So.... There is hope for us cheesy + at international orientation, school official say 'A GPA of 3.0 isn't bad'. grin maybe for those with kpali

You are very much correct, if you are a good student in Naija, you won't have single problem getting 4.0 here if you are serious. I mean how can you have low score here with just 3 courses per semester while you did well in Naija with 5 - 11 courses per semester. But u need to be serious

Also, most of their exam here are OBJ grin grin grin.....can be difficult sometimes though because of plenty assignment. Lecturer here are not like Naija lecturer that will require you to write word for word in the exam.

To cap it all, try to do well in your first semester to increase your chance of G.A and scholarship for the rest of your program.

So right... No matter how difficult the courses may look, there is enough allowance to blast them.
Quiz, tests, assignments, presentations, even attendance sef get 5%.
Exams between 50-60%.

A lecturer mentioned this objective thing + some fill in the blanks...

2 classes I have attended and it's like they are begging to assist you to pass.

I have verified the cost of wifi installation...

Router $6, one time rent fee
$40 monthly, promo price for first 3 months.
$25 Deposit, in case you do not return the router.

Setting up oneself here costs about $1000, + or -$300.
Initial rent, furniture, utensils, cutlery, mattress and frame etc etc.

So, even with a GA and full tuition waiver from naija you still need like $1k for accommodation and other small items before you receive your first salary.

The reason why it looks easier to pass American school exams is that the professors get promoted (or get pay raises) if a majority of their students pass their classes with a C, B, or A grade.
If most of the students get Ds and Fs, that professor may be in danger of either not being promoted (to, say, head of department), or even laid off. So, it is always in the best interests of the professor to ensure that most his/her students pass the class.

Approximately $3000.
All waivers and scholarships are in effect now.

It should be about $7700 (+ or - $200) for international students paying the full fee.

Storm is over but school will remain closed till Tuesday.
Upon all the rain here yesterday + day before, there was no cut in electricity... NEPA which way? Fashola how far? undecided

Long holiday, time to cover some grounds bookwise.

If ones tuition is around $14,000 which can actually be sent when you're already in school.... How much should one come in with to avoid being stranded and problem at the POE if one got no family abroad?
