What exactly do you want to know about the program?
I'm actually looking forward to doing my nursing top up in sunderland or Anglia someday , so I've not seen people that have passed through such program. Their results, is it tenable everywhere or there would be a case of looking down on one's result since its a year program?.. the pros and the cons?.. Thank you.

It is only when being asked for transcript that we make it look like untenable; apart that, it sounds good for sunderland, though.

Hi. I live and work in scotland.
For flights, use skyscanner.net to check for all flight options.
For sim cards, there are several lowcost networks like Lebara and Lycamobile, especially for calling Nigeria cheap. As a student, you shouldd have wifi around your school a lot so won't need to buy network data so much, but if you do, I recommend EE, Virgin Mobile, and 3.

I don't know about edinburgh, but There's no lack of nigerian stuff in Glasgow. There are at least 3 dedicated nigerian food stores, and 3 different nigerian restaurants in Glasgow. Also, many nigerian foods can be bought at any large middle-eastern food store, and I'm sure there are several at Edinburgh.

For affordable clothing, Primark is the best option.

Cheers
Hi please can you yarn me the Nigerian restaurant in Glasgow

Flight is more expensive than train is more expensive than coach.
1.5 hrs max flight vs 6hrs max train vs at least 11hrs by coach.
Use Google maps to check estimates of travel times from London to edinburgh.
The earlier you book your tickets, the cheaper it will be.

For sim data, it depends on how long you're staying. You can get a phone contract. I personally avoid phone contracts because they are typically 24 mths. But some give rolling contracts (every month) with option of cancelling at any time, Eg Virgin Mobile.

There are websites like uswitch and gocompare that you can use to compare sim plans.
Errrrm I have used flights that are cheaper than train from here to London Easyjet is cool, Ryanair is cool but they cancel quite a lot.

is that enough to cause a problem while trying to forge ahead maybe with msc?

The issue is, you would need have certain cumulative credit (ECTS) for you to move up to masters, in case you want further in another school. Lets assume that you did 6 modules for the top-up and you want to present it to another school for masters program. This may cause a little setback except you have presented both transcripts and the school is willing to accept you. This is not applicable to the school you have had the top-up, since you have upgraded your status from there.

Nope! Ukvi only check for the authenticity.

Okay bro. In my case, i was told explicitly that if it is not IELTS for UKVI, you cannot use it to apply for Tier 4.

I don't think there would be any discrimination on something like that. I mean a masters degree is one year and no one i know looks down on that. i don't know sunderland but i know cambridge and if you choose Anglia, i am sure you will be able to secure part time job quickly because there is a hospital in cambridge with over 3000+ staff and a staff bank that is always recruiting.

Is your school aware that the IELTS is not UK examined? Its what your school puts on the cas that Ukvi will examine.

I applied for a masters degree. The school might accept it but if it listed on your CAS for visa application, UKVI WILL NOT accept it!!

Okay. I understand you (though I'm surprised UKVI will do that since they're only supposed to verify the document and not do "another assessment". So best thing might be for the school to say on the CAS that they have examined the English proficiency of the student without listing the IDP IELTS document on the CAS.

I was speaking generally; you should realise that. I'm sure there are some train rides that have also been cheaper than coach.

Hi please can you yarn me the Nigerian restaurant in Glasgow

Comforter In The City - 50 Dundas St, Glasgow G1 2AQ. This is the popular one. I've been there many times.

The Experience Kitchen - 42 London Rd, Glasgow G1 5NB. This is less popular.

There's an African restaurant (I've forgotten the name) along Union Street in the city centre, but I rarely go there because it's below ground level.

I think it is owned by a Kenyan or Zambian. Their pepper soup and Jollof rice is super good. My Uni took us there when some of their Nigerian agents visited.

In case anyone needs this info, here are the links to the list of UK companies/institutions that sponsor visa for foreigners.

Work Visas (Tier 2 and 5)= https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/register-of-licensed-sponsors-workers

Student Visas (Tier 4) = https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/register-of-licensed-sponsors-students

The lists are updated every few days or weeks.

I suggest you bookmark them.

Exactly. the school might in most cases accept it but they cannot list it on the cas. they will just say that they have assessed your english and it is good for them. if they list it on the cas, UKVI will reject the visa application solely on that. Not nice i know but thats what they do.

Is not really a course, it's an upgrade of first degree, predominantly for 3rd or 2:2 lower class or for HND.

You were not specific or clear with regards to jobs, plenty part-time jobs are available. If you are a student each school has career fairs which you could also check out.... I have no idea about Childcare, but I know NHS Scotland is Great! so health care is superb. Rent is fair, and as you move away from the city center/University area it becomes cheaper, typically a decent 2 bedroom in Scotland (West) could range from 400-900 pounds depending on how deep your pocket runs and area. Goodluck

It depends on how much you intend investing, your risk threshold, and how much passive income you desire. If you want a relatively safe investment with returns higher than that of a conventional savings account, try mutual funds/investment trusts. On a £20,000 investment, you are looking at an average of £100 steady income monthly. The more you invest, the more income you get. If you live in the North, there are a few properties being sold cheaply for cash. You can buy and give them out for rental income, a £40,000 investment buying a property should yield £200 income a month after expenses. Since you are going to be in the UK long-term, try building a good credit profile. It would help you in the future for mortgages, credit cards e.t.c.

Hi Claremont... Could you please provide more details about this mutual/ investment trusts? I have got a reasonable amount of money which i do not intend to use till the next 2 years. I am looking for where to invest it instead of it lying fallow in my bank account. Thanks
