You know you are comfortably rich when 'how to eat, means to eat, or what to eat' have become a thing of the past in your life and 'when to eat' now becomes your occasional worries.

New friends, and I mean high classed ones and not the 'shey I fit see 1k from you till Buhari returns to the country' types. No... I ain't talking about those ones. Am talking about friends of high levels that, at an ocassion, the drinks on your tables alone are worth more expensive than the annual budget of the whole of Lagos state....well you can throw your phone against the wall if you think thats an overrated statement.
Either way, Darous Emmanuel, the first and last born of Shango is now a comfortable richman.

"aiit dude. You will see the alert right away." Thats me ending the call of a radio presenter. He just called to notify me of the actual bill for the advertisement of my new company.

3months after the demise of Adedoyin, I sold off her companies which were then in my name and I used the new funds acquired to establish some car dealing companies both within the surburb of Abeokuta and its nearby cities.

Just when you thought it would take a cold day in hell before Darousmart could care for other people's needs, disappointedly, he did something extra ordinary by opening a charity foundation for homeless kids and orphans.

It was the event of one fateful day that instigated the idea of that Orphanage foundation which was named in the memory of the late Adedoyin.

I was coming back from a Glo organised musical concert held at one 5-star hotel inside Banana Island there in Lagos. Where a lot of stars from the music industries were in attendance. People like Olamide Bado, Flavour and suprisingly Davido were all present. It was a great concert and I was exteremly thrilled to have been there with my friends to see those bleaching creams of the music industry.

After saying pleasantry goodbyes with my friends after the end of the concert, I entered my blue Lexus-2018 model and headed straight to Abeokuta. Few distance remaining to cover before I got home, therein one popular sapon market, I reduced the speed of the car when I noticed some people surrounding a very young guy whose right cheeks was swollen and blood covering his battered face.

Then, the curiousity application in me flew open by itself. I stopped the car and parked it safely beside the road. After locking the door firmly, I made a quick approach towards the scene.

"chisos! Is that why they beat him so badly like this? Because he stole a seventy naira bread and one pure water to satisfy his hungry belly?" Those were my lamentations after one elderly woman has narrated everything that brought about the incident to me.

While I was still standing there, A hefty man pulled the thief up and gave him some series of slapping before handing him to another person who repeated the same thing he did.

The poor thief could only whimper and beg for mercy, but no, this baboons would have none of that. To them they have caught a thief and he must be dealt with. The more he begged, the more they feel the urge to beat him.

'Some nigerians are really stupid and cruel if you ask me or you don't ask me....cos of a mere bread and pure H2O, something he stole just to survive the hardship implemented on him by the ba*tard leaders we claimed to have? They were ready to end his life? When their leaders that are looting there resources on hourly basis are on the television, flashing them some stu*id dentitions? What an odd world!

Not long ago, Sandra Jim Anababa, a friend of mine on facebook posted a very heartbreaking picture of a small boy of age 7, that was set ablaze by some people just because he stole a small quantity of garri to feed himself. The poor boy was killed bru...'

"wetin dey delay Pascal and Opera na?" A loud voice from the crowd interrupted my thoughts. "

I glanced around and my eyes collided with the eyes of the thief but he was now sitting on the floor. He was staring pitifully into my face. Apparently, he was sending a lot of messages to my heart with that abject stare.

Seeing him in that sorry state triggered a lot of memories in my brain. I remembered vividly that I was once like him, when finding something to eat is equal to finding a virgin widow. Truth be told, people, specifically Nigerians are really suffering badly.

To all the hustlers out there, I say continue, don't relent, persevere, endure more, pursue more. And one day, your pay day will come.

Now, back to the story, I squinted at his face long enough for me to contemplate on what to do. Then the next thing I heard from the crowd concluded my thoughts for me.

"Pascal, bring that petrol make we roast this thief na!" Someone among the angry mob cried out and seconds after he said that, I saw a guy coming towards the thief with a jerrycan of fuel in his hand.

It was that action that brought out the full humanity in me.
In one swift moment of instinct judgement, I thrusted my hands into my black Gucci jean trousers. I still had a few of the dollars I sprayed for some upcoming artist at the concert in my pockets. I was about to spray the dollars among the crowd to divert their attention before I suddenly began to second guess myself.

