My Mum, uncles, aunties and relatives had always warned me to be wary of akatas, that 99% of them don't have sense. I was kinda hoping MR. J was among the 1% that has sense. Well, you be the judge.

Hmmm....that's a harsh statement.... and this situation is certainly not one to support what they say... this is about human nature. I hope your relatives told you to be wary of White people.... and did they mention that" White people don't have common sense"?...be around them you'll be shocked! Dating White girl?..just grow eyes on your back.
Mr J.... I thought "no sense " Mr J was teaching you stuff! Bro.... I think the problem is he thought you were going to be around for a long time.... had trusted you... and decided to share 'vital knowledge' with you..... now this sudden departure makes him feel like you are an opportunist... was just kinda using him to get where you want to go... no feelings...no commitment. .. no loyalty. No doubt...you should've noticed some kind of attachment. ..connection he had with you and should've handled this parting differently. Maybe if you had discussed it with him.... he would've understood and helped you along the way. They have a way of getting rid of the agency...which is a middleman.
I'm not sure if you'll find the CNA any better....for sure ..the work load is going to be heavy!
On garri/gritz.......same as....tomato..... A. to-mate-toe...or B....to-mat-toe?!

Picture yourself like in a spaceship where there are lots of buttons and you don't know which one to press, well, that's where I am right now.

I'm currently seeing (not dating) one white girl and for the first time in a long time, I'm confused grin grin grin

Nice thread.
But OP that is not a fair situation to prove that akatas don't have sense.
I belive he was hurt to hear that you will be leaving him. Anyone who is truely hurt by such news will act that way. You broke his heart grin
I suggest you edit your post because if that akata manage to read what you wrote about him he won't be happy about it.

Anyway sha, you have a wonderful personality by the way. Kudos

Opportunist? Like I'd be taking care of him till forever? Because that's what I came to yankee to do? C'mon bro. undecided

Well, if you clearly look at my post, I never said he doesn't have sense. I left it to you guys to make the decision.

He is (was) a good person, he showed and taught me a lot of stuff, he even dashed me a phone undecided. That doesn't change the fact that his brain "touches" at times, I'm not someone that lets sentiment cloud my judgement. I go tell you as e be.

Garri or Gritz? grin

I took beans and Garri to work one day, I mixed the garri with milk and put it in a ziploc bag, then I put some sugar in another ziploc bag. When I wanted to eat, mr J's son saw my garri and said "Hey Obi, you're having some gritz?" I was puzzled, not until his dad came, brought out a pack of gritz and we started having an argument on which is which.

see if you can tell the difference?? grin

Which one is garri? Plate A or plate B

Guys, why isn't anything being done to curb the number of silly people popping up on nairaland?

Take a look at other forums, reddit for example. Once a thread is posted, if you drop a comment that isn't linked to the original content in anyway, your comment gets deleted. But here, silly, tribalistic, brain-dead comments are left out in the open. Honestly, what kind of image are we trying to portray to the world at large?

Thank you o

That is what I have been trying to say.

Africans seem to be mentally disturbed people.
From the quality of threads popping out here, to the dumb comments, to the tribal slurs, and the religious intolerant comments, to even those that periodically post disgusting stuff here...

All these had to change

But it seems Seun does not seem to care. As long as the traffic is coming in, which is the mentality of a typical African undecided

It's a shame

It's disgusting my brother.
I come to nairaland to read up happenings in Nigeria but it's only few, very few usernames that reasons like humans here.
Very aggressive, very insulting, so backward in reasoning and reality.
I go to one forum to discuss with people sometimes and I feel so down cos the level of maturity even from high scholars there are mind blowing.

Lots and lots of intelligent ones have long left nairn land. Some only view.
Read somewhere that we Nigerians have an average iq generally. We can see its reality on nairaland.

True talk.

But I'll put the blame firmly on the owner of NL, nowadays he seems to believe that any kind of traffic/publicity is good. There was a time in the past when tribalists et al were promptly banned.

It might surprise you to know that a good number of them should be above age 25.... it's more of a mentality issue.
