*** Living costs in Limerick, Cork, Galway for 2017 was placed at EUR 7,000 for visa processing and EUR 11,000 for Dublin...
If that helps.

Hi,
ICaSNg

Can you explain more on scholarships?
i checked out some,it was stated to be taken in Ireland, i graduated with 2.2,which of the test will back me up strongly in other to get Business related graduate scholarship(msc) ...
Thanks

Ireland do not require any text and the cut off for scholarship is 2.1. But you can contact the school directly for financial based scholarship. Its better to apply directly to schools and constantly email them for any information. Pls don't pay any agent to help you secure admission, you can do it alone.

Well for computer students, National College of Ireland (NCI) is ur best bet...its located in the city centre and they give scholarships. Well I stay on campus soo its not stressful for me..but its very expensive to stay on campus... Getting an accommodation outside is stressful..very stressful!!!!!! U'll have to switch from one hostel to another before u get a permanent place to stay especially in DUBLIN..

Getting jobs anywhere irrespective of the country totally depends on your personality, skills and diligence.

Republic of Ireland has Facebook, Google, PayPal headquarters, hundreds of hotels, cafe's restaurants , Hospitals to mention a few. Getting any job should not be too difficult especially for casual jobs. However, for permanent career focused jobs- this involves strategic planning, having relevant degree but more importantly highly sorted skills.

I currently live in Nigeria so I won't be able to discuss extensively on transportation within and outside DUBLIN. Dublin is easily accessible via, buses, trains and trams.

Like all capital/MAJOR cities-e.g London, Abuja/Lagos , New york etc; accommodation will cost relatively higher as compared to smaller cities.

Any Nairalander living in Ireland should please contribute to this ....

if someone graduated with a 2:1 in social science courses e.g sociology, political science
and has an IT certification.

what do you think he/she should do so as to better his/her lot .

NB: he/she intends to enrol for a masters in Ireland, can he switch to an IT masters or what should he/she do as i have learnt Ireland is different from Canada. thanks

Contact university of limerick. Though most of their courses cut off is 2.1, they accept 2.2 depending on individual cases. Or you can apply to institute of technologies outside Dublin

I think its your personal decision to make. However, you can decide better by where you see yourself in the next 5 years.
Or by what your plan is as regards career path and future aspirations?

Based on your question however, with a degree in sociology or political science- Philosophy / Business Psychology/ IT may be a masters alternative . However, for IT related courses, you need an edge to compete with other hardcore qualified IT graduates e.g developing your programming or database or web /software development skills to exceptional levels.

Cheers

Don't think so. A friend of mine here in Ireland have a case with UK immigration but still got her student visa.Though her application was denitrification at first but she appealed and got her visa.

Hello Again,

If you're truly ready to walk the walk and be thoroughly committed to acquiring EXCELLENT/DISTINCT IT skills, then I'll advise IT specialized course.
