@babablogger, UI doesn't consider catchment on my merit basis but majority of students in UI are indegenes.
Every blessed year, 35% of the admission quota goes to indegenes but you must HIT your cut off mark including COC e.g. if UI is to admit 10 students and 20 students hit the cut off 3 at least will be indegenes.
The VC even emphasised it recently

I think you are not clear about something. I don't know what it is. You said 35% admission quota goes to indigents and at the same time the indigents must meet their cutoff marks? Are you trying to say some people who met their cutoff marks may not be admitted? That is false. Everyone who meets his/her departmental cutoff will be admitted whether indigent or not. If UI is to admit 10 students, they'll set the cutoff such that only 10 students will meet the cutoff. Not setting a cutoff whereby 20 people will meet it and then they go ahead to admit 10. No, cutoff marks are not set that way!

@CondomSir, I'm referring to COC(Supplementary). So are you trying to tell me it's everyone that did COC will be admitted?

Oh COC it is!

I have no idea about how COC works but I know the higher your score, the higher your chances. Its definitely not everyone who did the COC will be admitted. I have no idea about how they allot quotas for that.

COC is really not supplementary. It is also merit with the way it is done this year. this is because they are yet to fill their expected quotas for those departments as those that applied to it as first choice probably didnt meet the required cut off of 50.

@1naijaguy, it ranges from 3500 above depending on the cbt centre.

COC candidates normally comes out with the supplementary list although it's merit but this year will definitely be different

@Zenith, does her subject combination corresponds with that of UI (Both JAMB & O'Level) cos it matters a lot. If YES, has she as well re-uploaded her O'Level result?

@Pharaoh001, the strike does not affect admission. It's NASU strike and besides, the admission is an avenue to gain revenue for UI.

My course is Philosophy, had 60 in post utme and cutoff is 61.25...I already changed to Adult education and I'm yet to be admitted... I'm just kinda worried...

Concerning Subject Combination,You are on the right path,no worries whatsoever.

I will enjoin you to intensify your prayers because truly you have an advantage of higher aggregate but the department you changed to will surely be the next in option for Arts aspirants applying for COC after HUMAN KINETICS,which means the competition will be lot more competitive with bulk of aspirants parading intimidating aggregates such as 69.4 68.7 66.3.

Keep the hopes high. There is nothing God is incapable of doing.
