VISA APPROVED.
My visa was approved by a beautiful lady at window 3. I was praying to be interviewed by her cos she approved like two people while I was still on the queue. It got to my turn and the cgi directed me to her, I just knew I got it already. It lasted for about 1min max.
Here's My transcript
Me: Good morning ma.
Vo: *didn't reply, continued typing,* your passport and I20 pls.
Me: Here you go.
VO: *checked my I20 for like 10s* and asked where are you going to?
Me: I'm going to Texas A&M University Kingsville for a master's degree in chemical engineering with concentration in Environmental Pollution.
Vo: *nods* why master's degree
Me: I've had basic knowledge of chemical engineering in my undergraduate degree and I believe this would enable me to broaden my... Vo Cuts in
Vo: when did you graduate
Me: Jan ****
Vo : which school
Me: University of lagos
Vo: did you write any exam
Me: I wrote the gre and toefl
Vo: how did you do
Me: I did well scoring bleep on my gre and bleep on my Quantitative and verbal section. I also had bleep on toefl.
Vo: Who will be paying for this
Me: My uncle
Vo : what does he do
Me: told her
*she typed for like 15s while I just kept praying *
Then she brought out the white paper and said you qualified for this visa today. I couldn't hear anything again honestly.I thought people always lie when they say it here but it's true mehn grin. I just saw her circling my pick up location and she reminded me to keep my I20 properly as I'd need it at poe. I said my thanks and left happily.

I over prepared for the interview, I couldn't even sleep well at night, always ruminating possible questions and answers. She didn't even ask those questions, it's just God.

Many thanks to everyone on this forum that have in one way or the other contributed to my success. Special thanks to jerrypeacelinks for mock interview and words of encouragement, you'll surely get yours too. To Mayorboi, I say big thanks for the mock interview and heads up. We'll surely connect at Kingsville. To other spring 2018 applicants, I wish everyone all the best.

PS : Please pray fervently and also dress well. God bless you.

Congratulations baba... Sent you a pm

Me. Pass me your Passport and I-20(Passes it to him )
V.O: What will this Doctorate degree do for you?
Me: This degree will give me the skills, knowledge and every other thing needed to develop myself in Mechanical Engineering and also gives me the opportunity to get the skills to establish an energy research laboratory in Nigeria to solve the energy issue we are currently facing in Nigeria, this issue had lingered on from when I was small and is yet to be solved whereas this is a past scenario in U.S.A,and am looking at transferring the Technology to Nigeria by learning how the US passed through this hurdle because am quite sure US was once having energy challenges
V.O: Why WVU?
ME: WVU is a Tier 1 public research institution in the U.S. The mechanical engineering department in the Mechanical and Aerospace Faculty of the Benjamin Startler college of Engineering and Mineral Resources has a concentration in Energy Technologies which aligns with my research goals and Interest and gives me the opportunity and skills to come and establish an energy research laboratory in Nigeria where research in Bleep Energy generation will be carried out (As I was rushing and giving him as he dey hot…O gbona feli feli……… As inNo stopping, Matching the pedal really hard like say I have finally picked up and gained Utmost Momentum to Crush any V.O just Kidding ooooo grin grin)

$20k for two years? That will be a miracle. ''Although the cost of an MBA degree can vary, the average tuition for a two-year MBA program exceeds $60,000. If you attend one of the top business schools in the U.S., you can expect to pay as much as $100,000 or more in tuition and fees'' That is a quote from google since you are lazy to do the research. And if you decide to attend a one building school for MBA, be ready for the hustle/depression that comes with getting jobs after graduation. A simple google search brought this link, I didn't spend up to 5mins and I have not lost my head nor one of my arm,try to fish before begging for fish. http://www.happyschools.com/cheapest-public-universities-mba/

Hi Sotall please how did you go about getting your transcript from uniben. Who did you contact? Sent you an email already. Thanks.
The most important thing is that you need to have someone who is still a student in uniben who will help you in running around (very important), if the person is in same department as you graduated from, that will be nice.

Then you apply officially through Transcript exchange site. Register and pay. Then call your friend who will help you in running around from your department to exams and records to monitor the process and put the needed pressure when it is necessary on anyone that is slowing the processing down.

I was denied yesterday. The stress was just too much. My interview was 7: 15 am, I got there 7 11 am. Then paid 1k to have my phone kept for me. After the whole screening. I was about to get interviewed, i was keeping a smiling face at first then it got to my turn then my heart started beating.
I was interviewed in windows 3 by a white man not to old. in his fifty's.
VO: Why do you want to study?
ME: My company has recently advised me to improve my cv to get promoted.
VO: How did you hear about the school?
ME: My project supervisor during first degree advised me to further my studies in the school. His brother finished from there.
I also did my own research and found out they have a curriculum that fits into my line of interest.
(paused a bit and was typing very fast like a machine)
VO: Have you traveled before?
ME: No, i have had not had any reason to, my education in taking out for the first time.
VO: Are you married?
ME; No
VO; Do you have children?
ME : No
VO: Who is your sponsor?
ME : My dad
VO: What does he do?
ME: He is a private successful business man and he imports equipment into Nigeria and he is also a private contractor.
(typing very fast.)
Then the breaking news.Am sorry can not approve your visa now. blue paper. i just left feeling bad. am sure he saw it in my face.
Where did I miss it.
Please guys advise. Am scared ooooo

You don't have to be scared bro. You got it all wrong from the first question but we get to learn everyday. See the bold, readdress it and refire.

Bold 1: Does it mean if your company had not advised you to improve your CV, u wud never have thought of it in ur life time? That's the first red flag. Shooting urself in the leg.

Bold 2: just like someone rightly pointed out here, go straight to the point when answering questions. My father imports equipment and he is a contractor. Do not beat around the bush. VOs don't have time. Their hands are itching to delay your visa. Don't think they are in a hurry to dish you the white paper o

No I didnt, I asked questions but you were being defensive. The onus falls on you to explain when I was curious.

I had my interview a couple of days ago. Visa delayed.

VO: hello
Me: hello
Vo: pass your passport and i20 pls.
Vo: what school are u attending?
Me: Lincoln university, Oakland California to begin my MBA with a concentration in management information systems.
Vo: what's your highest qualification?
Me: bsc
Vo: what course?
Me: industrial chemistry
Vo: What year did u finish?
Me: 2012
Vo: what have u been doing since then?
Me: I've been working in my parents vegetable oil production company and since my dad is late, I'm expected to run d place in a few years. This is actually why I'm going for d mba, to acquire the necessary professional skills.
Vo: OK, what do u do there?
Me: I work in d fractionation department
Vo: what other schools did u apply to?
Me: California state university, east bay.
Vo: did u get admitted?
Me: unfortunately, no
Vo: why were u targeting d San Francisco bay area
Me: because of the diversity in d place, I'll get to meet pple from all over d world, learn from them and have new experiences, which is vital for growth. Without new experiences, u recycle your thinking.
Vo: OK. I'm sorry u do not qualify for a visa at this time.
What did I say wrong?? He had denied three people seeking f1 visas just before me. He looked strict and businesslike. He was typing all through and was barely looking me.
