CHAPTER 18.


"Nnabundoh I need to talk to you," she said, his mum's voice caught him off guard but of course, who else could it have been, the time is past 10pm he thought. "Come inside ma." He said sitting up. His mum came in and sat down beside him. Most people say he got his looks from his mum.
"Nnam," she started. "As you go back to school tomorrow,..." And she began to advice Badoh urging him to avoid bad friends and most importantly, he should "avoid the daughters of Jezebel who will always try to tempt" him. As she gave her 15 minutes sermon on his DOs and DON'Ts at school, Badoh sat quietly, pretending that he was listening. When she finished, she squeezed N10,000 into his hand.
"Manage this for now, before the week run out I'll send Ugo to pay some money into your account." She said.
"Thanks mum," he said.
"I hope your dad have giving you money? Because he's still not back from his escapades." She said.
"Yes, he gave me money already. Mommy, I need a favour please." Badoh pleaded assuredly.
"Oh yes dear, what is it?" She queried.
"Can I go with your (Mercedes Benz) 190? You can send uncle Ugo to come take it back in two days." Badoh said.
Why should I let you use my car? Are you going to school to do big boy or to study?" She said in their local dialect.
"Mommy look at my luggage? It's much. Plus the half bag of rice. Yams. I only wanto transport them with your car, not do big boy. Besides it's not far." He murmured squeezing his face and forming vexing.
His mum cuddled him, telling him "okay", he knew she would fall for it, it was exactly what she had said about him acting the big boy in school, that's what he needed the car for. If only she knew.
"I'll let you use it. I'll send Ugo to come take it first thing the next morning. When you get to school, look for a good spot in your hostel and park it there, don't drive around, do you understand me Nnam?" She asked in a voice that seemed more like warning than asking.
"Yes ma," he excited in a low voice.
"Tomorrow, you can have the key, and small fuel money." She said and stood up to leave. "Sleep well Nnam," she continued.
"Thanks mom, Kàchífó, " he replied her as she left the room. He quickly put the money in his bag, his transport money was in his wallet already, plus extra fuel money which he was sure he wasn't going to buy, he thought rhetorically, how far was Anwai?
Badoh thought about Viv and smiled, another journey page was about to be opened in his life. Before he knew it, he had travelled to dreamland.

By the next morning Badoh had loaded the Benz 190 with his luggage. He dressed up in a blue pant with a Paul Smith shoe, he also wore a white Sean Jo polo. His main target was Viv who must be waiting for him by now. He was already five minutes behind their scheduled time. He drove off in a hurry hoping to catch up, forcing his dad to ask his mum, "are you sure that giving this boy your car is the right decision?" "Am I sure about anything when it comes to Nnambundoh?" She asked back.
Badoh picked Viv at the agreed location, he apologized to her for being 15 minutes late but she was more preoccupied with the car he came with. He explained that he needed the car to move his plenty baggage and not necessarily to impress her like she had suggested.
When they arrived at Delta State University, Anwai Campus, Badoh drove to his school hostel which was directly opposite the Ibori golf club, along Ugbolu road, Asaba. The red building was one of the best accommodation available in the school and only those who could really afford it lived there. Leaving his luggage in the car, Badoh along with Viv walked to Kennedy's room and knocked, his roommate opened the door and welcomed Badoh warmly.
"I told Ken I was returning today, I hope that Waka dukpe drop my key with you?" He asked Ken's Roomie Efe but he was more focused on the pretty lady who stood a distant away from the door. Badoh was forced to draw his attention by waving his fingers in his face. "Bro no vex, na you carry this tomato jos come?" He asked Badoh.
"How that one take answer my question?" Badoh shot back.
"Okay, if na Ken you dey find, check your room, e be like say he dey use your textbook solve maths." He said to Badoh dismissing him. As they are about to leave, Ken's Roomie continued, "Badoh, make you leave your sis here so that sun no go beat her," he urged but Badoh ignored his funny antics and went to his room door while Efe watched her backside satisfactorily. On getting to the door, he started hearing noises from the room like someone was ransacking it. On placing his ears on the door, he heard voices and pulled back telling Viv; "Someone is in my room."

