I'm seeing a lot of horseshit comments. . .as far as I'm concerned, the President has very little power unless both the upper and lower chambers support his agenda. Not saying he won't be able to achieve anything but it'd be marginal. See how Obama's "legacy" is being blown to smithereens by Trump. I don't even know if Nigeria grants the president powers to sign executive orders. But since everyone is used to blaming the President, a lot feel the person in that seat can do wonders. See that one saying he'll "clamour for a new constitution". Lmao. When it takes ages and processes upon processes to carry out amendments, oga is saying he'll create a new constitution. Nigeria can only become better the moment the populace starts taking interest in lower levels of government, and the legislative arm at each level. But I mean. . .most people don't even know that they can hold LGA chairmen responsible for the 'clay' local roads, running water, etc. Even the LGA chairmen themselves are a bunch of touts that gather with their friends to share their allocations and drink beer. Lol

I don't have the plan of venturing into politics. But to answer your question, for me is about getting capable hands to man dfrrent parastatals/ministries (nothing is wrong with our structure, is js that the right pple are not put in the right place)...Prof. Pat Utomi must be in my economic team & Femi Falana part of the Ministry of Justice

Truely INEC is a confused institution..if l happen to be elected,l would erase some fingers from every regions, raise death penalty bill for corrupted civil servants and polithievescians..cut national assembly to a single house, reduce govt recurrent expenditure, and measure we all die here in terms health sector.Home grown products must be encourage,20% expartrite only of any company.that is all l can gv you for nw until l get there or better still link up with Buhari..for the remaining years.

got many things but first
I'll implement the constitutional conference report that will bring about regional government.
if that is done..we shall abolished bicameral house and make it a Parliamentary system...
I'll appoint technocrats into every ministry of the government to forestall massive development and growth...
in fight against corruption, ill move a motion for capital punishment to erring corrupt government, politician, civil servants or individual who is found guilty of the crime by the court...
power generation shall be topmost priority. we shall make other sources of power a do or die affair.. viz a viz. solar, wind, thermal ,coal, nuclear so that we can have production at it's maximum..
agriculture shall be second to non..all our agricultural produced shall be processed here before been exported. this will bring industrial revolution to our country which will created employment and boost foreign exchange....products like cassava, cashew, plantain, oil palm, cocoa, rubber, rice ,cotton, millet, sorghum, cow hides, etc will be processed locally...
these are just some of the agendas that will be implemented when I'm the CiC of the armed forces...subsequent policies will be derived from this setup..

Bollinger:
If i were president, i would invoke martial law and suspend the constitution. I would ensure all arms of the security agencies are put through psychological and mental rehabilitation and anyone not fit for service or duty is fired. Then i would look into the welfare of the ones that are fit and qualified and ensure that their working conditions are at par with what exists internationally. I will then let them know that any whiff of corruption from them will result in them being fired and jailed. You must be wondering why the focus on security agencies? Well, after all that is done, i am going to release them into the society and forcibly make Nigerians do the right thing. I will make sure every single citizen has access to what the laws of the land are so there is no confusion. Then i'm going to use them to round up all the old corrupt politicians and do exactly what Rawlings did in Ghana. I will then pay special attention to the new generation being born so that their parents don't corrupt them. I will spend trillions to ensure that they get the best education and very minimal contact with their parents. I will do it the way the US does it. Make sure that every child is in school everyday and any child seen roaming the streets and the parent would pay for it dearly. I Know it will take decades to change the social psychology of the society but we have to start somewhere.

setup a new true constitutional conference to draft a new constitution.
make governance very unattractive by slashing their allowances , turn legislation to part time thing.
harmonize civil/public service salary and base remuneration on cadre
Once u take up appointment ur children must compulsorily school in public schools in d country
i will commercialize rail transport so that every corner of the country will be connected
take stock of all abandoned projects and begin completion on the order of importance to the economic recovery of the country
make police work by giving the job of guarding road when president is to pass to civil defence even their orderly and bodyguard task.
Make a national consciousness among the African countries to be using gold as a trade currency among themselves.
Give south east a state
Do an holistic audit and restructure of NNPC by first suspending all the directorate cadre so as to have a balanced report.
Allow restructuring and making the states to depend on themselves
Restructure public service to stop waste. I have so much to say but will put down my pen for now

INEC, as it is at the moment, has proven herself in recent times as an autonomous entity particularly at the federal level. Only the state INEC need to be delivered from the whims of the State governors.

Besides, people should be allowed to join and form political parties as they wish. It's part of their human right. INEC is bound by law to register such parties once the eligibility criteria is met.

