The one thing that annoys me on here is where some people don't know where to draw the line between religion and ethnicity.

First and foremost, your relationship with God or Allah should be a personal thing, not something to bring into politics. Secondly, that you believe in God or Allah shouldn't mean you have to pander and act as a slave towards someone who practise the same religion. After all, both of you are serving the same God/Allah with one head. That's what Muslims and Christians in SW fail to realise. Speaking of the sharia law, how has it helped the northern states that practised such in Nigeria? The funny thing is, the rich in the North are not subjected to these sharia laws over there. Heck! School girls putting on hijabs to school, does that make sense to you? How then would we preserve the history and foundation of such schools which were founded by the missionaries? Come to think of it, we have Islamic schools where the female students are required to wear hijabs regardless of her religion and that's the right thing to do because it's their "uniform" wear and every student have got to be uniform in her wear! I don't even see why this should be an issue. In fact, this shows the Akintola man is being used as a stooge to cause chaos in the SW because school uniform wear is not even an issue in the North.

He also talked about a muslim marriage not being recognised but no one is stopping a muslim from obtaining a certificate from the court like the christians do. Even those that practised traditional marriage obtained their marriage certificate from the court yet this Akintola is saying nonsense? Don't even let me talk about the issues of wanting to take identification passport with covering.. Does he think it's only the muslim that are being short-changed? Does he think a non muslim wouldn't want to put on caps, nose earrings, wear beards also? But the fact is identity pictures are meant to be clear with no obstruction. I'm still wondering why taking pictures for few minutes without hijab should be a problem and so-on.
