Happy 2018 everyone!

I want to know if anyone here has used the universal 3g modem directly on strong receiver 4922 to provide internet connection?

Picture below.

I bought it yesterday, connects to my laptop but not connecting to the receiver when plugged in directly and the 3g protocol activated.

Are you enquiring about the same one you posted or any 3g modem in particular?

They didn't leave. They changed the TP

They had been running messages of the switch since 1st of December to go into effect 1st January.

I don't understand the 2nd part though. If you are broadcasting another person's stations(not the ones you created yourself) are you not going to get it from a feed from another satellite?

I'm asking because I always thought it was normal.
The BBC and CNN on DStv for example, is it not from another satellite they pick the signal? Do they have broadcast equipment inside CNN studio?

For pay TV operators, they most times work with feeds, having been licensed by the right owners. For instance, Dubai sports is available for we end users on FTA platforms Arabsat 26° east and nilesat 7°west. Bit if a Paytv like TSTV, DSTV, Star times wants to rebroadcast, they have to notify the owners and a feed can be created or the allow them link with either of the aforementioned satellites.Definitely not for free. For us, its free cos we are not collecting money from subscribers.

RUSSIAN-UKRAINE ZENIT ROCKET FINALLY
LAUNCHES AngoSat-1

The Angosat Project Contract was signed by the Russian and Angolan Parties in 2009. In the following years both parties carried out a joint work in organization of the project financing, that made it possible to proceed to its practical implementation. Work on the satellite started in late 2012.
The Angosat Project calls for development of a communications satellite with C- and Ku-band transponders, its launch into a geostationary orbit and development of the ground communication and TV broadcasting infrastructure. The Mission Control Center and Central satellite communication network station are planned to be built in the suburbs of Luanda. Moreover, the Project provides for activities on improvement of the currently exciting ground
segment of satellite television broadcasting system of the Republic of Angola. The satellite was launched on 26 December 2017 successfully directly into geostationary orbit. Contact was established with AngoSat 1 after spacecraft separation, but contact was lost subsequently during solar panel deployment. Contact was reestablished a
day later, but the status of the batteries remained
worrisome. The satellite will be operated by Angola’s Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology. Angosat 1 will be placed in geostationary orbit at a longitude of 14 degrees East longitude and is expected to operate for at least fifteen years. It will match Earth’s rotation and hover over the same geographic location, beaming television broadcast, Internet, radio and other telecommunications services to Angola, the rest of Africa and parts of Europe. The satellite carries 16 C-band and six Ku-band transponders, and its communications payload was
supplied by Airbus Defense and Space. Angosat 1 is the Republic Of Angola’s first communications satellite and the first of its kind in Africa; it is the product of an inter-governmental agreement signed between the Angolan and Russian governments in 2009. Russian engineers also helped construct and activate a satellite control center near the Angolan capital of Luanda on the southwest coast of Africa, where officials will oversee Angosat 1 operations.

Hello Nairalanders. Please am considering buying a decoder that will have lots of religious channels (Dunamis, Dove, Emmanuel Tv etc) . I was considering STRONG Decoder but it seems to be out of stock in most shops. I also read of MultiTv and other types in this thread. Please advise on which to buy.

My second question is, Are there some that dont need satellite dishes or do i need dishes for all of them.

Please advise on the best to buy. My main emphasis is on the preaching channels. Thanks in advance

But Kremlin and Kiev are fighting, how come this collaboration?
AngoSat 1 was initially booked for a shared ride with the similarly-sized Energia 100 satellite atop a Sea Launch Zenit-3SL rocket, however, these plans fell through as tensions between Russia and the Ukraine rose over the annexation of Crimea and the Sea Launch business venture dissolved for a number of reasons. The satellite was then evaluated as a potential payload for the second flight of the Angara A5 heavy-lift rocket; however, delays within that program prompted the decision to move it back to a land-based Zenit launch vehicle as Russia and the Ukraine began working toward a resurrection of the venerable Zenit booster – hoping to see commercial business through its new operator S7 Airlines that acquired the leftover Sea Launch infrastructure and took steps to re-start Zenit rocket and engine production in the Ukraine and Russia, a process expected to take at least a year and a half before all required approvals can be obtained. AngoSat employs the second of up to three Zenit rockets that had been in extended storage at the Baikonur Cosmodrome after they fell victim to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict over Crimea. The first of the lot launched the Elektro-L No. 2 weather satellite in 2015 and a deal was made in 2016 to re-purpose the second Zenit for AngoSat after its original passenger, the Spektr-RG radio telescope, switched to Proton after suffering another launch delay. Because the Zenit had already overstayed its production warranty, a Ukrainian team from manufacturer Yuzhnoye had to perform refurbishment on perishable components. However, permissions for the Ukrainian engineering team to travel to Kazakhstan were held up first by Moscow and then by Kiev, resulting in the delay of the launch from July to December 2017 with another three-week delay suffered due to technical problems in processing the Fregat-SB upper stage.
