I have a question for all the reputable auto dealers here who are based abroad.

Please how much will it take to land this vehicle in Lagos- custom and all charges inclusive?

I am interested in getting one asap.

Don’t try it!!! You will be stranded most of the time because we don’t have EV stations common here. Unless you’re planning to buy and keep it in your garage as a souvenir. Better to buy a hybrid instead that charges itself.

And of what use is an all electric car in a country where there is total blackout 85 % of the time?

Average nigerians haven't seen electricity for months to charge their cell phones so how will they charge the car??

While the world is talking about all electric cars, Nigeria and other "under" "under" underdeveloped nations should invest in solar powered car.

At least, Sun doesn't require corruption to shine. It's free for all..

Charging this Vehicle isn't any different from your other electronics gadgets. Once you follow the power ratings, you're cool.

It's not as difficult as we think

Charging Devices aren't expensive as you're expected to have them in your house. The only thing we lack is charging stations. You can simply charge this in your house while your gen is on or solar.

There's nothing a rewire would be required to do on them. The vehicles don't need maintenance as such compared to a gas engine

Just like your petrol engines, you know how far your fuel can take you and same here. You know how far your charge can take you.

You can't get stranded

As part of the efforts to encourage People to go electric, clearing costs of these vehicles have been proposed to be cheaper than the conventional gas engine vehicles.

In summary, you pay less to cheat electric vehicles

How do you get stranded when your gauge works fine? You can project how far the gas in the fuel can take you before you embark on your journey. Same with electric

Any electronics engineer can fix this. You simply test for discontinuity. It's easier to diagnose and repair than a petrol engine

I don't think lack of EV stations will be much of an issue to me.

The car can go 140+ km on full charge and you can get 80% battery power on a 30mins charge. That is enough for me.

I just need it as a leisure car and not something for long distance travel.

I live in a community with almost constant light and i work from home most times.

I just need a substitute car i can drive to church, mall or club.

This vehicle can be made to use solar to power it as well.

Summary- this is an award winning all electric vehicle, spotted in ojodu Lagos today. By all electric I mean the car uses only battery, not even hybrid. You charge it like your phone. Was quite excited to see this in Lagos. Has anyone seen something similar ? Please share!
So backward Africa and Nigeria is. In Europe many have embraced electric cars that they are commonplace that u see everyday.

Not too expensive for those abroad but very very very expensive for people in Nigeria based on the exchange rate. We don’t produce them (yet), so they are imported items. A leaf charging cable costs about $600, which is over 200K. And we’re not even talking about the battery of the car itself, a battery that inevitably needs to be replaced from time to time under normal usage, just like inverter batteries used to supply lights. do you know how expensive the battery is? Not to mention if the battery mistakenly damages before its normal replacement time due to surge or electrical failure or charging malfunction. So electric cars are not cheap to maintain at all, and for now are not 100% reliable, otherwise everyone in America and Europe would be driving electric vehicles already. But here in Nigeria we don’t even have the support system in place to handle it, no EV stations, no EV lube bays, no EV technicians - so how does the owner cope here? Then again, using generators to charge is a risky thing because it might damage the battery quicker than expected. So for now, I don’t think it’s a good idea to buy a EV car in a non-EV standardized country.
