You guys are busy condemning Biochemistry and microbiology. How about anatomy or physiology? Those two are the worst courses in the world. Most especially anatomy. It's as hard as a nutcracker and yet as useless as a used tissue paper dumped inside the toilet.

There are many microbiologists but fewer biochemists. That could also tell you that the Labour market may have been more saturated with one than the other. M.Sc. Biochemistry could also make you become a hotcake if you are thinking of the industry. You would have counted about 5 M.Sc. Microbiology before counting one in Biochemistry, if you by chance see one.

If I had the power, I'd scrap the two courses as degree programmes in Nigerian universities. They are only meant to be taken by medical students.

I sincerely appreciate you all for telling the op the truth. Pls, don't suffer your self or waste your time with those courses cos you will be frustrated having studied hard in sch just as the medical students and be left hanging in the labor market. I tell you its really frustrating., study a course that is more or less like a vocation, something you can do with your hands, something real. Like the medical courses, acct, architect, fine art, agriculture etc I pray they will listen and yield to this advice. Its not abt having a university degree any longer, its about what you can do with your degree. My own two cents, thanks

Lol no qualification is few now even PhDs jst a simple advert n 100s of thousands will flood ur office with application.

Apart from law, medicine, MLS, pharmacy n may be teaching subjects almost every other course in Nigerian universities are saturated in the nigerian labour market

Ignorance is the major problem wit people these days...there are lots of graduates roaming the streets be it biochemistry or engineering...op just stand out...biochemistry or physics or yoruba..come out with a first class and see doors open for you

God Will punish whoever introduced those courses for bsc degrees. I almost died reading anatomy. after school, ppl will be like so were do u fit in? And u will be like, I don't know o"
