I actually don't have one now cause mine was borrowed and never came back

When I order a replacement I'll get one for you and one for Oga Gazzuzz (his OBD2 scanner is still sitting in Ibadan). It really is a useful tool. The one I had even had an extension for those clamps that's out of the way. That way you don't have to take 5 parts out to get to 1 measly clamp.

The bane of the average tool owner at bolded.

Thanks for the tool(s) in advance, much appreciated

Thank you Mr. LeJeun for this great thread. I had to read every comment from the first page to the last and now you have a number 1 fan. Because of you, I am considering getting a Range Rover instead of a 2010 Lexus ES 350.

However, on a practical note, considering purchase cost for a tokunbo (Budget of 4.5 - 5 million), price of spare parts, FUEL CONSUMPTION, and use as an every day car/SUV, which would you recommend I go for;

1. 2009/2010 Lexus ES350
2. 2008 Range Rover HSE or Sport (Depending on which you advise I go for)
3. 2010/2011 Toyota Sienna XLE

I would have a bias cos I don't work on number 1 very much...

But for your budget, you most likely will get number 2

Bad Diesel got to it before we did!

Is it more feasible to use a LR3 or 4 but with the TDV6 now that diesel and petrol prices are becoming close to on par.

Or is diesel maintenance problematic in a Nigeria. I do know you can get both bad diesel and bad petrol just depends on where you buy it from.

I know maintenance schedules if not followed somewhat stringently on the TDV6 can leave you very sorry indeed.

To use a Diesel powered car, you will need a strict streamlined schedule for maintenance

What you are implying, well the way I read it. It's feasible to use a diesel engine car but wahala deh.

Nonetheless, do the savings on fuel consumption make rational sense, using a LR3/4 TDV6 in Lagos The idea that I can fill up my LR3 TDV6 and go from Lagos to PH and back on tank of diesel fuel is most attractive.

Many thanks in advance.

I would say using a Diesel LR3/4 will keep you more away from a mechanic.

However, you would have to be conscious about the source of your Diesel and other additives you would choose to ensure a smooth use.... I will advice change of filters sooner and practice double filteration

Well that is it for me, well said , i am convinced.

My next run around is definitely going to be LR3/4 Diesel. Will bring it in with a enough oem , fuel and oil filters any other parts i need to bring in considering i will at most do 10k miles a year between Lagos - Warri - PH - Lagos.

Many thanks

LeJeun3, when you change a Range Rover from balloon shocks to coil springs what effects does it have on the ride??
