As laudable as this is, I have always argued that government shouldn't get involved in this sort of things. They should have limited their spending on the provision of good standard rail guage, and provide incentives for private operators to provide and run the trains.
The likes of The Young Shall Grow etc should then begin their migration from runing buses to trains, that will attract more Local Direct Investment, create more jobs and grow our GDP

People like you make up about 50% of Naija population. Always think evil of any good thing... U see your neighbour buy a car, you are "scared" he may not have money to maintain it... You see your guy marry, you are asking where would he see money to take care of his FAM... You see your neighbour get a job, you're saying its because he knows someone in the company... Nigerians shaaa.... Always expecting anything good to fail so they can say their normal three words "I TOLD YOU"

It is people like you that deceive politicians and make them think Nigerians are substandard people.

If you don't deserve quality services from the government , I do

These jokers are here bragging with 160km/hr trains when China built trains running as fast as 431km/hr as far back as 2004. Nigerian politicians are clowns but I can't blame them, they know their constituents are gullible bonobos whom are easily lured over with free bags of rice and mosquito nets come election day.

Some people commenting in the negative have never seen a train let alone board it.
My only grouse with the new train is the fare, a journey of less than 30km for N750 is not fair.

Bet Y?...What did we do to deserve this sort of treatment from our so-called leaders...I mean what grievous offense did we commit by voting them into power...how fast can locomotive trains go...probably,these are reconfigured locomotive trains Chinese investors are trying to sell off to Africa knowing that our leaders, whose thoughts are so archaic and backward, will 'mumuishly take the bait...Abi Naija forbid to use light rail trains..
