I feel this is the last hope for me to get back my N10,450 from FRSC and GTB

The Story:
I initiated the renewal of my drivers licence online on the 14th of June 2017. I used this option because I was charged double of the renewal amount in their office to do same and I discovered I could do it my self. After making some necessary inputs on my page in the renewal page, I proceeded to make the payment of the said N10,450 with my GTB card, after inputting the card details and other details, while waiting for the payment process to be completed, I was timed out, I waited for some time and without getting a response from my bank if the payment was completed, I then initiated another payment cycle, this time, the process was completed and I was sent a successful feedback immediately. To my surprise, I later got a debit alert from GTB the same night indicating that N10,450 was deducted twice from my account. I immediately called the bank online customer service but unfortunately, they kept putting me on hold without anyone attending to me, I wasted about N1000 credit on this alone. The following day, I reported the error to thier branch office in Uyo, the error was logged in from thier branch, since then, it has been from 5 working days to 9 working days, from telling me that the receiving bank has not responded to different stories. I wrote severally to FRSC on this, the only response I got was that my bank will deal accordingly which I sent also to GTB. This situation lingered that I had to escalate through the bank head office complaint center. After waiting again for so many days, the response I got from them was that I had value for the 2 payments.I have asked them severally since then how I could have 2 values for a drivers licence. Was I supposed to pay twice for one licence. I have written FRSC severally on this through their mail and through their twitter handle, yet no one has made any effort to get back to me or refund my money. This is a clear case of fraud from these agencies. I need them to refund my money. This is unacceptable to me and discouraging for me and other people that wish to utilize web channels for making payment

Please house, help me escalate this to get to the general public attention and to the relevant channel involved so that my N10,450 will be refunded
Thank you

I created a thread about how I paid #15,000 instead of #10,450 for renewal of my license and a guy said I should have use their online payment system.
Op's current situation is what i tried to avoid and even when they discovered you paid online, they will intentionally slow down the process and frustrate you.

I advice OP to keep pushing maybe God might help you with refund.

Which way naija

I have explored every channel to communicate with them, the unfortunate thing is that no reply ever from any of the channels, it is very pathetic,If this post can be given the desired publicity, maybe other people in this same problem can come up and solution will be found

This is a clear case of fraud done by both GTBANK AND FRSC... It is obvious they don't want to refund the money.. Legalized thiefs.. Gtbank has a good reputation for tacticalling deducting money without a just cause.

I have been on this for the past 4 months, what I expected is for them to reverse the money seeing all the evidences I presented to them, this is to me a deliberate act from all the parties, this is a service rendered, there is no way I would have value for two licences

Please don't give up, this is your hard earn money so don't let it go. Mistakenly own these banks just 10 naira and see if they will not sharply withdraw it. Unfortunately thing don't work well in this country. The Only chance you've got now is social media. once it get to those platforms with lot of people calling them out the will quickly call you for your money.

Thank you so much,I am hoping for it to reach out, in the course of pursuing this, I have taken it upon my self to cry out until I am heard, not just for my sake alone, I went to one of thier capture centre, and one of those agents there told me that people pass through such experience without achieving anything at the end, I told him that this time around,it wont be the same

Customer service and complaints resolution sucks in this country, a professional bank as GTB took ages to come up with any reasonable feedback, form giving me 5 days, to 9 days, the thing dragged into months,I had to escalate to thier HQ complaints centre before I was given an due attention after weeks, as for FRSC, I have complained through thier mail, phone numbers, twitter handle, dedicated conpliants e mail,it still suprises me that not even one response has come from any of those channel, this has made me to start asking the relevant of all those channels,

I emplore anyone that can help me push this through other channels to do so,other people will benefit,we cant imagine such amount tied up in issues like this

I Had a similar experience with an air line. I cancelled my flight instead of them to refund me they kept postponing it. I threaten to go public with it the next day I got money back with compensation. I pray you get your money back.

To beat avoidable problems, understand the society you live in, and make use of the simplest lawful routes which might not be the cheapest. Next time, go to their office and pay there! The system is cumbersome. If you play too smart you will get entrapped. Good luck!

It wasn't a case of playing smart, I went to thier office in the first place, in the course of interaction,I was told I could also do it online my self, when I followed the process, I saw it was what I could easily do, the process wasnt cumbersome,if not this isuue that came up with the payment

Had it been I am dealing with a private firm,it would have been a lot easier, if only I had gotten any feedback from the FRSC, I would have known how to proceed, they totally blanked out from giving any response and no body to hold responsible

You actually have no issue with FRSC, Your complain should be directed to Your bank. They alone can reverse the transaction. Unfortunately, You bank with an institution whose customer service is zero.

Your complaint should be directed to your bank. I have had similar experience before with my bank and when I noticed they were delaying the reversal of my failed transaction, I forwarded my mail correspondence with them to cbn also putting them in copy. The reversal that has lingered for weeks was done immediately and was asked to confirm if my bank has done the reversal. @op go to cbn website as I can't remember the email address, there is a unit that attends to issues like this in cbn
