I will be travelling to America first week of Oct.
Can I hold BTA in pounds instead of dollars.
Will that be a problem.
I mean 1000 pounds for 6 nights
I will be travelling from the UK
You should be able to change it to $ in any of the airport in UK or U.S

Hello.

Thanks to the person who started this thread.
On the visa application form for B2, I filled 30days and I got 2 years. But now, am going for as long as 8months (I bought a return ticket from September 12 to April 27). Will that be an issue when am being asked how long?

Secondly, what's the minimum am expected to have as PTA for that long period. I know it's $4000 per quarter.

Thank you!!!
You can't stay in the U.S for more than 6 months at a stretch anything after that is illegal since you filled 30 days stick with that so you need to change your ticket to 30 days.
The CBP officers won't allow you into U.S if your plan is to stay for 8 months and your visa will be revoke.
You can enter U.S with less than $10,000 anything more than that you must declare it.

Hello guys, please, I would like to know if it will be wise for me to travel with any of our malaria drugs, cos when I visited Orlando Florida with my wife few months ago, she became very sick and all the meds I got didn't work like the ones in 9ja, our flight is end of this month and since we are staying 3months I was thinking of going with some meds, will I have any issues please?

I think you should avoid Florida for now due to Hurricane Irma and also you can take your meds but declare it at the POE.

I was about to reply the below quote coz medication isn't a ban substance once not in commercial quatity. Though one may be asked for the prescription i think

yeah, that's why it's advisable to treat before traveling.

The mode of treatment and drug prescription here in US is not the same with Naija.

mentioning malaria to their hearing is kinda scary to them

I see that you want them to deport you abi! Mind you, you cannot stay as a visitor in the States for more than 6 months...even that 6 months has to be permitted by stamping at your POE. By the way, not everyone can get 6 months stamp sef. You can't determine your permitted length of stay till you are stamped in and check your i-94. Some people are given even one month stay. Why would you buy a ticket with an 8 months gap pls?
My advise is this, stick to your duration as filled on your dhs-160 form; buy a ticket to fit same duration; travel and get stamped then change your ticket date to a new date ( remember that it still CANNOT be more than your PERMITTED duration of stay though). Goodluck

WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN THE US FOR 8 MONTHS ?!
YOU ARE ONLY STAMPED IN FOR 6 MONTHS MAXIMUM.
AND EVEN THEN YOU ARE NOT EXPECTED TO STAY UP TO 6 MONTHS, UNLESS YOU SAID SO AT THE INTERVIEW.

He can't spend pounds in the U.S, my suggestion is for him to change it to USD in UK or US.... I know the CBP officer will be okay with currency.

few days before expiration of the "admitted till" date will not work for somebody of working age who is on visit visa. The question is, what will you doing the state for more than 30days without working?. This will be hard for a young person (who is not in the state for medicals) to answer.

lol.. please don't mind my manners.
Firstly, you have a 2 year multiple entry. Please don't try what you're about planning on.

How can you buy a return ticket for that long period of time. Please Go back to the office (airline)that sold that ticket and reschedule it for that 30DAYS you stated during your visa application.
Secondly, the US homeland security will definitely arrest you, not just that, detain you and finally revoke your visa without mercy at the POE.

The maximum time required to stay in the US is 6 months. of course, no one would stamp 8months for you at the POE. What's your plan?

Make sure you don't deviate from your initial plan.
So, make sure you rectify that ticket issue and make it 60days.

And at the point of entry, tell them you're staying for 60days. Your return ticket is a clear evidence.

if you ever mention 8 months to their hearing, then just wait for the next available flight back to Naija..

Please, what's your purpose of visiting the US?

The plan is a birthday party in September and then tutorials and a professional exam early next year. I mentioned that to the lady during the interview.
I already changed the ticket though.

Thanks for your help also.
