Dear VO,

My husband and I have current B1/B2 Visa that is due to expire 10th Dec 2017, Husband used his visa twice and I did use mine once for tourism without over staying at any occasion. I intend to renew via dropbox before expiration for the purpose of using it for Childbirth in December as well, Please what do you advice I renew as?

Then again Husband's passport with valid US visa is currently lost/missing, Please how does he go about renewing his visa? and what is the guaranty that he will be reissued another visa before our intended travel date in December 2017?

Earnestly looking to hear from you soonest.
Appreciate your most graciously.

Hello Leoibra -

Posting the same question 3 times within an hour does not speed up our answer, particularly when you post it at a time that we are conducting interview of applicants. To qualify for dropbox your existing visa must be current or must have expired less than 1 year ago.

Leoibra:
I am waiting for your reply sir.

Apologies for my consecutive posts.

I appreciate.

Dear VO,

Please what does it mean when, a passport number is entered in the Track and Retrieve Passport and it says "no update found for the passport number submitted" even when it was showing "passport still at the US Embassy" before now
Re: U.S. Non-immigrant Visas: We’re Listening by abujaniv: 8:38pm On Sep 13, 2017
Hello Iamzizilicious. Probably the best course for you is to schedule an interview rather than electing the interview waiver (dropbox) option. That way you can make your birth intention clear before crossing through the port of entry, where Customs and Border Patrol will make the ultimate determination on whether you can enter the country and for how long. Even if you choose dropbox, you may still be called in for an interview. Your husband will have to appear for an interview after losing the passport and visa.

Hello Oluwatisegun. You are not very good at this. Just two months ago with this same user name, you were posting in a thread called "Moving Permanently To The US" about your "plan to travel to USA on student visa and on getting there to marry a woman." Just as easily as I found your true intention with a couple mouse clicks, I or another consular officer will see through your lies at the visa window. Save your money and abandon this plan. Some day when you are older and more established, you may want to visit my country as a true tourist. It would be a pity to have that option permanently taken from you because of a bad decision now.

Good day dear VO,

I'm asking on behalf of my cousin who is a little worried.

He was granted a B1/B2 over a year ago but could not meet his scheduled plan to travel due to work exigencies and since haven't trvalled. The visa is due to expire in Decemeber 2017 but the next available slot for him to go on vacation is next year.

If he applied after the expiration, would it not be an issue for not using the previous visa?

Thank you in anticipation of your response.

Hello CO, this is my first post on here... I'm a 19 year old university student, and I'd be applying for a NIV to visit my dad who is a USC, who is inviting me and sponsoring the visit during my holidays. Can my dad's state ID suffice(in place of his passport) and would I need to show his Nigerian passport also? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Dear Abujaniv, please I have been refused US visa twice and I would like to reapply. My previous visa application stated that I was married with kids but in the actual I'm single. I would like to apply with the true information that I'm single. My fear is if I will receive a ban? Secondly, how do I present my case to the vo to avoid ban. Do I need to fill a new DS 160 form? How do I go about it? I want to be honest.

Dear VO,
Please I need your help. My wife and children applied for non-immigrant visa March this year and they were denied. The reason was :{( CASE REASON (Hold case/221 G & Refusals/214B)}.

The consulate accused my wife of impersonation and she told my wife she has no reason to deny wife but conclude my wife is not saying the truth. She insists my wife is not my legal wife. All effort to proof to her sincerity failed. The consular refused to accept all evidence she has. I have a valid renewed visa and she even presented it to the Consular.

That same day, I went through her application and the copy of my visa renewal application that I kept, we realized I made a mistake with the “Spouse Name”. My form has OLUBUKOLA as spouse name while her international passport carried OLUWABUKOLA. We concluded that was the reason for denying my wife and children and false accusation of impersonation. These names had been interchangeably used on various documents by my wife. Although we realized this is wrong and hence we have approached a court of law with a lawyer to address the issue.

Step taken so far address the issue:
I called the call center to explain our observation.
I have also written 2 different letters on behalf of my wife and children to the Consulate General
I have also approached a lawyer with the following:
*Annexed Exhibits 1: This contain Affidavit with other legal documents
*Confirmation of Name: Guardian Newspaper Publication (to address the cultural meaning of OLUWABUKOLA/OLUBUKOLA)
*Notarized Picture 1 (showing spouse and our children)
*Notarized Picture 2 (wedding picture and University graduation with my spouse in 2004).
*Scanned Pictures (series of pictures we took pre, during and after wedding).

I have attempted to submit the hard copies to the embassy to correct the error I noticed on the form but unable to submit hard copies. I have sent mail to the Consulate General with all these documentation from court mentioned in the mail.

The response so far is that I cannot appeal a decision but we can re-apply if the situation has changed.
In the light of the explanation above, can I go ahead to reapply? Our 10th Year wedding anniversary is December and I intend to re-apply for my wife and children so that we can both travel for the wedding anniversary. More so, I have promised my children to take them to US to visit Disneyland.
Please what advice can you guys give?

That by itself will not prevent him from receiving another visa. Everything is always considered as part of the whole picture, and the officer who reviews his application may chose to call him in for an interview.

We will not need to see anything from your father. The focus of an interview for a visa is your ties to Nigeria.

Re: U.S. Non-immigrant Visas: We’re Listening by Nobody: 2:46pm On Sep 14, 2017
The first step is to apply for a visa again and tell the truth, in the application and in the interview. You should also be sure to bring it up during the interview even if not asked about it. Telling the truth in this application may not be enough for you to overcome a history of lying, but it will be the first step toward reestablishing your credibility with the United States.

We submitted myself and my wife passpport for renewal at DHL abuja on Aug. 31st or so for renewal. Tracking our applications online through ceac.state.gov, it was reported recieved and last updated on 7th Sept with an explaination to check back in 2 business days for an update, in which there was no update up to the time of posting this.

I would humbly like to know if dropbox application take this long for an update sometimes, because my previous application did not take this long.

However, it is very understandable if this happen atimes.

Hi vo
Am frequent business traveller that will like to visit US,but I reside in two countries my home country Nigeria and a country in the north part of Africa.
A visa officer on this forum advice me to apply from the country wish I ve residential permit, because I spend less than two months in both countries, but my worry is that the country that I intend applying from is currently having consular staffing issues wish is stated on there website .How long does American government takes in posting new staffs to there foreign embassies and I really to know if it won't affect my future application because on the ds 160 form there is space for national idenfication number which I have on my residential permit but hope when ever I want to apply from Nigeria location it won't affect me,because i did apply for national identity card that is not ready for over a year and over we have national identity number hope fill my current I'd number won't affect my Nigeria I'd number.

Please I need the gurus in the house to help shed some light.I got a visa to attend a conference in Seattle Washington, but I am wondering if buying a return ticket of LOS-JFK-LOS and later buying a connecting ticket to Seattle at JFK would not cause any hassles for me at POE by CBP. As getting the connection right from Lagos to the final destination is quite expensive.