The guy coming with the fuel was fast approaching and I quickly asked myself if what I was about to do is right...but when the guy with the fuel seems to be getting nearer to the thief than the reply I was expecting, I swung into action.

You can guess what happens, when a crowd suddenly see dollars flying in the air.

When I saw that even the idiot coming with the petrol has joined in the dollar-picking-task I threw at them, I marched fast towards the thief, pulled him up and I was about to start running with him when I heard a voice from behind me.

"wetin you wan do? Where you wan carry am go?" I turned around swiftly to face the owner of that voice. It was the hefty guy that started the slapping session with the thief.

'a little revenge would do'. A voice told me from within. As a learned and trained boxer, I launched a straight punch to his face but he quickly dodged it aside but his side dodging was met with a fast jaw crunching cross from my left arm followed quickly was a heavy jab directed at his solar plexus from my right arm and that was what eventually sent him to the floor.

"you see that Blue Lexus parked over there?" I asked the thief standing beside me while pointing to my car. He nodded his head and I quickly added. "if I first you reach there, you are on your own o." He didn't let me finish my statement before he used all the strenght left in him to get to the car just seconds after me. I opened the car and after he'd gotten in, I zoomed off.

Inside the car, I contemplated on whether to take him to the police station or hospital. But after he told me about his plight and what led him to stealing, I had no choice than to conclude on the latter.

Hours later, Ade, (the thief's name) and I were heading home from the clinic where he was treated. I took him to my house and gave him some cloths and 5thousand naira. I asked him to come back the following monday to my office at Panseke to resume work as an attendant at my company.

'if you're are not among the first eleven people that will be in heaven for what you did today, then na ojoro be that o.' An inner voice told me before I slept off on the night of that fateful day.

I transferred the needed amount for the advertisement to the account of the radio presenter that just called me. I dropped the phone beside me on the dinning table and began to eat.

My phone rang again and thinking it is the presenter calling back to confirm the sucessful transfer, I decided not to pick it. It rang again and again but after the fifth one, I washed of the wheat in my hand and picked the phone. It was an unsaved number.

Thinking it might be a new customer that wants to do business with me, I quickly picked it and spoke softly in my usual way of communicating with a new customer.

"hello...this is Darous Emmanuel. C.E.O of Darousmart Vehicles Nigeria Limited. How may I help you?"

"really?" Replied by a hoarse voice. "thats so sweet of you." Followed again with a feminine laughter.

"please who is this?" I asked curiously as I wasn't able to recognise the owner instantly.

"guess which of your nemesis have come back?" The voice replied again but in a hoarse teasing tone.

"please am not in the mood for silly pranks. Who am I talking with?" I blurted out frustratingly. But the reply was the same as the previous one.

"if you are not ready to talk, then, am ending the call right away." I said and waited for the reply.

"who could I be among your nemesis o? Darous.." That sounded hoarsely more. "Adedoyin? No, that means I'm dead...hmm, maybe Beatrice? But that would mean am calling from prison which am not....then who am I ooo...." She was silent for a sec but eventually continued with the hoarse disguised voice. "Can I be Chioma?...can I? If am Chioma, then that would mean am calling from Abeokuta, which I am presently, and now on my way to your mansion....YES!" She cried out in her normal voice and I instantly recognised her. "am CHIOMA! But am not your nemesis. Am infact the genesis of your wealth." She concluded with a chuckle.

I released a deep sigh and spoke. "what devil are you planning now o...Chy...?" I asked with a tone that perfectly masked the worry in my voice.

"am not planning anything....infact, am right now at your gate."

"what!...how..." I was interrupted by the sound of the gatebell.

"thats me. Be a gentleman and open this gate." She said.

Reluctantly, I picked the remote controller of the gate and opened it. I watched from the dinning window as Chioma stepped inside the compound, glanced around and eventually settled her gaze on the entrance of the mansion with a mischievious grin that spelt; THE DEVIL IS HERE!.

I must say this is one of the stories ive enjoyed so much. Though sometimes sango network go comot where u dey for many days. But you never disappoint.