I will only know if INEC nolonger an errant agencies to incumbent government officials/cabals with some bribes of juice position(which is corruption an act of civil disobedience nationwide), if favour them with certificate of return in 2019.
Re: How Would You Fix Nigeria If You Were The President? by nextstep(m): 2:03pm On Jan 02, 2018
Simple.

1. Give existing industrialist cheap loans and give them free reign to invest in power, health, industries.
2. Dash them all our government infrastructure, in exchange for 10% stock in each company.
3. Appoint no ministers. The permanent secretaries are experts in their field.

1. Use of foreign materials such as steel, bitumen etc will be cut to 20% for any infracstructural projects eg. Bridges, rail, Airports, Roads etc
2. Use of foreign companies such as JB, CCECC etc for govermmemt project will be reduced to only highly specialized projects that we dont have capabilities for...and for such projects foreign labors will be zero, while foreign expatriate should not exceeed 40% of total experts
3. Foeign workers shall not be hired for any work Nigerian can be trained or hired for
4. Duties and tarriff on imported goods where we have capacity for self sufficiency will be doubled
5. Importation of expenssive foreign cars will be discouraged by increasing tarriff on New cars to 50-70% and extending allowable years on used cars to 20 years from 10 (why steal to buy 15 million new car when you can use your salary to buy ok camry pencil for 800k...if you want cheap new cars visit innosson and co)
6. Nigeria will stop selling unrefined oil
7. Products from refineries wil impact on agricultural and petrochemical industries
8. Extenssive National data base providing national numbers for every Nigerian...telecommunication companies, banks, Hospitals, Waec, Jamb and Nigeria army to to be engaged for the process (this will prevent to a certain extent the influence of local jingoist) every child born afterwards shall be required to be registered withing 2 months of birth
9. Provision of basic social security (not money) for confirmed poor elderly
10. Civil service will be made more engaging and functional, senior cadre offficers will have the priviledge of contesting for political position without having to resign
11. No senior civil servant shall spend more than 3 years in Abuja or other staff beyond 5 years
11. Renumeration for political officers (except elected executives president and govs) will be based on Nigeria Army salary scale. (SP-General, concillors- Seargeant)
12....and several others..but on a serious note most Nigerians are necessarily not concerned with any of these...we are mostly tribal and now religious warriors...so why not just dissolve the power to regions leavinv the feds with just 15% of revenue to take care of millitary and paramillitary and some other national and international issues while we try to migrate from presidential system to paliamentary...
Re: How Would You Fix Nigeria If You Were The President? by cuba62(m): 2:04pm On Jan 02, 2018
I will dissolve the states and work directly with the 774 LGAs. I will also dissolve the senate and house of reps and make each of the 774 LGAs to send a single rep to a new senate and it will be fair such that each geo-political zone will send the same number of senators meaning some zones that have more LGAs will me joined maybe 2 or 3 together especially in the northwest. Also each local government will elect a chairman and councillors, I will then send allocation directly to the LGAs.
But the problem is those currently comfortable with the status quo ie Hausa Fulani's will never allow this. Unless a revolution or something.

I will outsource the country to China or some other World Power by giving them control of our Budget. They will be expected to give a list of projects which they intend to achieve and I will put in place agencies to monitor their progress/achievements. Im sorry but i have no faith in most Nigerians to deliver on any mandate. In fact maybe we should even be recolonized (if there is such a word) so that we can at least have some things on ground like South Africa.

Every communities will managing their resources to develop and provide for themselves infrastructures they need.

All the states will be federation states to make their economy's policy for their electorates/citizenry provisions.

Then bomb off National Assembly and House of Representatives.

If any young presidential candidate show up for 2019 election, won't Nigerian APC and PDP electorates votes against him for refusing to buy their votes with some chicken currency of from k200, k500, k1000, k1,500, k2000, k2,500

Nigerian electorates are hypocrites during voting day selling their votes for corrupt government and start blaming others.

All I see here is a bunch of young people who are no different from the old people leading our dear country to ruin with promises of "I will" but no idea of "HOW I will". " HOW",that is the thing Nigerians never ask their prospective leaders. They jubilate when some idiot says "I will ensure $1 becomes equal to 1 naira". As 2019 approaches, begin to ask how. Ask Muhammadu Buhari how (he has a heap of stinking campaign lies he is yet to or can't transform to reality),ask Fela Durotoye how (cos a nation is not built on motivational speaking), ask Atiku Abubakar (he has always been a part of the lying establishment from SDP,to PDP with Obasanjo,to APC) how they intend to carry out all their bloated promises.

Even if you divide the country, these elites wouldn't regroup in these new found countries?

Does this mean you are done for and have no way out of this seeming rat race?
