Hello All:

This tournament will kick off in a few days and our team is already in Tunis to defend the title. Politics and ego got in the way and we all know Nigeria has better players out there, but we must support the team and coach.

I think the team will put up a good fight and get to the Semis. After that, anything can happen. Here are the final 12.

Ike Diogu,
Daniel Ochefu,
Deji Akindele,
Akin Akingbala,
Kelechi Anuna,
Anthony Odunsi
O'karo Akamune,
Ike Nwamu,
Ike Iroegbu
Dike Azuoma
Bryant Mbamalu
Abdul Yahaya

Following....

Despite the fact that there's just one player(ike diogu) from the 2015 squad, i'll still watch the tournament though with no high hope of winning it.
In fact I think ike diogu is there coz he's the team captain.

What could possibly go wrong? Tunisia prepare to co-host the African Championship on the back of a successful preparation in Europe, which saw the North Africans go up against France, Spain, Belgium, Romania and Portugal before returning home to defeat all four FIBA AfroBasket 2017 bound teams, including the DR Congo, Mali, Egypt and the Central African Republic.
2

Although point guard Xane D'Almeida has been ruled out of the tournament due to an injury, the Senegalese have gone from strength to strength throughout their preparations. A comprehensive win over Mali last week translated Senegal's grip ahead of co-hosting the FIBA AfroBasket 2017.
3

+1
It has taken Nigeria a couple of weeks to build a team to defend their African crown. Without facing a national team during the preparations, and heading to Tunisia with only one player from 2015 (Ike Diogu), the Nigerians are very well equipped on the frontcourt with Washington Wizards big man Daniel Ochefu and seven-footer Deji Akindele. They might not have trouble protecting the painted area.
4

-1 It's been over two weeks since the former African champions last faced a national team during their preparations in China. However, they head to Dakar with an experienced group of players. Leandro Da Conceicao, the son of FIBA Hall of Famer Jean Jacques Da Conceicao has given the Angolans a fresh look at the guard position.
5

The Congolese have shown tremendous consistency throughout their warm-up games in Tunisia. A loss to hosts Tunisia was followed by wins over the Central African Republic, local clubs Etoile Sportive du Rades and Etoile Sportive du Sahel.
6

+2 Losing to Tunisia 80-66 over the weekend hasn't reflected Egypt's pedigree.

I noticed that most team had a hard time shooting that molten ball....that had to keep cleaning it with a towel....i was never a fan of molten ball during my playing days...especially if you are the type that your palm sweats alot...spalding to me is still the best......

I think we have a weak team......i am not too impressed with the way we have been handling the ball........they are playing like they do not know each other much....no true cohesion......

I agree with you. I wonder why non of the guys that won the championship 2 years ago is here to play for us.
Honestly, my expectation from this team is really low. Though they have my loyal support..

Honestly, it is disheartening. The manager that won the cup was relieved of his job, likes of Uzoh, the Aminus, Shane Lawal, Gbinije et al were excluded.
