EPISODE 18

             Nestled in the heart of Victoria island , is the prestigious Ballerina hotel and suites. The hotel was loved and well favoured by the rich and affluent elites and the reason was not far fetched. With exquisite building designs and well structured building decorations, the hotel was a hub for the money shakers of Lagos. Today, the hotel bouquet hall was jam packed due to the heavy traffic of guests whom have been invited from various continent across the world to grace the occasion of the welcoming of a new baby into the family of a rich senator.

      In a corner of the bouquet hall, Kevin could be seen fidgeting with the lapels of his tailored jacket. He was feeling uncomfortable in the snugly fitted suit that he wore. " why am I here ?  " Kevin asked himself as he eyed his suits sardonicallly. Kevin had been invited by the senator junior brother, a close friend of his. He had declined the invitation, telling his friend he had work to do, but   his friend had threatened him with a rebuttal of any future partnership with him.  Kevin knew his friend do not bluff, when it comes to business issues for this reason  Kevin  accepted  the invitation grudgingly.
     
  . Kevin eyed the beautiful waitresses as they served different assortments of drinks to the guests, carrying their trays elegantly, with a glamorous smile plasterded on their faces like beauty pageant. He signal to one of the waitress and she came to Kevin offering him her tray. Kevin picked his choice and gave the waitress a little smile which lights up her face. He watched her hips as she sashay away from his side. " what a cow " Kevin grimaced.

" hey what are you looking at ? A voice said.
  
    Kevin  turned abruptly only to see the face of  Wynter,   a warm smile on her  face. She was dressed in a dark chemise evening gown which c lunged to her figure and seductively  accentuate her curves . Kevin eyes roved over her delicious curves. 

" you took my breath away" Kevin said flashing her, a pleasant smile

   " thanks " Wynter said. 

Kevin looked at her face, and he knew his compliment was wasted ,it was as  if he had said she looked simple." Who is this girl" Kevin asked himself wondering if he had met her somewhere. 
 
Wynter noticed his questioning look and returned it with an hard stare." Mr Kevin, it's seems you have the knack of been everywhere. Tell me , are you tailing me" she asked, arching a well penciled lashes.

" I should ask the same, Miss wynter " Kevin said his gaze lingering on the front of her chest . She noticed his look , but ignored it. 
 
" Miss Wynter, please do you care for a drink " Kevin asked.

" yeah " Wynter replied.
 
Kevin beckoned to one of the waitress. The waitress came, and he lifted a glass of chilled champagne from the tray and handed to Wynter whom nodded her thanks. 
 
" so can we talk " Kevin asked, a doubtful look on her face. 

Wynter studied is face for a moment and said " ok". 

Kevin streched out his hand " shall we ? "

Kevin and Wynter moved towards the balcony of the bouquet Hall. When they got there, wynter  relaxed her body on the iron  rails of the balcony while, Kevin  stood facing her, watching the different emotions on her face. He could not understand her ever since the day he had met her. He had thought about her all through the week, which was unlike him. There was something about her. Something so strong and self willed as if she could take on all the people in the world alone.

" what is it  " she asked Kevin, noticing the thoughtful look in his eyes.

" er....er....nothing " Kevin said. " so what brought you here" 

Wynter smiled, before she began to discuss how she had heard of the celebration through one of her former classmates in the university and from there, their discussion switched to different issues and as she talked, Kevin watched her face, the way her eyes light up, the way her mouth twists to a frown or smile. Her face was so unique and so alive. By the end of their discussion, kelvin knew he had memorised every features of her face. 

" it's late. I think I should get going" Wynter said moving away from the rail. She saw the pained expression which flashed on kelvin's face. 
 
" don't go yet. I will take you home" Kevin said, hating himself. 

" you are so sure of yourself pretty boy with this cocky attitude of yours" Wynter said irritated. 

As she was about to move away from the balcony, Kevin drew her hand, pulled it to him, making her body come against   his massive chest.
They both stood together looking into each other eyes. Kelvin chest was heaving, and he could hear is heartbeat, Wynter on the other hand, even though the look in kelvin's eyes was affecting her, her face was calm and emotionless. 

Kelvin looked into her eyes once more, before putting his lips on her mouth. He brushed his lips against hers and as he was about to deepened the kiss, an excruciating pain shot through his mouth. Wynter had bitten him. It was so painful, that kelvin pushed her from him, almost making her to hit the wall.
 
