I'll recommend using the Meetup app to search. I'm sure you'd get Tech meetups.

That's right! But in this profession, time is golden and you don't want some rookies wasting them away.

wtf is that

It's rubbish...a gathering of yahoo boys, internet trolls, comedy clowns and hackers

The people there are drop-outs who couldn't be bothered studying mathematics at Uni level

You can easily spot them with their very lazy afro-hairstyle and body-hug t-shirts plus face-cap.

We know a real tech-guru when we see one, not some alaba touts. Check them out in the U.S, wearing serious glasses, formally dressed, smartly dresses, focused graduates.

Even worse is the presenter you called "Neo" who has got a full hoodie on, he is indoors and it's neither raining nor freezing...american wannabe.

See them forming fake accent as if they learnt British accent online
Bless you. The other day, it was for poem reading. Basically people had to sit and listen to this woman read her poem and it was a social event.

Why do you come off as a bitter, battered and hateful person?

I know why -- you're not quiet educated. Stay there hating while the early birds hook the market. In ten years from now, I guarantee you, all these people that you're putting down as wannabes will have made such giant strides in their lives such that it will hasten your departure to the other side.

"Who has got a full hoodie on"

You castigate people for being "wannabe Americans," but tell me, is "Who has got a full hoodie on"
not a full-blown Americanism? Why are you not writing British English, in which case you should have written "who has a hoodie on," or "who is sporting a hoodie."?

Your stupidity makes me weak at the knees

@ Cacawa2 why the hate, infact I can smell jealousy in your writeup
no... it's not jealousy.

If there should be a meeting of IT gurus, I will be aware...if not even involved.

So those people (including you - cos you were there), are not ready for serious business yet.

They called it "for loop"

Look at that. Watch out for the main I.T convention...you'd see the difference

I knew you were quite slow when I first read your comment. With this attitude of yours, I will not be surprised if you live all your life in one state of the country, in one state of growth, in a cramped one room apartment, stricken with abominable poverty. No, I will not be surprised.

I feel that you are still quite young and can undo the deleterious effects of your toxic schooling and upbringing. I see hope for you, even prosperity -- but you must first rid yourself of your defeatist mentality.

ForLoop is a tech event, a hangout where developers, designers, programmers and the likes come together to talk about new stuff in programming.

It is a hangout where"techies" come to talk about the new things in programming and how they can get themselves better.

A lot of sponsors are here, Andela, Cloudinary, GigaLayer etc.

I will be posting pictures as much as I can

CC Pcguru1
you guys no try at all. you should have posted the event and venue here two days ago so that people will be aware of it. the venue is close to my area but I was not aware something like this is taking place.

please keep quiet, you bitter soul. Always hating on what you aren't a part of.

No one said they are all elite developers in there. In fact, the majority may not be developers at all, but just people who are interested in the future of technology (enthusiasts, if you like). They are there making their mark on the Nigerian software dev scene trying to raise tech awareness amongst the Nigerian youth, but you are in your hut kissing your mirror and hating on them.

It's sad how ignorant you are, yet how eager you are to advertise it. You think all developers in Silicon Valley (arguably the world headquarters of software development) go about 'formally dressed' in suit and ties?

There's no big deal about wearing a hoodie indoors. Some people want the AC on, but hate having cold ears.

I'm Amazed too! That's when you'd know that most people dont even know what the Tech world is.

Most of them liked it due to pure jealousy. Some wished they were there. If Mark Z was there now and these guys were all dressed the same way they are dressed now, you wont see most of these insults o. Smh!

Nigerians, it's time we start encouraging and celebrating our own. Criricize constructively!
