Benedict let go off the man's clothes. He was confused and lost in the dark. The sudden change from professionalism to casualness; the muscles and now his sniper skills. That was more than a shock. All he wanted was to understand why he shot Yemi.

'Hello Benedict' Ray said albeit the tension.

Ben inhaled and exhaled like a fumed pipe.
He paced up and down with a gun in his hand, he wanted to nab the man behind the shootings; the bomb; and Charlie's murder. But now he had a suspect and he wanted to otherwise.


' How much did they pay you? Ben asked still not looking at him.

' I'll explain in the car-''

' I don't want your stupid explanations!' Ben cut in.


A siren bellowed at a distance and it was obvious the police were sweeping the area for suspects. Just time separated them from being caught.


'I'm still your doctor' Raymond said' come with me and I will tell you everything'

He grasped Ben's arm with trust in his eyes; Ben pushed him up against the car and pressed the pistol on his cheeks.

' I'm tired of these games. I want answers. I want them now'

'And you will get them.. But not by killing me. If you do, you die too. Because you will be giving ' them' opportunity to do things the way they want'

' What is this man saying?
Ben thought

He looked away for a split second. Wrong move. Raymond stepped on his feet; Ben groaned in pain and swung a blow; Raymond twisted his arm; pain shot into Ben's medulla oblagata and he launched another blow with the gun in his free hand; Ray dodged and swiftly balanced with a punch to Ben's ribs, he geared upwards and knocked the gun to the floor; Ben turned , but his arms were already behind him and his face was against the car.


' Arghh' Ben groaned out as Ray hit the bandage on his arm.


Ray used the opportunity to cover his head and neck.

Ben felt his ear become hot as Ray leaned forward.

' You are stubborn and foolish and without someone watching your back , you would have died. You wanted to be a hero... Take down a dozen of officers, James Bond huh? Well guess what? That's in the movies, in real life, you die. They won't think twice to plant a bullet in your 'innocent' face for murder. Yes you are now a murder suspect. You should be proud. Hitman right? You 're very stupid.

' I did not do it' Ben yelled out trying to break free.

' Well somebody did and the dead can't speak for themselves... ' Ray breathed unto his skin' I warned you. I told you. Becareful, but you-'

Ray released him, he heaved a sigh and picked up the gun. He held it out to Ben.

' If you think I'm an assassin like the fool I killed up there to man the sniper rifle.. to save your sorry a*ss.. Then do it. Shoot me.'

Benedict snatched the gun and stood with pain. The effects of the drugs in his system waned away. His feet could not carry him much longer. He cocked the gun but hesitated to blast Ray to wonderland.

' If you won't, drop the gun and get in the car' He looked at Ben's leg' sorry about that, I don't like being at the mouth of the gun. Next time show me the rear'

Ben was mute. He sighed and pulled the car 's door, his eyes focused on Ray.

Raymond hopped in and ignited the engine.

' What's going on? Ben managed to ask.

' Is about time you know what you are up against. This is bigger than you think. Way bigger'

Ray slammed on the pedals and fired the Suv down the streets.

Back at the pharmacy, the entire staff had gone home for the day and everywhere was empty except the two men that walked into an office. the time was far spent and almost 10pm.

The cold weather outside welcomed the sudden down pour and Ben hoped all his sins could be washed away. Those men he shot, blood everywhere and he found it hard to let go as it grip him tightly on the jaw.

Ray pulled down window blinds and switched off the A.c

' What do you wish to hear?

Raymond asked Ben when he switched on a flat screen on the wall.

He kept the remote on the desk and rotated to face Benedict who gritted in pain.

' We are at war... Benedict and I need you in perfect condition for the days ahead. That's why I want to tell you everything and I mean 'everything.'

Ray took off his hoodie while he was in an opposite direction to Ben, he wore a big collar shirt and added a tie, he added his eye glasses and sat down. He brought out a file from under his desk.

Ben asked what that file was.

