I am beginning to nurture the thought on what I would do when I run out of this my naija foodstuffs that I brought with me. Yes call me a foodie grin

I don't even want to think about it... cry

I don't like oyinbo food at all... I have tried a lot of 'em and nothing tastes as good as jollof rice and plantain, efo riro, ogbono and poundo grin, moin moin!

I love cooking my own food my way, I got used to that since my university days in naija & it is now more of a hobby.

Going to London just to buy egusi or ogbono is not even worth it at all. There are a few halal (asian/pakistani) shops around that sell some things like okra, but no garri or elubo or egusi.

My days of eating sandwiches and casseroles don dey load small small. Don't pity me, na me wan come obodo oyibo.

I was in London last week for 2 nights on training. I had a strong craving for jollof rice and goat meat, but unfortunately, the nearest African restaurant to my hotel was a Ghanaian restaurant. So, I decided to try out the Ghanaian version of jollof rice as I had no choice.

It was the worst jollof rice and goat meat I have ever tasted, completely tasteless, soaked in palm oil and the smell was horrendous. I pity the hotel cleaners who had to deal with the smell in the room afterwards. The attached picture doesn't do justice to the overpriced rubbish they call Ghanaian jollof rice and goat meat, I wouldn't feed it to my dog if I had one.

I have made a mental note to avoid Ghanaian restaurants in London from now on.

OP caused it. His response was not fair to the poster who "advised" him, yet from the start he agreed for "unnecessary" comments to be posted. So why indirectly insult someone when you agreed to see divergent views? That's hypocritical. No doubt, Justwise has his issues, but on this, I support his actions. OP goofed!

But then, I dey follow the thread like Twitter.

This is very simple.

Mod said trolls should stay off, op said they should come (thinking he has speech of freedom ). Lol

They came, op gave em a piece of his mind. Mod later came with bloated ago; cos of first punch from op he threatened fire and brimstone smiley

Op didn't give in. Mod moved a great topic to general niche for general consumption.

Why?

because op indirectly told mod to let him handle trolls but mod felt insultive and waited for trolls to come ....

You don't know how well this thread would have helped some people in the travel section.

But here we are. Doing general things like a general citizen smiley

SHALOM

Edit: the powers that pass "limited power" not only took this thread back to where it belong but also moved to FP.

Mod, if not for you, this thread wouldn't have made it to the FP

grin It doesn't matter where the thread is bro. He no affect me at all.

Na why I tell the "mud" say I no send am, & true true I don't give a hoot.

It got over 10,000 more views since it was moved to the general section and 100 more likes.

As you rightly pointed out, It could have benefited & maybe inspired more people in the travel section, but the general population also deserve to be entertained grin.

@Justwise though I do not fault you but this is Nairaland !!!

UKmigrant, u asked Justwise to allow trolls that u can manage urself with them which implies, u can ignore them and u also claimed that U can learn one or two things from them .... unfortunately your reply to that dude 's advise was too harsh ..... Possibly, u misunderstood his advise and u retorted harshly . So, Justwise had to step in to sanitise the thread !!!

I have learnt a lot from this thread and I am motivated no doubt !!!

Justwise, pls restore this beautiful thread to its rightful place for all of us to learn!!

Pls mod , do not discourage people from sharing their opinions ..... On this one you ain't wrong but calling Op childish is quite wrong .....

@Afam4ever, u dey do worst when u were Mod oooo grin ..... That time for politics section..... Thunder fia ya black nyansh there !!!!! tongue

The troll didn't give any advice but a blame. If memory serves me right, he said buying this and that, going to Naija party and getting a credit card is not a good way to start in U.K.

That's more of a blame / judgement.

Lol afam might be a yellow dude ooo. Lol.

She meant the reviews for the restaurant I think. There are usually such reviews for popular restaurants, hotels, bars, churches etc online.

Im very sure about what im saying. Most restaurants have reviews online about their food, even 'local' african restaurants. Type in the name of the restaurant on google.
