I am presently waiting for funding, which will come towards the ending of September. My enrollment date is up until the 17th of November at TUM. I recently asked TUM for an extension but they are yet to reply.

Will it still be possible for me to apply for the German visa late September given the fact that I will have funding and my enrollment date is still at least 6 weeks even from the first of October?

When you say funding, do you mean scholarship or through blocked account.

New here, can someone please enlighten me on how to go about the studying abroad. Masters I mean

hello, welcome to the fam! someone nice dropped you link (Daad.de) previously while quoting you. This site helps you to understand what it entails studying in europe(Germany to be precised). most schools(some public universities) in Germany offers free tuition while others charge tuition fee of about 1500euro per semester but private universities charge even more. what you have to do is state the course you intend to apply for masters(which you are yet to do) , then any of us here can send you a direct link to the course/s you would like to apply to(or even related courses, thats if its not on daad website). please note that winter application(which starts from feb-july or august) for 2017 has closed,so you should prepare for summer(which starts from sept-dec or jan 15). dates depends on the schools. you can contact them by email when you get the link to the course.

Next is for you to go through their requirements and apply through post. for masters you usually need your waec or neco, university transcripts and Bsc certificates. some schools also require that you sit for a test of english proficiency(toef, ielts etc) but sometime some other schools accept a letter of proof of english proficiency from from your university. Recomendation letter and motivation letter can also be required by most schools in Germany and i think motivation letter counts even more.

furthermore you apply to your desired schools either directly to the school through post or through uni-assist(by post too). Some schools make use of uni-assist, a body that assist some universities(who patronize them) to help review and evaluate your documents for the school, if they(your documents) meet the requirements for the school. they charge 75 euros for the first course and 15euros for additional courses but the fourth course as i heard is always free of charge. It can be sometimes stressful as i heard using uni-assist even though i didnt patronize them during my own time, so i suggest applying directly to the school saves some stress(you can inquire from those here who patronized uni-assist about how they operate).

for now thats is all i think i should know(some people can add to this (in case i left something out).feel free to pm me or anyone here who has passed your present level and is more experienced on any issue you encounter along the line. Also try to state the course you intend to apply for, then we can help you search for it on daad website and send you a directly link to the course and related courses of your choice so that you can browse through them and make your choice...hope this helps!

Its quite appalling to find such level of abuses going on here on this peaceful and informative forum. I find it so disgusting when people find it very difficult to accept corrections when being corrected. This is a faceless forum so should i assume, and majority of us here hardly know one another not to talk of seeing one another before now. Even when someone is been corrected rightly or otherwise, i want to believe its all for the good and not necessary to spite one another. I don't wish to mention names here. But maturity is needful when you come out to contribute in public forums be it online or offline. Pls lets stop all this distasteful attitudes.

I have noticed with so much disdain how childish and selfish some of us have been acting while here. Some will tell you pls don't tell me to read the previous threads, some will just pop in and ask irrelevant annoying questions without reading any page on the thread at all, while some will never contribute to any problem being raised here, but prefer to just receive information from the contributions of others without even contributing to another's success story. Its all bad.

Where have we gotten it all wrong my brothers and sisters. Have the reading culture suddenly died a natural death, i thought majority of us here are going for further studies. I find it so difficult to understand how a graduate who intends to enroll for further studies finds it so difficult to make little research on the internet for solutions to confusing questions. Or does it mean GOOGLE is no longer our friend.

Things are gradually changing with regards to the policies of different foreign countries with Germany not being an exception. With time they will soon regard us as non english speaking country and our certifications will no longer be taken serious with the quality of unteachable graduate received each year from here.

Pls we need to adjust for the better. If i have made errors in anyway here, i plead for your corrections so that i can learn as well as others here who are also interested. I can't forget in a hurry how a sister in my first year at the university corrected me as regards the difference between "hard" and "difficult" and its usage in sentences.

For all newbies, pls endeavor to read previous pages from the thread, believe me its a goldmine of information at your finger tip. And for several "gurus" don't feel spited if being corrected, but pls endeavor to accept it with love and be willing to share from your wealth of experience. All the very best.

Shalom

Mrbigman no mind am...don't even sweat your self on small stuff.
I started reading this thread as well from middle of part2 and it helped alot. At some point i was tempted to open a German Agency business. grin
My first question ever was about Fintiba Block account because it was a new thing.
But you'll see people asking lazy questions like-
how do I travel to Germany?
Which schools are free in Germany?
How do I apply for student visa? etc
The one way weak me pass is...Is daad.de a website? shocked
Haba!!!
To all of us here... Please do some personal research and make Google, German embassy website and DAAD your buddy. Or better still just start reading from middle of part 3.
There's hidden gold in what people post here. You may not believe it but It was because of one old post I read from an old Oga on this thread that got me my Visa today.

Congrats sis. Wish you all the best in your endeavours. A quick question please, did you get a reply from the consulate when you sent your proof of funding? Thanks.

Congrats Onye Oma. When was your interview? When did you fund and what city are you heading to? These questions help alot of nairalanders track their application. Although we are aware some cities are quick to respond in alien matters.

Thanks... No they usually don't reply. If you have sent your confirmation to the email as requested then they have seen it.

May I use this opportunity and congratulate you on your visa success. Please in response to your comment on the lady's question, I want to say that she has all the reason to ask such question because the person that answered her wrote dead.de instead of daad.de Please check to confirm it.
