What year did the guy receive $6,000 per month and what was the exchange rate? Probably it was when the exchange rate was around N200/$. and that would make it N1.2m per month, which to me, could be realistic.
The problem is the huge depreciation in the value of the Naira....that is what makes N2m to sound too much and unrealistic but it is not impossible.

You are looking at a pix of a workshop technician probably a casual or contract staff and he isnt confirmed yet bcoz he is on green hard hat. At best, his salary is 150k a month if he is up to 2 years. Yes there are other allowances including housing etc but Bleep it, that salary is only possible for IOC (Shell, Total, ExxonMobil, Agip, Chevron) and not Schlumberger except he is an International staff or a Manager. There are lot of former and current Schlumberger staff here on nairaland

Show us your payslip then we would believe you were paid that amount, to the best of my knowledge if you're based in Port harcourt then you are a National staff and would not be paid in dollars but if you're an international staff which you have not told us then you would be paid in dollars.

But from what I see you are a local National staff, even on contract, and the pay for national staff is not up 1 million and if you're contract then it is far less.

I would only believe when you show us a copy of your payslip

Only those working with producing firms can earn as much as $6000 per month at the entry level that he was, or those who are not Nigerians but work in Nigeria as an expatriate even if at the entry level. Not a green hat in a service firm who is not an expatriate staff.

If he still maintains his wild claims, let him upload his monthly payslip for a regular month and not the start of the year lump sum pay.

He might have been enroute such potential pay some day in his career if he got an international redeployment to another location of the same firm, but he certainly did not have such pay as the alternative forgone when he decided to up and leave.
