The Niger State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has lauded President Muhammadu Buhari’s nationwide broadcast denouncing inflammatory statements capable of causing chaos in the country.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna yesterday, the state CAN Chairman, Mathias Echioda, also commended the president’s resoluteness that the country’s unity was not negotiable.

Buhari, who returned from London last Saturday after a medical trip, said the government would no longer tolerate hate speeches and inflammatory statements.

CAN has been politicized terribly, however it seems we still have some patriotic and sensible folks in CAN.

God will punish Pastor Ayo Oritseblingbling for destroying CAN for selfish reasons.

Buhari effed up with that "Ojukwu told me" statement. He thinks every region follow their 'leaders' sheepishly.

The new CAN president is trying and he calls out the government when there's need for it. Oritsejafor politicised can and now I am sure Niger state can will appreciate a donation from the presidency. The truth is that yesterday's speech didn't touch some sensitive critical issues Nigeria thought it will touch.

Only people with prejudice will see anything wrong in the president's speech. Some people expected the president to use the speech to address every issue bedeviling the nation forgetting that such speech cannot be used to address the multitude of issues.

The president was smart to address the one that touches on our collective peaceful existence.

Very brief and apt speech.

No true CAN will appreciate such an authoritative, lack-lustre speech.
Is there CAN in Niger State sef.

Won't be shocked if they aren't Christian members of APC.

The speech did not only fail to touch critical issues, the speech itself is an illegality. It was not done according to constitutional procedure.
President Buhari was yet to transmit a letter to the NASS before he assumed the functions of his office....
He did not give the speech in his individual capacity but as an impostor president

What does the president mean by Nigeria unity is non negotiable?

Does the president mean we can't talk of restructuring?

Does the president mean we can't talk of dissolution of power?

His party campaign on the premise of restructuring why the threat of anybody discussing about Nigeria unity becomes enemy of state.

There is tention in the land threats from a president worsen the situation
