly communication with CIC with a question? I will email them my FBI clearance once it comes in, even before they request it, just to show I am serious and have nothing to hide. I can't see how that will hurt emailing it to them even when they haven't requested it yet.
