Thanks my guy! I tried checking and I saw "Cinnamon", "KDE", "MATE" and "Xfce". I think I should go for "Cinnamon" or what do you think? I have also downloaded Rosa image writer but to download the Linuxmint may hold on small as the size is from 1.6G to 1.9G.
I have not watched the video yet due to data wink grin

Modified:

I watched the video (it's not data intensive tongue ), they did the video with Xfce, maybe I should try that also!

Mate and xfce are fine.
I wouldn't recommend Cinnamon or KDE on that type of laptop, speaking from experience. AMD E-series CPUs are not particularly powerful. Xfce is the safest, but I think Mate is ok too

Your learning starts now...check out this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qcFENfG6qg

Prior to where the video starts you have to download the ISO from https://www.linuxmint.com/release.php?id=29 (select 32 or 64bit as required)

Load ISO unto a USB drive as a bootable drive using Rufus or Rosa image writer.
Change BOIS settings to boot from USB and with the USB plugged in boot your system and install.

Enjoy the process, don't be scared to fail, its a new system so nothing to loose if you wipeout the old OS
Thanks guy, I finally got the Xfce installed and I am actually using the firefox on it to post this grin I will report back, maybe in a month's time on the experience cool

WAO, WAO, sincerely, I think I just have to say thank you guys for exposing me to this linux thing! Imaging, I am only using ordinary Xfce o and I am already feeling like I have been wasting my life with Microsoft windows grin Currently, I have installed Chrome for my browsing (I could get some synchronization with it); I have installed arduino IDE, using "sudo apt-get installed", the only thing I have not being abe to do so far is the configuration of my printer (I am sure I will soon get over that too).

Thanks guys, I am really grateful.

HP Printer? USB port? That should be straightforward too, just plugin the printer and it should be detected. I can't guarantee if it's not hp USB though

What's the error message? Are you sure the problem isn't with the printer?

2gb ram? Use xubuntu or lubuntu - they're the most lightweight ubuntu versions (or use linux mint xfce/ linux mint lxde)

Use gparted to create the partition, i believe the installer should come with gparted. Also, you WILL be able to access your music and files on your windows partition. If you can't, you probably didn't shutdown windows properly and will need to reboot to windows and shutdown/reboot. Hibernating won't work i'm afraid

Does the installation require connection? What is the extention of the apps used in the Linux mint xface? (like ".exe" in windows) What are the apps to download after the installation? Are there sites where I can download Linux mint xface apps (data is not smiling so I don't use my laptop to browse, I use my phone to download apps) I will install KDE, what do you think? Thanks.

You don't need internet connection to install, though you might want to use it to enable mp3 support. Alternatively you can install and later download the packages for mp3 support, although mint xfce comes with vlc which can play mp3 files without need to download other files.
You can download linux mint apps using synaptic package manager. It's sort of like an app store.
Mint is based on ubuntu which is based on debian, the program extension is .deb.
If you want to install kde, you better be using wifi or have a lot of data.
While linux mint comes with libreoffice, you might want to use wps office instead http://wps-community.org/downloads
it's more like microsoft office.

Thanks for the prompt response. If I have like 2gb of data tethering from my phone, will it be enough to install the KDE? The synaptic package manager, is for pc abi? Should I format my flash before I burn the ISO to it? What is the size of the partition I should use? And finally, should I create the partition before before installing it or during the installation? I don't want to make mistakes Bro, am a novice. Thanks a lot. God bless you.

Thanks for the wps, I just downloaded it and it is great, it feels just like microsoft office. Thanks
