Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has described the state as the fastest growing mega city in the world, just as he revealed that its Gross Domestic Product GDP has hit $136 billion

LAGOS State government on Tuesday disclosed that it has a staff strength of 100,443, even as it said it also created employment opportunities indirectly through various projects awarded as contracts across the state

The problem with most of you, is that you people aren't well informed and fail to properly inform yourselves.

There is no way, a state can be richer than a globalized company.

Why.?

Because, what makes a person or country or company rich, is it ability to produce diverse products that can be exchanged for money.

You don't expect Lagos or Nigeria to be richer than any globalized company.

That is why I believe that Nigeria should take
R & D serious so that they can develop such companies to create wealth & good jobs for Nigerians.

Unfortunately, Buhari the dullard has destroyed YOUWIN and has not set the ball rolling for R & D

Mynd44 kettykings etc take note of this fact.

The MTN that posted a profit of US$ 15.432 billion is MTN Group, a south African company with a 35% share in MTN Nigeria. Pascal Dozie, an Igbo man is not the chairman of MTN group, the chairman of MTN group is Phuthuma Nhleko, a South African.

In fact MTN Nigeria under Pascal Dozie, an Igbo man actually posted a $200 million loss in 2016

MTN posts first ever loss in 22 years

Telecoms giant, MTN said it made a $200 million loss in 2016, the company’s first after suffering a huge fine in Nigeria and currency challenges in key markets.

A statement by the MTN Group on Thursday, indicated that its financial results for 2016 reflect the most challenging year in the company’s 22-year history.

If the Igbos take R & D very serious and build globalized companies out of it, each of their companies will possess more wealth and good jobs than Lagos State.

Ability to produce diverse marketable goods & services, is the key to wealth creation.

So now it is not more about MTN, being chairmaned by Pascal Dozie, an Igbo by tribe posting a profit of $15 billion, but is now about MTN Nigeria of which Pascal Dozie is the chairman made a revenue of N870B in 2017 despite scorched earth policies of the Govenrment.

In your school, your teachers taught you that revenue equals profit?

I am not to argue with anyone please. This is a discussion , you can kindly verify the facts , MTN made more revnue than lagos state . Thank but no thanks.

Please do not divert the thread , it is an intelligent discuss about how state and companies revenue tally.

My brother, most Nigerians don't know this fact.

I remember in 2012 I had to write to Jonathan, Okonjo, Peter Obi and several governors about the importance of giving #10m naira business grants for those with business ideas and to encourage the teaching on investments.

Thank God, Jonathan,Okonjo and Peter responded positively by establishing YOUWIN and
teaching Anambra secondary school students the importance of investments.

You can check the news about the investment class for secondary school students organized by Okonjo and Peter in 2012 between the months February - April.

The only thing that pains me to this day, is not to have discovered on time the importance of R & D and to have teach them how to implement it into Nigerian Educational System.

If I had known & done so, Jonathan would have gone very far than what he achieved.

I feel bad to have failed Jonathan, Okonjo and Peter in not identifying this key fact on time.

Now, I will have to share that idea with the governments of other countries since Buhari is a disaster & none of our Governors are intelligent & patriotic enough.

Don't waste your energy arguing with a Yoruba person.

They think they are more intelligent than the Igbos and therefore, the spirit of pride hinders them from learning.

It is best you teach & focus on our people and those ethnic groups that are Pro Igbo and Pro Biafra.

It seems you think you can reason with these Igbos. Smh. This whole exercise is just another vain attempt to hype themselves while running down Lagos. In their hearts they know and see Lagos as a symbol of Yoruba administrative prowess hence this typical attempt to run down and belittle its strides. Don't be naive.

i think this absence of R and D is one of the reasons Nigerian Companies dont last long after the owner passes on even if there is a good succession plan in place. if the youwin concept is implemented in some of the willing states in the East , Startups which will not only beat the states in revenue generation can be birthed , startups that can solve energy crises , provide solutions of secuirity issues and food processing startups

You post the blatant lie that Pascal Dozie, an Igbo by tribe heads MTN that posted a profit of $15 billion, now you are screaming Yoruba because you have been bursted.

Do states make profit, the only way you can compare states and companies is by their revenue and not profits because states dont make profits .

Unfortunately, we have to achieve it without government apparatus since we don't have control over the instrumentations of the FG like in the days of Jonathan to implement it.

We have to establish a successful Igbo R & D company to help bring to reality the technological ideas of our people and globalized their products.

God will help us as we remind him in prayers everyday.

I have confident that God will help us out.

Already, I am working towards a technology that if successful, will get our people out of poverty forever.
