We've had in the past various reiterations of somewhat ethnic militias, OPC, Hisbah, Bakassi boys, etc. While they're semi tolerated, they're more or less answerable to the government or could be disbanded by the government in that state or where they exist.
Issue is BSS is operating parallel to the government and with their increasing popularity, may soon become untameable. Once they have weapons, they effectively become a state security service within a state but outside the control of the state.

Someone or some people will start going missing

Hisbah is for states that operate Sharia laws and its establishment is backed by gazette of the states where it is in operation. Since there is no law in the country that supports the establishment of BSS, it remains an illegal security outfit and it must be crushed.

We have to come to a point where we recognize that Nnamdi kanu, IPOB and every Nigerian has the right to self determination. At the moment BSS has not broke any law in Nigeria to deserve crushing.

Self determination is a fundamental human right not treason. BSS is not an armed group and Nigerian constitution guarantees freedom of association. Call for referendum is not a call for war. Nigeria is not the first country to break up and it will not be the last, calling for Nigeria's break up is not a crime.

There is no country that can survive for long by holding people together by force. It didnt work in US, not in Britain, not in South Africa, it wont work in Nigeria. Dialogue is the only way forward.

There is no country in the world whose unity is non negotiable. Change is the only constant. Everything in life changes with time. Nigeria came into existence some day and it will come to an end some day. Same for all the countries in the world. Some will survive for only 10 years, some 100 years, some 1000 years and some may even last upto a million years but every country must change at some point.

That is the fact of life we must all accept.

Kanu's modus operandi is not the best with hate speeches at the onset which got him arrested. The government also exacerbated this by how they handled it.

However, you'll need to pick up a book and read on history. Things get worse when there are different parallel groups with opposing political aims of each security's constituency. Somalia, Libya, South Sudan etc are examples of where such types of groups exist...they're still burning today.