CHAPTER 19
"Leave me, ashhh, stop, you will kill me today..." Rashidat whimpered in loud moans.
"Stop, people might hear you. Open your leg well," he replied.
"Its paining me o, make we rest small." She pleaded in between the painful pleasure but he was to have none of that.
"Stay one place na," Ken barked at Rashidat forcing her to close her mouth as Ken bleeped her.
Meanwhile Badoh stood outside his door still perplexed by the sounds coming from his room. "Are you going to knock or should we call the police?" Viv said to Badoh mocking him. This pushed him to knock loudly on the door and sending silent into the room.
"Who be that?" Ken finally asked from inside the door.
"It's me, Badoh," he replied, "please open the door I have a guest," Badoh quickly added.
In a matter of seconds Ken opened the door and before anyone could say Jack Rashidat came bursting through the door holding her wrapper half tied. She greeted them bowing her head but making sure there was no eye contact as she sped off.
"My Manchi, how your mara be?" Kennedy asked Badoh as they hugged.
"I no suppose touch this your sperm infested body sef," Badoh mocked him.
"Na story you dey find!" Ken said.
"Wait o, na so babes come scarce wey e be say na ANY HELP Rashidat you come dey bleep?" Badoh mocked him as he stepped inside.
"My guy, conji is a bastard son of a thousand fathers," Ken said. "I'm Kenero, short for Kennedy, you must be the winner of last year's most beautiful girl in Nigeria, it's nice meeting you." He said shaking Vivian.
"Same here, I'm Vivian," she said smiling.

If I can do something magical, I will magically make your dreams come true.

Chapter 19 continues...

"Enough of the handshake," Badoh said separating them while Viv sank into the blue plastic chair in the room. His room was fine, he had red rug adorning the ground, a 21 inch TV and video player for entertainment, yellow and red flowered curtain, a family size bed of about 20 inches, and lots of space around the big room. There were also a door which accommodated the bathroom and toilet and a little corner obviously reserved for wardrobe, while the kitchen was directly opposite the bathroom door. "And since when did you shorten Kennedy to Kenero?" Badoh asked still stunned by his sudden change of name.
"Since 3 minutes ago, you can not even introduce me to this angel, don't be a dream killer," Ken said.
"Why don't you run after Rashidat, I'm sure she will make your dream come true," Badoh said smiling sheepishly.
"You no well. Make I go clean up, where your load sef?" Ken asked him.
"Inside motor, I don upgrade. Oya run go help me carry my load come up," he said waving the car key in his face but Ken ignored him. "You don go thief your uncle car key abi?" Ken questioned as he left the room.
"Go sidon for gutter," he blasted back.
"Your room is nice, better than I expected." She complimented,
"Thanks, let me arrange before I bring in the luggage," Badoh said as he pulled out another bedsheet but Viv collected it from him and urged him to go get the luggage while she tidied the messed up room. She spent most of that afternoon cooking and preparing jealof rice and fried dodo, while Badoh was with his lodge mates talking about the last week of his life and how things had changed very rapidly.
"Chai! Babah bless me na, allow me collect just 2 drop off honey from her Honeywell," Efe cried out during their conversation.
"You forget say you talk say I dey impotent last semester? I don dey important now abi?" Badoh queried Efe who had mocked him previously over his lack of interest in women. Efe had said that he was either gay or impotent.
"Evil that men do, lives with them. Don't forget that." Ken chipped in, making Efe frown over the lack of support from his roommate.
Vivian knocked at the door, telling them that the food was ready. They all rushed after her towards Badoh's room. They ate the deliciously cooked meal salivating and hailing her mastery of food preparation. "She's not only beautiful, she also cooks well, abi she be witch?" The troublesome Efe asked but Badoh pushed them out of his room as Vivian went into the bathroom to shower. He bolted the door and knocked at the bathroom door.
"Yes," Viv answered.
"I'm feeling dirty, I'll like to bath with you," Badoh told her.
"Okay, come inside," she giggled.
