Hi guys,
I'm a Natural Hair Blogger, my site is www.biancasbeautyblog.com

I know the struggle of keeping a natural hair and that's why we naturalistas must have each others back.
When I first went natural that's after my big chop it was hard for me to figure out a lot of things, which products to use, what's styles to do, how to moisturize, how to get my hair looking healthy like the Nigerian naturalista celebrities (Genevieve Nnaji, Beverely and a host of others), How to get my hair to grow, how to stop breakage and so on. Well through my research and experiences I've realized that most natural hair rules are myths and I've equally come across some truth and now I'd love to share.

So if you have any questions on how to go natural or how to take care your natural hair you can ask me. I'd be here 5pm everyday to answer them.
Drop your comments below
1.What's your biggest problem with your natural hair?
2. what do you love most about being natural?
3. What are your natural hair goals (length, health or volume)
4. Do you have any regrets on whatever so far?

Yaaay!
I'm also a natural hair enthusiast, I big chopped my hair last year June! So I've been natural for one year and three months.
One chronic problem I've always had is dryness! When I wear out my natural hair, I have to moisturizer
my hair EVERY freaking DAY! It's soft and hydrated in the morning and by night, it's already dry and frizzy. Meanwhile my sister can carry her hair for up to two weeks (even during the harmattan) without applying anything to her hair and it remains soft and nice *jealous face*
I'm not a product junkie, and I don't intend to be one(who get that type of money). Even the ridiculously expensive shea moisture product that everyone swears by as the holy grail for natural hair does not do the wonders everyone claims it does to my hair. It's just a very meh product, same quality as Cantu and the rest.
So the reason for my long rant is, What can I do to my hair to make it super hydrated for a long time, without breaking the bank of course? There's this conditioner I saw on amazon called "Maximum Hydration" that claims to leave even the driest, frizziest, lowest porosity hair feeling like a cloud. I'm seriously planning on getting it but I'm not the kind that'll just throw $25 on hair product without doing proper research. There are mixed reviews on the product and I dont think I'll throw money away on some product that seemingly isn't as widely accepted as it should be.
So please, help my condition!!! What can I do/ use to prevent dryness?

I just stop using relaxer for my hair. I want to go natural.how do I achieve a natural hair faster?
Re: I'm A Natural Hair Blogger, If U Have Any Questions About Natural Hair, Ask Me by Nobody: 9:15am On Sep 12, 2017
Let me help OP answer the question
What do you mean by achieving natural hair faster? If you're asking for how to go completely natural, then you might want to cut off all the relaxed parts. It's called big chop. That way, your hair would be completely natural. But some people prefer to transition before cutting off their relaxed hair. This simply means that they stop applying relaxers but they don't cut off the relaxed parts immediately. They prefer to grow out their natural hair under their relaxed hair and wait for the relaxed parts to fall off on its own.
If you're talking about hair growth, it's mostly genetic. You really can't do much to hasten the rate at which your hair grows. Your major concern should be at having healthy hair.

Congrats on taking d big decision.
just like my sweet lady has said u can either transition for a while or do the big chop both are good.
But my advice is that u should try and transition as long as u can. you simply don't relaxer your hair but the prob with this is that u need to moisturize your her using a leave-in conditioner, hair oils and water. I'd advice u to transition for at least one yr before u trim out the relaxed part totally. This will save the stress of having a really short hair. But of course the choice is all urs.
About your hair growing really fast. the rule is moisturise, detangle, finger comb and finally comb with a big tooth comb to minimize hair breakage. if you can achieve the least possible hair breakage then you can your hair can grow as fast as your genes permits.

DuBLINGreenb:
How do I detangle
For moisturizing and detangling, I use my spray bottle that has 50% water, 20% leave-in and 30% oil ( hair wonder oil, coconut oil, castor oil and mostly olive oil since its d cheapest)
For deep conditioning I use leave-in, mayonnaise, avacado, honey and olive oil mixed together. check YouTube for more ideas

When you want to detangle bear in mind that you want the least possible breakage to achieve your hair goals.
PROCEDURE
Section hair
Pick one section
Use ur finger to detangle gently
Finger comb
Spray or moisturizing mixture from spray bottle and massage for a while
Finally comb using a big tooth comb.
Repeat for all sections.

Make a mixture of coconut oil, Castor oil and olive oil
You can also use any cream containing Indian hemp or get the raw hemp and add to your hair cream

What type of Shea Butter do you use? Is it the one those women on the road side sell for 50 naira. That's trash it's processed animal fat
Try buying original Shea Butter online.

Also there is a product called hairwonder it has shampoo, oil and cream it's on jumia

Yes that might help or you can check my signature and contact me.
Your hair might be really damaged from relaxer or heat. You might want to trim your hair to one size for a start, Go natural if u ain't ( stop using relaxer and other chemicals) and do some DIY protein treatment with eggs, avacado nd olive oil (check YouTube to see how its done)..
contact me for hair wonder hair cream, it would help.

You might want to stop comparing your hair to your sister's, I'm sure u are aware that your hair its diff from hers(hair porosity) so care for it differently.
I'm sure u know the LOC method... try using Shea butter as the last one (sealant).
How often do u pre-poo? (check YouTube) I use avacado, mayonnaise, leave in and lots of oil.
How often do you do your protein treatment?
Do you know that some hair oils can keep your hair moisturized?
Do you know that exposure heat from hair straightener, blow drying, hot combing, and heat from d sun can liv ur hair dry nd frizzy? yes I said sun... DATs y we in Nigerian have to do more protein treatments.
finally water, water, water, water.

This is my second attempt at keeping natural hair! The first time round for lack of styling ideas I relaxed the hair again

I'm just going to let the hair transition itself! Been a few months so far.

I've spent most of the time braiding the hair..... I'm keen to get it right this time. Do share tips for maintenance please. There are so many routines out there which are you using? Care to share pictures of your hair?

Thanks

Try going through the previous posts on this thread you might learn a thing or two. Don't do Jerry curl or any of that.
to get your hair soft you moisturize using Cantu leave in conditioner, water, coconut oil and Shea butter lastly.
it will make your hair soft. if your hair is too hard to manage then fix a weavon, buy wigs, do crotchets but don't relax

Try not to braid so much, fix more weavons or buy wigs or fix crotchet. Try not to put much stress on ur edges.

normally i am transitioning and i usually fix weavon and lose it out a month after, my question is
1. how do you take care of natural hair under the weavon during this period? if the weather is hot the hair becomes dry and when losing it out , the dandruff will be oit of this world, if it rains, it becomes smelly and starts to itch.

2. How do i prevent breakage because by the time i lose.my hair and comb it out, a chunk has gone, after washing a quarter of my hair is in the sink. What can i do for the dandruff and breakage? I have tried a lot of products store bought and homemade.
