please, I urgently need your help now. someone just told me about going to Australia to work. He told me that I can get a work in a farm or factory in Australia. but you have to apply first for the work. he sounded so real. besides, I have known him for quite a long time now. but the part that got me afraid is where he mentioned application fee of around $150. So I don't know how real this sounds...He told me other many options of travelling to outside country. besides, he works as a ship crew member. at least that's what he told me. please, how possible is it? especially when I have O' level certificate only

Hello everyone

First let me hail everyone that has contributed to this thread, either by asking the right questions or giving the answers. Got great deal of info on here.

Now to my issue (s)

I got my 476 some few months back but couldn't travel immediately cause of NYSC. Now I'm ready but having issues deciding what type of flight ticket to book (one way or return)

I'd personally prefer one way but apparently I might not be allowed to board the plane from Nigeria cause I don't have student visa nor do I have a PR ( although I can use the visa to study or work). Therefore here goes my question,

* How true is this?? Not being able to travel to Australia with one way flight ticket.

* And if it true, how do I get a cheap return ticket? (I'm not planning on returning anyway)

Furthermore, I'm planning on going to Melbourne first, how can meet up with Nigerians over there?

Hello bro

I'm hoping you are still here, my question is hope you didn't have any issue traveling with a one way ticket to Australia?
Re: Where Are Nigerians In Australia . by 4mula22(m): 11:43am On Sep 13, 2017
I'm on 476 and I travelled with a one way ticket, alongside several others. As long as your intended stay is more than a year.

I hope this helps

All the best!

Oh boss, this is music to my ears. Thanks mahn.

One way it is for me then.

If you don't mind my asking, how is the pursuit for the PR going?

And thanks once again.

Hello Taofiq,

I'm sorry for the delay in response to your query.
But I see @4mula22 has responded correctly.

Firstly, congratulations on your visa grant, and I'm happy to know that you've sorted things out and now ready to make the move.
We all had that bit of hesitation to make the move.

To further support what 4mula22 has said, YES you can travel with ONE-WAY and the reason he gave for this is valid.
Also, there's an International Organisation for Migration (IOM) that can help you with your flight bookings.
Their rate has been agreed to be fairly cheap considering the comfort of flying with Emirates.

I'm in Melbourne, and there are also quite a few Nigerians here.
In my experience, the best places to easily meet up with Nigerians are at religious gatherings such as churches and mosques.
You can also find them in schools, campuses, etc but that wouldn't be places you'd go normally.

For the PR, there's actually no pursuit per say.
It's left to us to get what it takes to get the PR.
Just as with your 476 visa, it's pretty a straightforward process with requirements to be met.
I moved to Australia about a year ago, and focused immediately on getting my PR.
Thanks to the team on the link below, I now have my PR.
Through the process, my only challenge was English as I had to take an English test 5 times before getting the vital band 8 for my case.

Go to the thread below and learn about the PR process so you can prepare and gather all relevant documents before arrival.
It's a happy family with loads of experienced followers, so be sure to ask questions by posting on the thread.
And don't forget to also contribute when you can...

Wish you all the best in your preparations, and safe journey to Oz.

Re: Where Are Nigerians In Australia . by catchdwind4rmkd(m): 1:27pm On Sep 14, 2017
As advised by the post before mine, go to the thread in the link above yours and learn about the process.
You may be fortunate to be eligible for Permanent Residency, rather than waste your funds on visiting visa.
You should be aware that you can't work or study on a visitor visa, and you are not also allowed to stay longer than a period on any given visit.

Most importantly, we should all be careful of the sort of information we release to the public.
There are many watching this thread, both for good and evil intentions.
Stating the amount of money and value of assets you have and are willing to spend in order to achieve your goal would only expose you to potential fraud or scam.
People have lost their entire savings this way in pursuit of university admissions and visas.

Follow the threads, read the posts, and post any questions you have. Someone would always respond.
You don't have to tell us what you're willing to spend.
Rather, you can ask or find out what it would cost you to get the visa, and then you can compare with what you have to spend and decide if it's something you can do.

We are a family here, helping one another with information.
We are not migration agents, and would not charge you any fee or ask you for any deposit payments.
You'd be responsible for it. You'd do the application yourself and make all payments directly yourself.
If you're not confident enough to Do It Yourself, then you may choose to speak to a migration agent in person and ask for help.

Don't expose yourself to SCAM, YAHOO, FRAUD, and the likes...
So, tomorrow you won't blame it on the devil for being duped.
Modify your post and delete that account balance thingy.
I'm sure you'd soon start receiving nicely constructed emails, if you've not already received one, posing to be in positions to help you achieve your migration dreams without stress...
Be Warned! They're all scam coming after your account balance.

Best Wishes.

cc: Bellong

Good morning Wellendowed ,

Please I need information on Queensland regional area to move to. I just submitted my 489 visa application so I need to start looking for area that my family can settle in easily and get a job.

Any job is not bad as hubby is already looking at getting white card for forklift once we relocate or any other

We are looking at sunshine coast and Toowoomba I heard toowoomba has more job than SC, I also read about cairn but I got mixed fillings about google right up.

Can you and ideamaster be kind enough to brief more about Queensland regional area and what we should know before moving.

Before I forget I assessed as insurance agent but not going to practice with a lot of customer service experience and hubby is a sales coordinator.

Anything to start life is what we need.

The issue with Physiotherapy is you need to have general registration to be eligible for PR. It all depends on how you want to achieve this. There are 2 exams you will sit for after your credentials evaluation or assessment. The written assessment, which can be done outside Australia and clinical exams, mainly conducted in Australia.
The logistics and finance is the issue here. An option is to apply for a master degree in Physiotherapy, but expensive.

Thank you for your kind response! I finally got this answer.

Successful assessment with APC grants you 2 Years interim certificate without needing to attempt the written and/or clinical exams (only conducted in Australia) with which you can apply for 457 work visa.

it is believed that you should have passed your exams within this period.

The Interim certificate can be renewed a second and final time after which if you don't pass the exams within that validity period, you have to be reassessed again.

I think i have to explore this angle.
