This man jumped from the 3rd floor of the Lagos State Magistrate Court in Ogba. He owed 40k. Been in prison on remand for the past 6 months. After his case today, he took the leap to his death. The law should have a human face.

Why should somebody be kept in prison for owing N40k. He has not committed any (criminal) offence to warrant this.

The creditor who kept him in detention will be happy now that he has taken his own life to be free from debt/death?

The worst crime in Nigeria now is to be poor.

Hmm, I am really yet to understand our judicial system. Even generally worldwide, the legal system tend to be more lenient on the rich while harsh on the poor.

He saw it as a last resort. He had the guts to actually go thru with it. People who think it's selfish are selfish for not understanding the pain these people are going through.

Sure, you'll be sad for a bit. But you can't hurt for as long and as hard as these people have. You'll go to the funeral, reminisce with others about life, but eventually you move on.. because.. you have to.

These people have tried to move on. They can't. They were able to do something about their pain. He is such a brave heart.

The government killed him, many embezzlement by government officials are adjourned or thrown out because of lack of evidence but a poor man will be made to suffer the agony of 6 months incarceration.
