This is a forum and I think everybody just says whatever they want, some of those comments reiterates our tribal differences.

I don't even live in Nigeria but I'm Yoruba wherever I find myself in the world. Thats how i was created and im proud. I just think it's not okay to generalize. I lived, studied and left Nigeria when I was young. I believe I'm getting much older now. I joined this forum just to keep track of happenings in Nigeria.

The first time I heard of that word 'Afonja', I asked on that thread
what that meant. Someone replied with a picture of a man with some tribal marks. I had no idea whose picture that was. Another responded with a bowl of ewedu soup. After reading other threads, it was time to see the tribal differences. Why be so tribalistic?

Tribalism is now new, it's been like that since I was just a baby. It's never been solved for that long, so I believe in a complete overhaul of the current existing system.

The most important people in my life right now are my family and friends. If being tribalistic is the way to go, my closest friends are arent much. One is Yoruba, one is Igbo, one is Hausa, and one is from Bayelsa Niger-delta.
These are people I've known through my adolescence life and we still talk almost every week. We've known one another for many years and I'm spending a part of my next visit to Nigeria with my friend from the north. His parents still call me even though they know I'm Yoruba but they liked me for who I am. My Igbo friend was still here lately and him and his wife came over to my place. So, I don't discriminate at all. I don't know why folks here on the forum keep describing everyone from a tribal perspective.

The idea is this, don't assume everyone is same.Because a few folks act a certain way is no reason to condemn the entire tribe.
From a tribal stand-point though, we all don't entirely think alike and are better off in our separate locations. No wars needed, unless a certain set of people need everyone to stay together for their personal reasons. Only them benefit from it, not us.

It is not compulsory that they must be picked to be the Vice President, it all depends on the new President if he likes anyone of them he can asked them to join him but if not they remain where they're, you can even be picked to be the Vice, have you forgotten what happened during Jonathan's time when he went for sambo.

It might be fake news but let me correct your wrong impression and please go back and learn from the constitution before you jump into issues.
If the president resigns, the Vice automatically becomes the President but that is where it ends. The Vice President is at liberty to choose a vice president. It must not be the Senate President or Speaker.
The Senate President or Speaker only comes in when both the President and Vice resigns or when both resigns, and there is no Senate President then the Speaker takes over.

Is the Vice not a nominee. Can't a replacement equally be nominated. In the event the President is incap and his veep takes over he can nominate. The Senate President becomes defacto Hos when both President and Vice are gone for any reason in order to maintain governance and it will only be temporary until elections can be arranged.
The fact that the Sen Pres is called the number 3 citizen does not mean he is the Vice President's vice president and can be 'promoted' to the Executive like some civil servant.
The institutions are seperate, distinct and equal and the Senate President is a President in his own right. The creed is just for emergencies.

you don't get the logic in this conversation. If the president resigns, the vp takes over. That will be Osinbajor, who will appoint a vp. This people are working hard to get Osinbajor out of the way, either through impeachment, assassination or force him to resign, then quickly swears in a notherner as vp, Buhari resigns, Kyari (or whoever) becomes president. He appoints his vp. (probably reappoints Osibanjo or another Yoruba person) and voodoo!

It is not done that way. The senate president can't be the vice. If Buhari should resign, Osinbajo will become the President and he will be empowered by the constitution to appoint anybody to become his vice.

The only condition where the Senate president can become the President is when both Buhari and Osinbajo resigned from office. In that condition, the Senate president will only be the Acting President for only 3 months within which a fresh election will be conducted.

it can be done. When former president yar'dua died,jonathan became president while Nemadi sambo became vice president despite the presence of David mark as senate president and the speaker of house of rep. It depends on the parties involved.
