Let me share my good news with you. After a delay in my SOWP application in March 30 to be precise, I reapplied on May 10, 2017 and got notification to pick my passport yesterday evening. I was scared to go because of all the delay reported on this forum over the weekend. Went today anyway and saw that it was approved. I return all the glory to Jesus. Olowogbogboro has turned things around for my good. He can do it for you too if you believe. #ItHasEndedInPraise

Our immigration horror story continued. And yet again she was rejected for the fourth time. This time, there was no reason stated at all. There is no point reapplying anymore, we will just wait for the EE to kick in the next few months.

I had this same experience and I mailed them, when they responded, they gave me a date and time to come pick them up at the embassy. Make sure she picks it up as the hospital told me they were not going to attend to us without that stamped passport page( Again this could depend on the hosp). All the best.

Eventually, she was able to recieve another call from the CIC after she called them back and it entered voicemail again. They called to confirm her email. She received an email to proceed for medical test. Now, we face a challenge: the data page of her passport was not attached. What do you advise us to do, bearing in mind that the CIC sent the stamped data page of my passport when they asked me to proceed for medical test when I applied for study permit. She does not have all the required IDs with her right now, the only option we are considering is getting the her IDs scanned to her so that she can print and take them along for the test.

Please, I need your candid advise.

I had this same experience and I mailed them, when they responded, they gave me a date and time to come pick them up at the embassy. Make sure she picks it up as the hospital told me they were not going to attend to us without that stamped passport page( Again this could depend on the hosp). All the best.

Yes, you are absolutely right. The first hospital we called, which we discovered was too expensive later, said they will not do the medical test without the stamped passport page. We called another hospital which was way cheaper, the asked us to come with a copy of the data page of our international passports. So, we did not bother to inform the CIC about the omission.

When it was close to submission, our lawyer now said they didn't require bank statements for online application and there was no place to attach it. We weren't comfortable​ with it but didn't want to be arguing with professional since that was why she was employed to give advice. We followed her advice and didn't attach bank statements. It was later I now found out that there was a section on the online application to attach other documents where she should have made use of.

On the refusal letter they ticked personal assets and financial status. Other reason: You did not demonstrate that you and your spouse have sufficient financial resources to support one year of study and your presence in Canada.

I requested the GCMS case note and they wrote
reason for rejection:
Refused for lack of financial sufficiency.

Second application - Paper
Timeline (submitted and biometrics 10th May 2017. Passport pick up email 15th August 2017)

Then no evidence of previous travels which could demonstrate a history of having travelled and returned, limited ties to Nigeria . On balance, VO is not satisfied that ties to Nigeria are sufficient to ensure departure from Canada.
I actually included the wedding photos and wedding IV but they were removed at VFS
Please I need help on how to tackle all these and I wantto know how soon I can reapply.

Well so sorry once again for the delay. I will try to advise with my little knowledge on OWP

The VO has made your application simpler and easier.
1. It's true that Vfs does not accept pictures you could done things differently especially by printing those pictures on A4 and give it nice captions like I did for my wife when she applied. Attach like 4-5 strategic pictures of your wedding showing large attendance.
2. Travel history is not a major reason for refusal and can be cleared once you convince the VO on your proof of relationship and home ties.
3. I think the best way to tackle home tie is by writing a convincing SOP explaining your executable plans after your spouse's study. You can also include personal assets like car, pension statement, and landed property documents. In addition, you can explain a very important role you play in the family that you feel is convincing enough which could trigger your return as you would not want the vacuum you're leaving behind be left open for a long time.

4. You can apply anytime you're convinced that you properly addressed the VO's concern.

The bank will assist you with that. They will print out your statement once you show them your account number.

Nawa o! I do not understand this picture thingy o! It has been said severally that vfs doesn't accept photos, I personally did not apply with any pictures myself. What was your closing balance? Please do not lose hope, re package and re-fire. Good luck with that...

Assist how? Just walk into your bank and ask for your statement, you will be charged a small fee which will be debited from your account immediately. We do not encourage falsified docs here. You will be found out anyway, and that can earn you a ban.

You do not need a stain on your passport. Take it easy pray for direction and surrender all to God there must surely be a way i.e If you are truly interested in this journey. All the best!

@ Markab, you are very good at this home tie thing o!I see have to keep thanking God over again because I didn't do justice to it in my sop at all. I was concentrating on my work experience and giving reasons why I would be valuable in the Canadian economy.

For this particular application, I honestly think the VO was a bit too strict. We have seen approvals here without all this plenty story.