" what's that for? " kelvin asked, lividly, fire in his eyes. " I thought we were  having a moment" 

" watch were you put your lips,  . Idiot. Next time I will chop it off " wynter said as she left the balcony leaving kelvin as he stood on the spot, his hands to his lips.

" well it was worth I try I guess" Kevin said, touching his lips.

CHAPTER 19
 
     A strange dream brought the killer instantly awake. He looked around the room, squinting his eyes in the darkness.. " what a dream " he thought . He looked at his tousled bed and grimaced. His naked body was drenched with sweats. He always sleep commando.  The killer levered himself up from his bed and winced from a sharp pain which shots through his leg. Lethargically, he  moved towards a window. Quietly, he tilted the louvre of the window and, squinted his eyes, looking through the window for any danger lurking in the darkness of the night . His  built in instinct told him nothing was amiss but he ignored it. " one cannot be too careful this days" he thought.  

  He moved away from the window and entered his bathroom. He turned the lever of the shower ,  and jet cold water began to spray  on his naked body, soothing his massive chest, thighs and groin areas.  The killer reached for towel on a  Wall rack and dried himself thoroughly. He twirled the towel around  his waist and walked into the inner room. He crossed to a side of the room, where a big standing mirror stood with an attached dresser. As he stood facing the mirror, he puts his hands to his face and winced. It was the place where Kevin had punched him. The killer bent down and looked at his leg  where an iron like object had made a big wound. As he raised himself up, another sharp pain shot through his leg and he swore  in a language known to him.

   Truth be told, he had underestimated Kevin. He never knew the man had such fighting techniques. Through the standing mirror,  he look miserably at his wounded body and shook his head. He felt so weak and pathetic. He moved away from the dresser and walked out of his room. Even though the room was dark, his eyes was used to its dark state. He crossed the room to a portable refrigerator and brought out a ice pack which he put on a counter top of his kitchenette. He brought out a bottle of whisky which was inside the shelf of his kitchenette and fixed himself a drink. Holding the glass cup in his hand, he stared into the darkness of the room, allowing the whisky to calm him. He felt so much relieve after the drink. He moved away from the kitchenette and moved towards a door. He opened the door and entered a room. 

   The room was very small for his massive size, but he managed to squeeze himself. In. This was were he engineered his plan on all of his victim. He flicked the light on, and sat himself on a small office chair. The killer took a pen from the table and began to write on a paper blotter. His mind was whirling as it  processed his  plans on his next victim. No ideas seems to be forthcoming, his brain was stormed. This make the killer to be angry and restless. All of sudden, he slammed the desk he was writing with his fist  and the whole room shook. 

" kelvinnnnnnn" the killer shouted, his voice resounding in the room " Am gonna fix you so damn much, you will wish mama never gave birth to you" 

" dead man!   you are a dead man! Am gonna cut of your head and eat your brains. Will fix you up, so good, you will beg for death " the killer shouted, gritting his teeth, anger seething form his tears filled eyes. Suddenly he felled down on the ground and started crying. His body shook as the wave of tears washed over him. 

 " have failed you. Have failed you." 

The killer shouted, as he brought his head up. ,his eyes twinkling and dancing merrily in a frenzy of madness. 

 he stared at the ceiling " But don't worry, I will make it up to you, alright , don't be angry. Is  just for a little time. One goddamn little time" he said, talking to himself

   The killer eyes were wild now, a murderous look inside of them. He levered himself from the ground and suddenly, something like a veil descended on his eyes, and he went berserk like a sabotaged  robot. He began to fling his notes on the tables, kicking the chair, hitting the wall with his head and fists. His body was uncontrollable and behaving out of its own will. 

    The killer took in the look of the room a vicious look on his face. The room looked like an aftermath of Hurricane Texas. Everything was in disarray. The chairs were upturned, different papers littered the floor, the table was in a haphazard position, the walls looked rough and reddish, stained with blood . The room was a complete mess. 

   Blood was dripping slowly from a cut on the killer head, but he was not bothered. He had to punish him self for the mistake he did. He had underestimated kelvin and for that he must punish himself. He was a born killer. Born killers, never makes any  mistake, never loses their head. He had done the opposite, and now he had been punished. An evil idea, suddenly came to his mind, and he began to laugh, a maniacal laugh, his eyes shining brightly, twinkling dangerously with deadly intents. 

" why did I not think of that earlier" the killer asked himself an amused look on his face. " Kelvin, wipe yourself out, cause you are dead" he said, his eyes glinting with rage and he began to laugh, and howl like a wolf.