' That code name BB6 is not just for fun. ' Ray began 'The boko haram ; the IPOB ; The ND avengers , the YOLICOM ; the badoos. Were planned moves of a bigger chess game. Last month we received a signal to go public... All I'm saying is that these were not lone wolves, the Leaders of these groups, all acted in unity to a single goal. A scheme known as the 'Apocalyse'


'Its coming soon.. And the Big brothers , that's Abubakar Shekau and Nnamdi Kanu, all the way down to Adeyinka Grandson, although they may seem to have different goals only did so as a disguise, a plot to deceive the government while they inflict collateral damage to country.. Until the final phase- the Apocalyse' he paused' You can't get out of this. You can't become the Nigerian Malcolm X, except you want to die'

Ben was shocked at the revelation.

'And our gang leader is the #6? In this so gathering of activists. Wait ! Is this some kind of joke? We are the next break out terrorists . I don't understand, how does that affect me?


Raymond got up, paced the room and came back to his seat.

' You see, that order for that last hit never came from the #BB6. I heard rumours' He paused' Phillip- I mean the B4 wanted you out of the gang. He knew it was impossible to erase you at close range so he plotted the raid and sudden arrival of the police'

'You 're important and since he wasn't chosen and he couldn't kill you directly as it would make him loose favor from the Big brother. He chose to put you in harms way'

Ben sat up and frowned ' that explains it all' he paused. He should have known


' No guns .. No mask, this is a lite deal' the B4's words that night flashed through his head.

'what do you mean by being chosen? He snapped out of the past.

Ray exhaled and looked into Ben's eyes.

' We are taking back this country from the hands of tyranny. This country is built on lies and deceit'

Ben asked him how. Their gang comprised of petty thieves and was top secret.

' But funny, just a day ago. Things changed' Benedict said.

Ray laughed.

' When the next summit happens, the Big brother #6 will present his leading commander to the council and then you will realise you are not just thieves but foot soldiers that steal to keep busy. A skill you will need'

' Don't you see it? Ray continued. ' Everything has been tailored for this moment. The Brother #12, its not just any code. It means something and soon you--'

Ben got up . He tried to understand.

' So I'm the chosen commander for the next terrorist group to surface in Nigeria.. The Kvng Nazis? Or are we going by another name? he chuckled and shook his head.

' You are a comedian mr man.'

He walked out to the lab and Ray followed closely. Ben did not want to hear anymore. He only wanted to get his girlfriend and get as far as he could from that location.

' What do you mean? So The B4 is like the devil while The big brother is.. God... And I'm like some chosen lamb. ' Ben said as he shot back at Ray who tried to convince him.

He pushed the laboratory door open and stared into the empty room.

He turned to face Ray.

' Where is she?

' She is safe and far from here'

' What do you mean? Ben began. ' What have you done to her?

' None of this should have happened. This is not happening, I lost my parents--,now I'm a terrorist in the making? No way!'


' That's why you were chosen. No one has been hurt by the society as much as you. Can't you see, the big brother has-'

' Damn the big brother' Ben cut in ' screw the Kindred Vikings Nigeria gang. And how come you know this much? You 're only a doctor.'

Ben paused , his head was hot trying to understand the conspiracy. He opened the convenience door , the room was empty. He came back and met Ray standing in his path.

' I thought you were ready but I was wrong' Ray said.

' Get out of my way' Ben fumed.

' I'm sorry'

Ben was puzzled. For what he asked.

Before he could take a step, Ray stabbed him with a syringe to the neck.
Ben fell down to the floor, and choked as he saw blurred images.

' What.. Wh- what was that? He asked. ' Who are you?

Ray leaned forward and his face was a mirage to Benedict. All he saw was double of everything. His heart pounded in his head. His brains went down his anus. He felt pain all over.

' Its m99...don't worry the pain won't--"

Ray's voice faded and what he said or did not say meant the difference between life and death for Ben as darkness followed.
