Badinfluence, it's all about the positive vibes bro. If you are a regular on the Marvel and DC threads on NL then you are a fanboy period! We all lead our respective lives but it's our mutual interests in this particular subject that brought us together, which I don't think is a bad thing.

So if someone decides to speak left and right or upside down on his favorite pastime, you can either roll your eyes and ignore such a 'stewpid' comment, or you can engage the person and try to make him/her see things from your perspective in a healthy manner. WW reminds me of CA:TFA, they both play like golden age comics come to life on the big screen. They told a coherent story and stayed true to her character. Let's be frank, story-wise they stayed on track with the point and didn't try to put everything and the kitchen sink into it. It was a fish out of water story, in fact, it was 2 fish out of water stories - Diana's and Steve's. Plus, the emotional moment in the climax worked, even if the climax is known for its over reliance on CGI & that bloody moustache! There was also character development, Diana started out as naive and saw everything in black and white, but thanks to the short time she spent with Steve and co, by the end of the film, she realised that man's world isn't black and white, it's grey. Plus, Jenkins brought out some actual acting chops out of Gadot and now she really is Diana, Princess of Themyscira AKA Wonder Woman.

It's quite the shame that Allen Heinberg isn't coming back, his script was good, not perfect or great, but better than the previous fare from BvS & SS. Yes, I had fun watching SS, but the plot was just rubbish, the first act made me wish they just did origin films for the characters or made the film like 5 hours long. Well, everybody knows how much BvS annoyed me, even though I actually understood what they were trying to do, they should have simply released the ultimate cut, 'cause the fake Superman massacre didn't make a lick of sense, since they never showed us or told us, we had to turn into detectives to sort that one out. Plus, the theatrical cut made Clarke into an incompetent investigative reporter. Yes, Snyder visual director, but not great storyteller. I will not talk about Alexander Luthor, Jr. Any non-comic fan that followed the film from MoS would have been hella confused with the nightmare sequence.

I'm actually more ticked off about the standalone Black Widow film that they passed up. Then, they tried to dangle the possibility years later and we all just side eyed them.

They're rushing WW because it really resonated with the public, right now she's even bigger than DCEU Supes in the public eye. They should just get scriptwriter back as well. One is about replicants and what it means to be human and really wanting to be seen as human, based on a Philip K. Dick novel. While, the other is basically a story about communication and the life of a woman, who learns an alien language that allows her to live her life in a non-linear fashion, who decides to still live her life in the same way, even though she knows what lies ahead...that also happens to have aliens in it, based on a short story by Ted Chiang.

yup I said kind of Neo noir because of the gritty nature of both not cause of the characters.... and both movies have the same feel to it...I get your point though Arrival was more of a drama... but they both have dark themes.... I meant noir in sense of dark mysterious and shadowy not cynical crime stories

ASM's Peter Parker is a hipster and way too cool. ASM2 is just them trying to cram everything in there to make a shared universe...and failing. That Rhino & Spidey fade to black ending is just a slap in the face, since it was heavily featured in the marketing, only to lead to nothing. BvS lost the plot because it was trying to set up a shared universe too quickly, thereby not telling a proper story about the two folks it was supposed to be about.

WW is nowhere near as saturated as Bats and Supes, so slow your roll. Or have you forgotten that Supes & Batman are on their own reboots? WB/DC has been rushing this since they started their DCEU, they should focus on their current projects, Flash is still free-falling. But, I can understand WW, as long as the production goes as smoothly as its previous one, it will be fine. That's not propaganda, it's representation, deal with it. The current climate is diverse, in fact, it has always been diverse, we are simply living in a time where women can actually have a say and LGBTQ can actually state their sexuality without consequence - of course there are still consequences, even in our own country, but compared to say a worldwide stigmata like Oscar Wilde and Alan Turing being prosecuted for their sexuality in the past, even after what Turing did in the war for the Brits, he still got chemically castrated for being a gay man afterwards. Great contributions and conversations so far, I think WB is to business-minded. They want to count $$$ without working hard for it. Look at how many times they tried to reboot Superman franchise until their success with DCEU's version. Currently, I will blame Geoff Johns for accepting all sort of DCEU projects without justification. Why should you greenlight WW 2 before flash? Where is MOS 2? The guy seem clueless about the direction of DCEU. Instead, they decide to expand the lore of Batman and WW. MOS gave birth to the current DCEU and it deserves a sequel. Anyway, I will take a siddon look approach to upcoming DCEU projects after Aquaman. I don't want to expect too much from them.

My oga no vex. You know my stance on Snyder since day one. But you are right by saying it rests on the shoulders on WB. And if you've noticed, WB are in the habit of hiring directors they've worked with before.

Has anyone watched the recent animated DC live action, Batman and Harley Quinn? I don't really understand the ending? Anyone care to explain? I see Bruce Timm was trying to pull "The Killing Joke" ending.

Zack Snyder will still have creative interests in the DCEU moving forward, according to WB. Although, I think he might be uninterested in directing any movies for DC for the next 3-4 years. He already has a war movie pencilled down after JL for WB. But we might therefore be seeing him as producer for upcoming DC projects.

I suspect MOS 2 will be announced after JL. Announcing it now might be too early as Superman has a uncompleted arc in JL for now. Just my though.

What do you think of Matthew Vaughn's recent discussion on Superman for MOS 2? He proposed to making superman more colourful and joyful taking us to the days of Donner Superman. Do you think we need another "Donnerized" Superman after the several flopped attempts by WB to relive it? By the way, I don't see his new movie (Kingsman 2: The Gold Circle) doing well at the cinema after poor initial critical ratings (RT score of 57 and Metacritic score of 49). I think WB should be very careful in appointing this guy as the director for MOS 2.
