Well for episode 7, its obvious we are no longer going to see any more war with the night king. Episode 7 is all about everyone converging at a meeting point to trash out how they are to face their common enemy. Even Cersei would have to admit the fight of who sits on the iron throne is insignificant compared to the war with the dead.

So all focus would be in destroying the dead and not fighting for the throne.
